DETROIT—Muhammad University of Islam (M.U.I.) is a shining example of the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and what believers can achieve through collaboration. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad has said that our unity is more powerful than a hydrogen or atomic bomb.
Recently, this unity between M.U.I. students, teachers, parents, laborers, and Muslims of Muhammad Mosque No. 1 culminated in a successful banquet. The event took place on July 12 at Mosque No. 1.
Student Minister Troy Muhammad shared pivotal words with banquet attendees. He said that when Muhammad University of Islam was established by Allah (God) in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, it was more than just education; it was about creating a new world.
He went on to share a quote from the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad that states, “I want an education for our people that would let them exercise the right of freedom.”
Student M.G.T. Captain Dr. Missey Muhammad also shared remarks and shared a quote from the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, stating that “Education is the torchlight of civilization” and that “proper education begins with the knowledge of God.” Then she declared, “So where are we getting the knowledge of God from? You’re given it at M.U.I.!’’

Sister Khalidah Muhammad was an M.U.I. student from kindergarten through 12th grade. She shared her experience as a student of M.U.I. With the education she received, Sister Khalidah was qualified to attend one of the most prestigious universities that America has to offer, the University of California, Berkeley.
She graduated from that institution and is now starting her first year of law school. Sister Khalidah credits her believing mother for placing her under the guidance and protection of M.U.I.
She also acknowledged the role of the community of believers in creating and supporting a school where she could learn about herself, be herself and engage in learning at a superior level.

The keynote speaker at the banquet was Brother Dr. Anthony Muhammad. Brother Dr. Anthony attends Mosque No. 1 and is an internationally known educator, CEO of his own educational company and an author. His message was entitled, “Education:
The Foundation of Civilization.” He shared that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said that he wants Muhammad University of Islam to be “the system of schooling for those who survive the War of Armageddon.”
He explained M.U.I. was the vehicle to produce and inspire our children to become architects, doctors, engineers, geologists, and all that we need for our Nation.
A delicious dinner was prepared and served by Brother Chef Nate and a delicious cake was prepared by master baker, Sister Tanisha Muhammad.
The M.U.I. Detroit banquet demonstrated that with unity and love, we can accomplish great things, advance our children, and experience the happiness promised to us by Allah (God), as taught by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
