To commemorate the 29th anniversary of the Million Man March and Holy Day of Atonement, on October 16, Muslim followers of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Farrakhan participated in a nationwide “Day of Service.”
October 16 was declared a Holy Day and is a day of absence, which includes no work, no school, no shopping but is a day dedicated to prayer, sacrifice, and service.
On October 16, the Fruit of Islam (F.O.I.) and M.G.T. and G.C.C. (Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class) distributed healthy meals, clothing items, personal hygiene products, Final Call newspapers and more to residents in their respective communities.
