SCHERERVILLE, Ind.—For the 12-year-old and under group, Mother Khadijah Farrakhan’s Children’s Village was the highlight of Saviours’ Day. Each year since the 1990s.

Mother Khadijah, wife of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, has provided a space where children can be children and enjoy their time with other children. It’s where parents can meet other parents and children can make new friends.

This year’s Children’s Village was offsite at Up Your Alley in Schererville, Indiana. It offered activities for all ages. Children (and parents) bowled, had pizza and French fries.

Played cyber sports, laser tag, bumper cars, and had access to an entire arcade. On top of all of that, children entered the gift room where they picked two toys and two books.

“This was almost unbelievable,” Sister Rachel Muhammad from New York told The Final Call. “I’ve taken my children to the Children’s Village for years, but this was the best.

We had the space to ourselves and it was such a safe environment considering we were offsite. My children loved it and the gifts were amazing. They had great big smiles on their faces when they went in the gift room.”

She continued: “The gift room was a child’s wonderland. There were so many choices for girls and boys of all ages. The books were also a wide selection. My children love books and were happy to find some new titles. This Children’s Village will be hard to top next year. I can hardly imagine what Mother Farrakhan does next.”

The highlight for many parents was the arrival of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Mother Khadijah Farrakhan at the event. They were greeted with shouts and applause. The blessed and excited families were able to take a picture with either of them.

“I don’t know who was more excited to see Minister Farrakhan and Mother Khadijah—me or my children,” Sister Halimah Muhammad from Charlotte, N.C., told The Final Call.

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime event. One minute my children were in the bouncy house and the next we were looking at Minister Farrakhan. He’s so beautiful and kind.

He was gracious to the children and they, of course, were all smiles. Mother Farrakhan is a regular at the Children’s Village. This was the first time I’ve seen the Minister there.”

Mother Khadijah Farrakhan’s Children’s Village has become an intergenerational event that brings together parents and their children, as well as grandparents and their grandchildren.

The goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for children of all ages at Saviours’ Day. Mission accomplished. To continue supporting the efforts of Mother Khadijah Farrakhan’s Children’s Village, visit, www.childrensvillageonline.org.
