DETROIT—On Saturday, February 24, attendees filled-to-capacity meeting room 330B at Huntington Place for the workshop: “How to Eat to Live: Recovering from Chronic Illness, Cancer, & COVID-19,” during the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day convention.
Included on the panel of health professionals who shared practical applications of “How To Eat To Live” From God In Person Master Fard Muhammad by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, were Sister Dr. Safiyya Shabazz (owner and director of Fountain Medical Associates), Sister Dr. Danita Muhammad (Osteopathic M.D.),
Brother Dr. Akili Graham Muhammad (general family physician who practices in Houston, Texas) and Sister Anissa Muhammad (Los Angeles-based public health expert) and Sis. Dr. Christina X Parks (Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology). Sister Vickie Muhammad, Sis. Najmah Muhammad and Sis. Naomi Muhammad shared extraordinary healing testimonies.
“The truth is, the War of Armageddon has begun and what we would like to do today is first, sort of the gift that Allah has given me, is to really look deeply into the mechanism by which these weapons that have been brought against us are destroying our health,” Sis. Dr. Christina X stated.
She simplified the powerful science of the mechanisms of injury and how what the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave to his followers is the antidote to the enemy’s weapons of mass destruction against them. The real epidemic within the community is that epidemics are related—autoimmunity, chronic illnesses, diabetes, cancer and obesity, she explained.
“We are not suffering, in many cases, from all these different illnesses. We are suffering from our bodies being out of balance, a lack of balance, and in many cases, extreme immune dysfunction,” Sis. Dr. Christina X added.
Statistically, she said:
• One in six children has a neurological disorder;
• Half of all children suffer from a chronic illness;
• One in five people will suffer from an autoimmune disorder;
• There have been dramatic increases in cancer in younger people (30-50 years of age);
• Childhood cancer rates have jumped 30 percent.
She gave a further explanation of inflammation and immune dysregulation, and how it leads to autoimmunity, huge rates of cancer, and inflammation, thus exacerbating everything from diabetes to Alzheimer’s.
Sis. Dr. Christina also explained the problems with live viral vaccines such as Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], chicken pox and old polio vaccines and how as a result, people are inundated with both animal and human retroviruses that have been spread to the vaccines.
“Get in a car accident, it reactivates the virus that you didn’t know about. They don’t catch it. You don’t know what it is. You’ve got all kinds of chronic health problems and you don’t know what’s going on,” she said. Similar injuries are caused by the Childhood Vaccination Schedule, she added. Sis. Dr. Christina then gave explanations about the impact of chronic immune system activation and how drugs are not the solution.
“The spike protein is highly, highly inflammatory. It is a biological weapon, whether you get it from the disease or the vaccination,” she stated, speaking about the COVID-19 shot.
One could almost hear a pin drop during her presentation. “In addition, the vaccination itself is hyper, hyper-inflammatory and, and it shuts off your immune system.”
The weapons given to fight this onslaught are in “How To Eat To Live,” the books written by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Sis. Dr. Christina added.
One meal a day as prescribed in the books reduces inflammation, immune activation, leaky gut, toxic load and that burden on the immune system, and insulin, which drives metabolic disorder and diabetes, which causes inflammation.
An amazing weapon given by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is the Three-Day National Fast, she continued. “It actually resets your immune system. … The other thing that it does is it breaks down cellular stuff that shouldn’t be there and that includes the spike protein.”
The Three-Day National Fast also silences viruses and activates cellular healing, the genes that rejuvenate the body. In terms of physical and emotional trauma coded within DNA, she added, “When you fast for three days, you actually reset your epigenetics. You actually are getting rid of transgenerational trauma. … When you fast for 72 hours, you activate the production of stem cells that make you grow younger.”
Sis. Anissa Muhammad discussed how growing food in nutrient-deficient soil leads to nutritional inadequacies or deficits. She advocated testing for nutritional deficits, especially in children. “If you catch it in early stages, you can give some sort of standard of care, be it herbs or more nutritional food, something that can help build their immune system back up to where it should be,” she said.
“The root of all disease is spiritual,” explained Sis. Dr. Darnita Muhammad, quoting the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
She spoke on the spiritual aspect of health and healing, specifically for the more serious conditions, such as cancers, autoimmune illnesses and neurological conditions.
Such diagnoses are not easy, she acknowledged, but a first step toward healing is to look at it, not retreat into denial. She highlighted ways to begin detoxification and decrease stress and anxiety and she talked about understanding “science” in the realm of faith, the mind and spirituality for health and healing—as it occurs through prayer and study.
“You don’t have to be a superwoman or superman. … You have to know that Allah, God, however you know the Creator, is with you and your body wants to be whole. Allah wants us to heal,” Sis. Dr. Darnita shared. She added, “Do not give in to it. Allah is the ultimate decider. But, we have to fight and we can fight.”
“The basis of our health plan is two main things: ‘How To Eat To Live’ and the Restrictive Law,” said Sis. Dr. Shabazz, who went into health benefits from a sole source, according to the Teachings.
“The Honorable Elijah Muhammad told me that in the Sun, there are billions of vitamins that you can’t get in anything that is created except through the Sun,” said Dr. Shabazz, quoting an excerpt from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s December 2020, “Message to the National Leadership Summit.” Sis. Dr. Shabazz went on to share what she’s been learning about the healing aspects of the sun and the benefits of light. For example, early light exposure helps to reset one’s internal clock or circadian rhythm.
“Just to sum it up, go outside! … and go to bed,” urged Sis. Dr. Shabazz.
As a cancer survivor, Sister Najma Muhammad urged unity and support. She was in the small three percent that was allergic to her treatment and subsequently had to navigate herself through healing. “In that process, I found out that so many of us don’t know how to advocate for ourselves,” she said. Her objective is to help develop a support group within the Nation of Islam for those with various illnesses, but her passion is cancer, she said.
“I didn’t know what to do, but I thank Allah for the words of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. He called me up and he said, ‘Follow your doctor’s advice. Do what they say to do and Allah will bless you to be successful,’” she stated.
Sister Vickie Muhammad shared with workshop attendees that she has been eating one meal every three days for just over a year. After two stress-related heart attacks, which she thought was ‘just indigestion,’ she submitted to the Teachings, but one meal every other day, or every two days worked for her. She tackled one meal every three days and her doctor, three months later, found only scar tissue where the heart attacks were. In another three months, her doctors couldn’t even see where she’d had heart attacks, she said.
“I was doing it for health reasons but there were so many other things that I got from it. I got spiritual enhancement. … He’s given me spiritual abilities that I didn’t even know existed. I wish I had done this a long time ago, because I’m making a connection with the God,” she stated.
Sister Naomi Muhammad of Phoenix has suffered multiple seizures due to immune malfunction. She’s had major surgeries and, like Sis. Vickie, she contacted Bro. Dr. Akili. She did a six-month detox on “How to Eat to Live,” she said.
“I am now not suffering from any seizures at all. … Every week I would fast one day, I built myself up to two, and right at the beginning of February, I finally was able to do the three-day fast,” Sister Naomi shared.
Bro. Dr. Akili stated plainly to those in attendance to get into “How To Eat To Live,” and practice it.
He recited from Book 1, page 34: “I offer you His teachings and it is up to you to accept or reject them. But, I repeat, His is the best way as He says in the Holy Qu-ran, ‘I Allah am the Best Knower’ (Chapter 2, verse 1). Since He represents Himself as the Best Knower, then it is nothing but intelligence on our part to follow and obey that Best Knower Who gives the best advice and Whose guidance is best for our future regardless of what we desire. He is the Best Knower of what guidance we should have.”
