“For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. … Now when it says that ‘everything’ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:25-27)

“In your patience possess ye your souls.” (Luke 21:19) “So be patient with a goodly patience. Surely they see it far off, and We see it nigh.” (Holy Qur’an 70: 5-7)

There is a straight line between the stand the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan took, twenty-eight years ago to rebuild the Nation of Islam, on the foundation laid by his teacher, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and the stand he took earlier this year, that launched the Millions More Movement, which culminates and re-launched on October 14-16 when he will again, stand tall in the capital of a land that has spelled hell for original people for centuries.

It was like the arousal of a powerful lion, when Minister Farrakhan arose and took his stand in the most western part of America, in September 1977 to do as the Holy Qur’an reads “arise and warn … .”

From that first day of his rise onwards he began informing others of his intentions and in November he publicly announced in Chicago and then at Rutgers University his intentions to rebuild the Nation of Islam.

There was an uproar but his stand was firm and in the month of December Minister Farrakhan wrote what we called “the stand” which Minister Akbar spread in the Black press throughout America.

I hasten to add, however, that his stand has always been a compassionate stance that everyone of good will could find his or her place in it.

I was thinking of what he (and the microscopic number of us who were with him) did in those days, as I recently sought a deeper understanding of Michael’s stand, according to the first verse of the twelfth chapter of the book of Daniel.

At that time I was looking at the definition of Michael’s name in order to see deeper into his stand. I first went to Strong’s Concordance where the name “Michael” means: “Who is God?” I thought: “Is this all?” and “Who else’s name is defined with a question?” and “How does this meaning relate to the stand Michael took?”

I suggest that we study the whole of the 12th chapter of the book of Daniel, since, as the Honorable Elijah taught it’s of this time in which we now live.

It begins: “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise.” (New International version)

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people … .” (Daniel 12:1. Emphasis mine)

It was something the Honorable Elijah Muhammad once told me that now made me look deeper. So I decided to go to the works of some Jewish scholars to see what else I might learn. But before I could get to their reference books, I received a call from Minister Farrakhan, who was then in Atlanta, Georgia.

He was exhausted, but still pushing on to the full realization of the salvation of our poor people and the oppressed everywhere. He had taken his stand, when he first accepted to follow and help the Honorable Elijah Muhammad back in 1955. He renewed that stand in 1977 and was now more openly than ever working to get millions to take their stand with his.

Part of the meaning of stand is: to be or to put something in an upright position; to get into an upright position; to have and maintain a position or stand on an issue; to hold one’s ground; to fight resolutely or to give battle; a view someone has or an attitude someone takes on a particular subject.

We first must have the basic definition of whatever we seek to understand, as that is a prerequisite to gaining the significance of your subject, issue, matter or subject matter, area under discussion. So later in our discussion I raised the question of the definition of Michael’s name.

I told him what Strong’s Concordance had for the basic meaning for Michael’s name, which was: “Who is God?”

Minister Farrakhan responded, “Let me see what I can do with it.” Now, for reasons I hope to make clear to the reader, I wish to divide his answer into two parts. He started with: “It seems to me that it was the stand of the angel, Michael, that answered the question put before the people in his person or name: “Who is God?” The rest of his answer next issue, Allah willing.

His answer is related to something the Honorable Elijah Muhammad told me of two Jewish scholars, in Washington, D.C. who told him that they knew his identity. That conversation, he told me, was in the 1930s–while he was on the run!!!!

Then he cited these verses from the Holy Qur’an, which read:

“Those whom We have given the Book recognize him as they recognize their sons. And a party of them surely conceal the truth while they know.”

“Those whom We have given the Book recognize him as they recognize their sons. Those who have lost their souls — they will not believe.” (Holy Qur’an 2:146; 6:20)

They and or their descendants likewise recognize his student, Minister Farrakhan.

A brother loaned me a VHS tape titled: CORRECTIONS. The cover reads:

“Private prisons are back.”

Then here is what follows: “… a brilliant and searing essay…a glaring cry for justice, for the befallen, for the poor, for all who believe in justice.”

-Rod Hewitt, Roughcut

“With over 2 million in prison, 7 times the number in 1970, the U.S. finds itself in crisis. CORRECTIONS explores one response to this crisis, a revival of ‘prisonprivatization,’ where people invest in prison growth & profit off more & more prisoners; where punishment an tough on crime’ politics meet the end of welfare, and the legacies of racism and poverty…

“CORRECTIONS TAKES YOU TO:

“A prison trade show and the corporate headquarters of leading prison firms;

“A poverty stricken community enticed to house a new prison for ‘economic development’;

“A timeline of the ‘Tough on Crime’ movement, following its beginnings in the Civil Rights Movement;

“An African American community alive with the memory of prisons for profit, still battling for social and economic justice;

“A juvenile prison where violent defiance of human rights law is perpetrated upon children as young as thirteen.

“PRAISE FOR CORRECTIONS:

“CORRECTIONS is a groundbreaking critique of the role politics and profit play in the denial of children’s liberty. It is a must see for anyone trying to understand the forces that have allowed more young people to be incarcerated while crime continues to drop…”

-Vincent Sheraldi, Justice Policy Institute

“… powerful & persuasive… Hunt’s well-rounded film de-fangs such ubiquitous slogans as ‘getting tough on crime.’

-Merele Bertand, Film Threat

“A compelling indictment of U.S. corrections policy, prison privatization, and the growing prison industrial complex.”

-David Faithi, ACLU Nat’l Prison Project

“This is about prisons in America.”

This tape demonstrates one of the many justified reasons for The Millions More Movement! So does Mr. Bennett’s—President Reagan’s former Secretary of Education–genocidal comments, which reveals our enemies’ hearts, when on his satellite radio show (9/29/05) he said that “you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down.”

The full context of Bennett’s words reveals worse than what I quoted.

More next issue, Allah willing.
