The State of Israel is isolated on the world stage among the nations of the Earth. This was strongly witnessed when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to the podium to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to an empty room. On his arrival, delegations in mass stood up, turned their backs on him, and walked out of the chamber in protest.

Mr. Netanyahu is an accused war criminal with an outstanding arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court and used the occasion to arrogantly reject ending his vicious war in Gaza and global calls for Palestinian statehood.

A growing chorus of nations blasting Israel for its repression and genocidal war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians has morphed into a major symphony of rejection and demands for accountability.

World leaders convened in New York for high-level general debates from Sept. 23-29 at the annual UN General Assembly. Leaders made it clear: end the genocide, end the war in Gaza and end the illegal land grabbing and planned annexation of the West Bank.

Each day, leaders mounted the green-marble lectern of the General Assembly Hall and condemned the “avoidable genocide,” destruction, forced displacement and starvation of Palestinians, as well as the ambition to achieve “greater Israel” to control and remap the region.

Not mincing words, Jordan’s King Abdullah called it illusional to think Israel has any intention of ending the war. “The international community must stop entertaining the illusion that this [Israeli] government is a willing partner for peace. Far from it,” King Abdullah stated during the general debate speeches.

“Its actions on the ground are dismantling the very foundations on which peace could stand and intentionally burying the very idea of a Palestinian state,” he warned.

Qatar’s Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said the UN was founded 80 years ago on universal principles shaped by the lessons of two World Wars. “If we allow violations to continue, it means allowing the rule of the jungle where perpetrators and violators enjoy benefits just because they can,” he stressed.

On Sept. 9, Israel committed airstrikes in Qatar’s capital, Doha, in targeted assassination attempts on Hamas negotiators. The strikes hit a residential neighborhood with schools and diplomatic missions and were the latest strike by Israel on foreign soil in the region.

Having classified this heinous act as state terrorism, the Amir denounced political assassinations and efforts that undermine any diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the genocide against the people in Gaza.

“They negotiate with delegations and plot to assassinate the members of the negotiation teams,” Mr. Al Thani pointed out. “Is this not the definition of a rogue government?” he said.

“After nearly two years of genocide, mass starvation, the perpetuation of apartheid within the occupied territories and aggression against its neighbors, the ludicrous and delusional scheme of a greater Israel is being proclaimed with brazenness,” said Masoud Pezeshkian, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran. “The scheme encompasses vast swaths of the region,” he said.

President Pezeshkian also described 12 days of “savage aggression” inflicted upon Iran in June by Israel and later the United States, striking cities, residences, and infrastructure. He called the attacks “a grave betrayal of diplomacy” and a “subversion of peace,” noting they killed children, women, scientists and intellectuals.

None in the world is secure from the aggressive machinations of the Israeli regime and its sponsors, who no longer content themselves with normalization through political means, said the Iranian president.

Rather, they impose themselves through naked force, calling it “peace through strength” while it is neither. “It is nothing, but aggression rooted in coercion and bullying,” Mr. Pezeshkian said, describing Israel’s and America’s posture.

“All lines have now been crossed,” said Diomaye Faye, president of the West African nation of Senegal, in his address. “We cannot stay silent nor look away, because Gaza is no longer alive,” he added. During his remarks, President Faye emphasized the need to establish an independent and viable Palestinian state.

Notwithstanding the calls for Israel and Mr. Netanyahu to be brought to task for war crimes and flagrant disregard of international and humanitarian law, came a slew of “long overdue recognition” of Palestinian statehood.

During a conference led by France and Saudi Arabia on Sept. 22 as UNGA was getting underway, leaders and senior officials of Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Portugal, San Marino and the United Kingdom announced their recognition of an independent State of Palestine.

The group joins a long list of 157 nations that had previously done so. However, does the move constitute a turning point in the isolation of Israel on the world stage?

“It may be too soon to tell,” said Dr. Gerald Horne, author and professor of history at the University of Houston. “Some of the Palestinian leadership feels that it’s tardy—this recognition by France … Britain … Canada, Australia, amongst other nations,” he said, but added, “it’s significant.”

Dr. Horne told The Final Call that self-interests and local factors in the region prompted European nations to recognize Palestinian statehood. In two years of war and carnage of mostly civilians, Israel has not reached its own stated goal for the conflict, which was to eliminate Hamas.

“I think that France is making the calculation that a new approach is needed, because Israeli aggression is not working, and therefore it’s jeopardizing French interests and presumably European Union interests in the region,” said Dr. Horne.

“When you have this outlaw regime that is engaged in actions that are not working, you almost have to save that regime from itself to a certain degree,” he explained.

In a wider context, Dr. Horne explained, Israel has been a valuable imperialist tool of the West in the heart of Arab and Islamic territory but exercising a policy that is to its detriment: “They feel they have to save Israel from itself in order to preserve their own interests,” he said.

Some observers see the intensity of the effort to isolate Israel at the UN as unprecedented. As the only nuclear power in the region and being backed by the U.S.—the strongest economic and military power worldwide—Israel until now enjoyed being treated as untouchable.

However, like the scriptural Babylon, for its unchecked infractions, Israel has been weighed in the balance by public opinion and by The God of justice and has been found wanting.

Several months after the slaughter of Palestinians began on Oct.7, 2023, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam, declared that Mr. Netanyahu’s killing of currently more than 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza amounted to genocide.

Bassírou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Sénégal, addresses the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution (resumed), Sept. 22.

During his Saviours’ Day message, “What Does Allah The Great Mahdi And The Great Messiah Have to Say About The War In The Middle East?” delivered on February 25, 2024, Minister Farrakhan called on the nations around the world to respond to the unfolding atrocity.

“Who could do to another human being what is being done to our Palestinian family and not think of a humanitarian crisis?” Minister Farrakhan said.

“Who will pay for the killing of Palestinians—men, women and children? Who will pay for the destruction of Palestinian life and culture? Netanyahu thinks like Pharoah, that he’s God and he talks to America like he’s God,” he explained.

Minister Farrakhan and his teacher, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, warned world nations, and particularly America, about the consequences of their errant policies.

Both Divine Servants cautioned from scripture that every nation will be judged out of their own books and recorded deeds. Their good and evil actions will be weighed on the scale of justice, ultimately by the God of justice. Bloodletting and human rights abuse have been standard practices of Israeli regimes.

Palestinian blood also stains the hands of America, which financially supports Israel. Multiple billions of U.S. aid continues flowing to Israel, and their “unbreakable bond” remains, despite Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza. Even as Mr. Netanyahu address the UN, the Israeli regime continued its onslaught.

At Final Call presstime, Al Jazeera reported that at least 60 Palestinians had been killed in airstrikes on Sept. 26. “At least 30 of the victims were killed in Gaza City, where Israel has escalated its attacks since launching a ground operation on September 16,” reported Aljazeera.com.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan further warned that America would lose in the Middle East because of its relationship with Israel.

On page 171 in His illuminating book, “The Fall of America,” the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad warned of the terrible consequences of imposing Israel on Palestine.

“America and England deposited their little brother, Israel, on foreign soil, Palestine, which is Arab land. They deprived the Arabs of their own land and sent them into exile,” wrote the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

“This injustice against the Arabs is now costing America the power and authority that she once exercised in the East. She is on her way out of the Near East,” He wrote. “This means bloodshed and plenty of it,” he said.
