To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the historic Million Man March and Holy Day of Atonement, on October 16, Muslim followers of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Farrakhan participated in a nationwide “Day of Service.”
October 16 was declared a Holy Day and is a day of absence, includes prayer, no work, no school, and no shopping unless with a Black-owned business. It is also a day dedicated to service.
On October 16, the Fruit of Islam (F.O.I.) and Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class (M.G.T. and G.C.C.) around the country distributed meals, personal hygiene products, Final Call newspapers and more to residents in their respective communities.
