ST. PETERSBURG, Florida—Muhammad Mosque No. 95 in St. Petersburg, Florida, recently welcomed Student Minister Nuri Muhammad, who delivered the Sunday mosque meeting message titled, “1Hood Under God.”
Believers, visitors and first-time guests enjoyed the message by Student Min. Nuri of Mosque No. 74 in Indianapolis. Some of the key points of his message focused on righteousness and nation-building, first starting with the family.
“The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, ‘Where you have no strong marriages, you cannot have strong families. And, when you have no strong families, you don’t have strong communities,’” said Student Min. Nuri to the audience during the June 22 message.
“I enjoyed the brother coming out and speaking about brotherhood and sisterhood and how we all need to come together as one and get our neighborhood back and not just have it a ’hood and also so that we can be able to come as one and build back our community so that we can raise our kids to become leaders,” said first-time guest Kanique Heath.
Shauntia Elias also enjoyed the message and expressed interest in learning more about the Nation of Islam. “I thank Brother Nuri for the message that went forward today that we [were] able to receive and hear and apply to all hearts and minds,” she said.
“It really gave me an eye-opener on how to first create power [with] self-discipline and love. I really enjoyed it and I’ll be back.” said guest Chadera King.
Student 7th Regional Minister Patrick Muhammad and Student Minister Chad Muhammad of Mosque No. 47 in Tampa were also in attendance, as were Muslims from Tampa and other nearby areas. It was a special meeting as Muslims from other mosques and study groups in Florida also attended.
“The message was timely and well needed. The spirit was high, and Brother Nuri was phenomenal. It was good to see the cities come together in unity: Tampa’s Muhammad Mosque No. 47, St. Petersburg’s Muhammad Mosque No. 95 and the Winterhaven Study Group,” said Student Minister Chad.
Student Min. Patrick agreed. “I thank Allah so much for the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This Sunday here in St. Petersburg, it was an inspiring Sunday to see the believers in St. Pete, to see also the believers that came out of Tampa and Winter Haven,” he said.
Student Min. Nuri did a “fantastic” job delivering the message, he added.
“The highlight, which I was so elated about … was the fact that there were [43] first-time guests that came. [It was] enlightening, inspiring, and they caught on to the message,” Student Min. Patrick said.
