BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Student Minister James Muhammad and the laborers of Mosque No. 69 in Birmingham, Alabama, were captivated by the Nation of Islam Musical Ensemble “The Sounds of Harmony” concert which took place in Atlanta late last year.
The ensemble, inspired by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, consists of gifted youth and young adult musicians and composers and demonstrates high civilization and culture through music.
The Ministry of Arts and Culture for Mosque No. 69 was inspired by the performance and sponsored young Brother Marquise, 11, to start beginner violin lessons. Bro. Marquese’s sharp mind and excellent reading skills impressed the laboring staff, which hopes to sponsor other students in the future.
