Debuting her latest book, “What Would the Ancestors Say??” Ms. Seales captivated the packed room of spectators in Chicago as she shared her observations on current political events.

Her book was the outgrowth of a one-woman show, adapted into a book, filled with history and current events, intertwined with social commentary through iconic and historical voices.

“Critical thinking is not a talent; it is a skill. It can be learned and it could be practiced and it could be refined and improved upon. However, we live in a society that convinces us otherwise, that only certain people do critical thinking (and) that only certain people understand these things …, ” she said.

“In these times, intentional learning really starts shifting your purpose. I started understanding that I needed to understand more,” she shared.

The space was intimate and packed to capacity; however, every attendee was holding on to every word shared and was eager for the anticipated book signing. Ms. Seales happily signed books for those in the audience.

Jurema Gorham is the owner of Burst Into Books Community Arts Space and shared with The Final Call, how the book signing at her business came about.

“A mutual friend of myself and Amanda Seales was able to connect us to one another when they learned that Chicago was on the list as one of the locations for the book tour,” she said.

“This event was a beautiful display of love and positive groupthink around change, and I am so grateful for Amanda Seales,” said Cristina Pruitt.

Tarra Sharp is a Chicago resident and a fan of Ms. Seales. “I follow Amanda Seales and I really love the way she educates her followers, and I really appreciate that. I was really excited to attend this event. I’m glad I attended.” For more information, visit amandaseales.com.
