While Americans celebrated the so-called Thanksgiving holiday and sought after shopping deals, Allah (God) dropped freezing temperatures on parts of the country that forecasters described as “dangerously cold.”
Thanksgiving travelers and Black Friday shoppers were greeted with an arctic blast that affected tens of millions of people in the Midwest and East, following a winter storm that dropped snow and rain.
Many areas saw below-average temperatures from Friday, Nov. 29, to the beginning of the next week. In the Upper Midwest and northern Plains, temperatures dropped several degrees below zero, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Weather Prediction Center.
The cold temperatures elicited threats of hypothermia and frostbite for people with exposed, unprotected skin in parts of the Dakotas and Minnesota, according to Fox Weather. The news service advised travelers to have a winter survival kit, in the wake of winds drastically increasing.
In the Southeast, including in parts of Florida and Georgia, news alerts warned of sub-freezing temperatures as low as 20 and 30 degrees, down from the 60s and 70s some southern states were experiencing the majority of November.
AccuWeather described the arctic blast as the “coldest start to December in years.”
“Many areas across the northern tier will start the month of December with temperatures well below historical averages,” AccuWeather’s lead long-range expert Paul Pastelok said.
The Great Lakes region experienced lake-effect snow, which is snow that happens when cold air, often originating from Canada, passes over warm lake water, according to the National Weather Service. The mixture of heat and moisture causes clouds to form and grow. Those clouds then drop heavy snow downwind of the lake.
The Great Lakes were experiencing record warm water temperatures before the cold air swept through, according to Fox Weather. Millions ranging from New York and Pennsylvania to Ohio were under Lake-Effect Snow Warnings. The National Weather Service predicted 4-8 inches of snow in some places.
As the cold front and lake-effect snow hit, forecasters warned against traveling, saying it would be very difficult or impossible. The National Weather Service office in Gray, Maine, advised people to delay all travel if possible, and if travel was absolutely necessary, to drive with extreme caution.
Meanwhile, as the East and Midwest experienced extreme cold, parts of California were issued a dense fog warning said to reduce visibility for drivers, and drivers in Oregon and Washington were threatened with icy roads, as freezing fog advisories were issued.
Snow is one of the four great judgments of America that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Eternal Leader of the Nation of Islam, warned the country of. The other three were rain, hail and earthquakes.
In his book, “The Fall of America,” the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad described snow as one of the most dreaded plagues “when it comes in great drifts from five to thirty-five feet.”
“It buries your property and lives. It destroys your highways, your cities, and your concrete and gravel in towns and cities. It puts a great burden of expense upon the cities. It puts a great burden of expense upon the city to repair it.
The cave-in of roofs of homes, the cutting off of homes, the cutting off of transportation, isolating areas, brings about starvation. And communication is destroyed with the icing of communication wires,” he wrote.
“Snow looks pretty because of its clean look. Almost everything of nature is beautiful, but it can be turned into death and destruction against man,” he added.
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad referenced the Book of Job in the Bible, Chapter 38, verses 22 and 23, saying that snow is prophesied to be one of the weapons that God will use against the wicked and against America.
The verses read: “Hast thou entered into the treasure house of the snow, or hast thou seen the treasure house of the hail, which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?”
As the National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has continued his teacher’s warnings of what would happen to America if she did not repent to God for her evils done to Black people and Indigenous people.
Minister Farrakhan warned, from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, that God would surround the coasts with His judgment.
“They had six feet of ice in the Southern United States. It was six feet, ice, in warm climates. Have you noticed how warm it was yesterday, the day before, the day before that?
They didn’t tell you how many people died, did they? God is punishing,” Minister Farrakhan said in a message titled, “The Man Jesus And How Not To Fall Into Idolatry,” delivered on July 21, 2019.
“The Messenger told me, we were sitting at the table, ‘The temperature would be taken up into the high 90s and then within hours, it will drop down into freezing. So, while your pores are open for the heat, by dropping the temperature so fast, the cold will come right into your system and you will die from the effect of it,” he continued.
In another message delivered on Nov. 18, 2018, at the Nation of Islam’s flagship Mosque Maryam in Chicago, Minister Farrakhan issued his oft-repeated warning to “watch the weather.”
“Watch what is happening to America and the world with weather. You said Allah doesn’t need these little cheap weapons to fight with. He fights with rain, hail, snow, earthquakes, wind, fire, and freezing cold. Allah has destroyed nations with gnats. Just a bug—you can’t fight Allah and win,” he said.
“After I give a lecture, I tell the people to watch the weather and then I leave. I’m going to say it again when I leave here, watch the weather and see what Allah is going to do inside and outside of America.”
