As world leaders convene in New York for the 80th United Nations General Assembly, a blistering 72-page independent report was released that concluded that Israel is indeed committing genocide against the Palestinians and that Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are responsible for these deplorable actions.
The report was submitted by the UN’s Independent International Commission of Inquiry and was released Sept. 16. The commission was established by the UN Human Rights Council.
The report confirms what millions of people around the world from various ethnicities, religions, political ideologies and socio-economic backgrounds have protested and pointed out for months:
Israel is committing genocide and targeted ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Since its creation in 1948 with the help of the UN, Israel, with the financial support and backing of the United States, has continued its apartheid-like policies and practices.
Any progress for a two-state solution, giving Palestinians their own autonomous land and government, has gone nowhere over the years. Recently, an increasing number of countries have supported this step.
However, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, has warned that Israel will never support a two-state solution.
“Why would the Palestinians not want a ‘separate state,’” Minister Farrakhan asked in a message he delivered as part 12 of his 2013 lecture series, “The Time and What Must Be Done.”
“Why wouldn’t they want their own people that have been made vagabonds (homeless wanderers) in the Earth to have the right of return to their native land? Why would you say you want ‘two nations, side-by-side’ living in peace—but you will never allow the Palestinians to be armed, to protect the sovereignty of a Palestinian state?” he continued.
“You will never allow them the weapons that would allow them to protect their own airspace! You know that! And I know that! So, what kind of ‘sovereignty’ will they have with no ability to protect themselves from any outside force?
No, I am sorry. … There will be no ‘peace’ with Israel and the Palestinians,” Minister Farrakhan said. What he spoke has proven time and time again to be true.
In the almost two years since Israel’s most recent war on Gaza, which began October 7, 2023, Israel has slaughtered thousands of Palestinians. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, as of September 17, at least 65,174 people, including at least 19,424 children have been killed, and at least 166,071 people have been injured.
In previous reports to the UN Human Rights Council and UN General Assembly, “the Commission found that the Israeli security forces have committed crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza,
Including extermination, torture, rape, sexual violence and other inhumane acts, inhuman treatment, forcible transfer, persecution based on gender and starvation as a method of warfare,” the Sept. 16 report says in part.
However, this most recent report—described as the most authoritative UN findings to date—also addresses the genocide being committed and points out that Palestinians in Gaza have been attacked in their homes, hospitals, shelters (including schools and religious sites) and that civilians, journalists, healthcare professionals, humanitarian workers and other protected persons were directly targeted and killed by Israeli forces.
Navanethem “Navi” Pillay is chair of the UN Independent International Commission of the Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel. She told Al Jazeera in an interview that there was nothing the commission did not independently investigate and verify to conclude that Israel is committing genocide as outlined in the Sept. 16 report.
However, the question is, how will the nations of the Earth respond and what will this latest report achieve that can lead to peace and the safety and security of the Palestinians? Israel and the U.S. have proven to be dishonest brokers for peace.
“Attempts to condemn the violence and call for an end to the campaign in the UN security council have always fallen foul of America’s use of its security council veto,” Jonathan Este, senior international affairs editor, wrote in an article titled, “What will the UN’s Gaza genocide report achieve?” published Sept. 18 on theconversation.com.
Palestinian American activist Linda Sarsour expressed her thoughts about the UN’s latest report and her frustrations. “Please don’t send me articles and messages about how the UN Commission just released a report confirming that Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people,” she posted on her Facebook page on Sept. 16.
“Hundreds of thousands of dead bodies. Gaza is a parking lot. Most number of amputated children in the world. Burned bodies in tents. Not a single university stands today. Only makeshift hospitals because EVERY hospital has been destroyed. Forced starvation and children withering away because of lack of food. Dead animals on the sides of the roads.
“There has been a GENOCIDE for almost TWO YEARS. And those in power have done NOTHING. They know it’s a genocide. They see what we see,” Ms. Sarsour continued.
Despite the tragedy of what is happening, Allah (God), The Great Mahdi and The Great Messiah are in control. In his last public major address before the world, Minister Farrakhan again warned Israel of the consequences of its actions.
In his message delivered Saviours’ Day 2024 in Detroit titled, “What Does Allah The Great Mahdi and The Great Messiah Have To Say About The War in The Middle East?”
Minister Farrakhan stated, “Israel is in bad condition right now with God. And He showed me in the night what He hated about Israel.” Minister Farrakhan cautioned Israel about devaluing the lives of other human beings.
“Who gives you the right to take your life and make your life valuable, and diminish the value of the lives of others? It is kind of stupid for any of us to think of our lives in terms of real value;
And as you maximize the value of your life, you minimize the value of the lives of the people that you walk by every day. Don’t ever think that your life is more valuable than the lives of the people that God has chosen to be His own people,” Minister Farrakhan said.
“No, no, no! Every human being has value. And the value of every human being is what God has put within them when He made them after His own image and likeness. So, as they were minimizing Palestinian life, in the night He was showing me: ‘With every life that they take, that they have diminished, they have diminished the value of their lives in My Sight.’”
Israel, the U.S., and all nations of the Earth should heed the divine and revelatory guidance, insight, and warning from a man who, for over 70 years, has proven himself a friend of humanity and, more importantly, a friend and servant of Allah (God).
