“Eid Mubarak/‘Id Mubarak!” means blessed festival or blessed Eid. This was the greeting shared by nearly two billion Muslims worldwide as the Holy Month of Ramadan recently concluded.
Muslims celebrated the end of Ramadan, which commemorates and honors the revelation of the Holy Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
During the Holy Month, Muslims fast from eating and drinking during daylight hours, abstain from intimate relations with their spouse, read the Holy Qur’an, perform their daily prayers and increase acts of service in their communities.
With the end of the fast came great ‘Id-ul-Fitr (festival of the breaking of the fast) celebrations where the Muslim Ummah (community) came together to eat delicious food, fellowship, distribute gifts and express gratitude to Allah (God) for His Grace, Mercy and Blessings.
