CHICAGO—Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad, National Assistant to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, recently delivered the second part of a spiritual message from Nation of Islam headquarters at Mosque Maryam in Chicago. On September 10, he shared a message titled, “The People and The Messenger of God, Part 2,” which was also streamed live via webcast.

“There are many descriptions of us in the Bible. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad pointed out to us several. Chief among them are the parables that Jesus gave of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, Lazarus and the Prodigal Son,” he stated during his opening remarks.

Student Minister Ishmael explained that in the scripture the prophets described us as a “foolish people,” “blind, deaf and dumb,” “lame,” and “dead.” He told the audience not to be upset or disturbed by those descriptions. “But God would choose a people like this, yes, for Himself,” he explained.

Student Minister Ishmael shared that the book of Ezekial, Chapter 16 verses 4-5, describes the condition of the Black man and woman. The verses state: “On the day you were born, no one cared about you. Your umbilical cord was not cut, and you were never washed, rubbed with salt, and wrapped in cloth.

No one cared enough for you to do even one of these things out of compassion for you. Instead, you were thrown out into the open field, because you were despised on the day of your birth. Then I passed by and saw you wallowing in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, ‘Live!’ There I said to you, ‘Live!’”

After Caucasians got all of the utility out of Black people through 310 years of chattel slavery and after the Emancipation Proclamation, it was like throwing us out into an open field, continued Student Minister Ishmael. “They did not give us the tools that were necessary to build and be independent of them. They never gave us the requisite knowledge of self that they stole from us!”

Whites robbed Blacks of their language, culture and so much more, he explained. But there is one prophesied to come with healing in His wings to restore, reform, clean us up, and place us on top of civilization, Student Minister Ishmael continued.
