‘More Than A Vision:’ Bearing Witness to a Divine Man and Mission

I thank Allah, in the name of His Messiah, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, for blessing me to be able to bear witness to the divinity of the mission of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. I continuously thank Allah for the prayers of those who have and are praying for me.

I don’t want to go into details here, regarding my health condition. Most people say that I am “suffering” from Aphasia. I don’t see it that way. I see that I’m “learning” from Aphasia. For an introduction into what is Aphasia, go to www.aphasia.org.

This article introduces the next ten articles that appeared in the Final Call Newspaper in January 2006.

For this article I asked Sister Tracie Muhammad to give me some of her motivation for choosing “More Than a Vision” for The Final Call. Here are her words.

“The work entitled ‘More Than A Vision’ written by Brother Jabril Muhammad, which appeared in the Final Call newspaper for 19 consecutive weeks is a chapter from a book that has to date not been published.

“Brother Jabril was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, February 18, 2007 after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. On Thursday, February 22, 2007 I traveled to attend the Saviours’ Day convention in Detroit, Michigan, anxious to see and hear the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, but I traveled with a sense of dread due to concern for my Brother Jabril’s condition.

“While in Detroit, on many occasions I contemplated the momentous occasion of our return to the birthplace of the Nation of Islam and its significance. Never far from my thoughts however; was Brother Jabril, and the prospects for his full recovery. At approximately, 3:00 a.m. on the morning of Friday, February 23, 2007, I was abruptly awakened from an unusually deep sleep by a feeling that was similar to when a plane loses altitude very quickly, my only thought at that moment was Farrakhan The Traveler.

“I could not go back to sleep. I began to recall in my mind the visits I had with Brother Jabril just prior to his admission to the hospital. During the course of the last visit he spoke about the extensive research he had completed for his next set of articles and that he really wanted to get this information to the readers. The more I thought on the last time I saw him, the more I began to wonder if he had in fact written and sent these articles to the paper.

“Later that morning, I called the Final Call newspaper staff writer Brother Jesse Muhammad to inquire if the articles had been received by the Final Call newspaper to my disappointment they had not. I asked Bro. Jesse when the paper would need the articles in order to ensure that the column continued un-interrupted; I was informed that the deadline had passed.

“Contemplating intensely what could be done with the Farrakhan the Traveler column the whole situation began to take the shape of a mathematical problem in my mind, similar to the kinds of problems where the solution to the problem, is encoded in the very context of the problem.

“On Saturday, February 24, 2007 six days after being admitted to the hospital, Brother Jabril regained full consciousness. On Sunday, February 25, 2007, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan delivered his Saviours’ Day address.

“Standing center stage at Ford Field, Minister Farrakhan, fresh from an agonizing fight with death, exhibited intense faith and trust in Allah, Master Fard Muhammad, and His exalted living Christ, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. A little over an hour into Minister Farrakhan’s lecture the thought occurred to me what if Brother Jabril can’t write an article for weeks, maybe months, then what? Approximately a half-hour or so later I realized I was looking at the solution to that very complex mathematical problem, Minister Farrakhan himself.

“I was deeply moved by Minister Farrakhan’s heartfelt words at the end of the lecture where he expressed such gratitude to Allah for allowing him to finish the lecture he had just delivered. My thoughts began to search for a frame of historical reference for what I was witnessing and in that moment one writing by Brother Jabril came sharply to mind, “More Than a Vision.”

“In ‘More Than a Vision’ Brother Jabril painstakingly uses the Holy Qur’an, Bible, physical science history, and the science of mathematics, to detail a methodical defense of Minister Farrakhan’s More Than a Vision experience on the wheel in the most pristine manner.

“‘More Than a Vision,’ in my humble opinion, represents the convergence of testimony (evidence or proof supporting a fact) and testament (formal statement of beliefs). In science the word convergence means coming together at a single point from different directions. The word convergence is applicable in this instance because as Brother Jabril wrote once regarding the use of the title, Farrakhan The Traveler for his articles, that the title denoted in part that Minister Farrakhan was/is on a journey, with his more than a vision experience representing to me a partial culmination of that most auspicious journey. A journey, which has spanned decades covered thousands, upon thousands of miles and ultimately, has cost him more than what can be assessed in monetary terms.

“‘More Than a Vision’ not only contains the Minister’s testimony as a formal statement of actual facts but it also contains the proof of these facts contained within the testament. ‘More Than a Vision’ encapsulates in totality, the work and life experiences of both Minister Farrakhan and Brother Jabril as this particular work represents the quintessence of what we as followers of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad profess as a distinctive and critical facet of our faith, that the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad is physically alive and is backing and guiding his servant directly, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in his appointed mission.

“Why did I chose ‘More Than a Vision,’ because it represents the seamless convergence of the witness bearing of an extraordinary experience of an extraordinary man, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan of an extra extraordinary man–Elijah Muhammad, who introduces us all to Allah, God, in the person of Master Fard Muhammad, to whom all holy praises are forever due.”

By the help of Allah, I intend to write an explanation between the contents of these articles and Minister Farrakhan, what I call More Than a Vision and its bearing on Joseph’s vision in Surah 12.
