There have been many great and heroic figures in the struggle to free the Black man and woman in America, but none more successful than the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
Consider the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s history, His declarations, and His works.
Born in Sandersville, Georgia, in early October 1897, during Jim Crow, Elijah Muhammad barely got to the fourth grade of school before the doors closed. Like many of our people, He moved North and settled in the impoverished Black Bottom community in Detroit.
There He met a man, Master Fard Muhammad, whom He declared to be The Great Mahdi, God in Person, spoken of in Genesis 15:13 in the Bible. “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.” (KJV)
It is difficult for many—due to fear and being educated by our open enemies—to even think that this verse is speaking of the present day, where the only people in recorded history that were held in bondage for 400 years by a “stranger” in a land that “is not theirs” is the Black man and woman of America brought over during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
Master Fard Muhammad taught Elijah for three years and four months years before He departed, leaving Elijah with what is described as “the hardest job” for any man—which is “raising the dead.”
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad then destroyed the myth that the slave master embedded in the slave’s mind, that “the dead” means people buried in the cemetery. The dead means resurrecting a mentally and spiritually dead people to reclaim their proper place on this Earth.
And that is the Black man and woman of America.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad was the first to talk about a huge flying object in existence that harbored many smaller flying vessels. He taught that Black people piloted these objects. Most Black people mocked this Teaching as science fiction, only to consider it as fact when White scientists verified there are flying objects in the sky.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad was the only teacher who declared that a human being can live many hundreds of years if they knew “How to Eat to Live.” Today, His dietary Teachings are verified by Caucasian dieticians and repurposed in fads like intermittent fasting and other models.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad even told scientists how the moon got there and what they would find once they landed on it. Again, astronauts said there was a smell of gunpowder in the samples they brought back, just as the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught Black self-sufficiency. He established trade with foreign nations—the Nation of Islam was one of the largest importers of fish—and He had the most disciplined and moral group of Black people in America.
While the slave master and his children made “race” a determining factor in the delivery of justice, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad was called a racist when He declared that the Black man is the “Original Man” on the planet—a fact verified by science and scientists—and He described how other “races” came into existence.
The one thing they do not call the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, however, is a liar.
In various places, scripture talks about knowing a tree by the fruit it bears and also, knowing a man or woman by their works. The question to consider: Who is this man, Elijah Muhammad? And how did He come to know what He knows?
Mark 6:4 says, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” (NKJV) We are not saying the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is a prophet. He is much more than that. The prophecies have been given. Elijah comes in the era of fulfillment.
People living in the days of the prophets did not see them for who they really were. The people of Noah, Lot, Salih, Hud and others in the Bible and Holy Qur’an were destroyed because they did not recognize the “grace of God” that was among them. Not many of the contemporaries of Jesus recognized him for who he was and is. The people he came to save allowed him to be crucified.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad warned in His books that America is first on God’s list to be destroyed because of her treatment of Black people, the real Children of Israel.
He said the forces of nature would be used to bring her to her knees, along with a decimating war. We see the natural disasters on the increase today, along with nations preparing for a major conflict.
The best example of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s divinity is the fruit He bore. There is no other person in America who comes close to the reformation work of the Black man and woman greater than the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s students. The greatest among them is in our midst today—the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
Minister Farrakhan is to the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad as Aaron was to Moses. But Aaron also had a rod representing his authority. That authority was demonstrated on Oct. 16, 1995, when Minister Farrakhan called for the Million Man March and two million men showed up.
The Minister’s connection with a Superior Power is demonstrated in his ability to tell presidents of the United States of their secret counsels, and his ability to interfere with their plans. He has warned Black youth that the day will come when the military will patrol the streets of America with an aim to destroy them.
In the Holy Qur’an, Allah says a Messenger’s duty is only to deliver the message. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and His student of grace to the world, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, have done their jobs.
It is up to the people to heed the message or suffer the consequences.
