BALTIMORE—Muhammad Mosque No. 6 in Baltimore started the celebration of the 28th Anniversary of the Million Man March and the Holy Day of Atonement. On Saturday, October 14, the mosque hosted a panel discussion looking at the March and what’s happened 28 years later. The event was held at Dorothy I. Height Elementary School.

The panel featured Dr. Tyrone Powers, CEO of The Powers Consulting Group, LLC, and Dr. Ray Winbush, research professor at Morgan State University; Dr. Andre Bundley, whose work focuses on Black male engagement. The panel was moderated by Student Minister Abdul Salaam of Muhammad Mosque No. 6.

“This was an excellent session to educate our community on the March, its goals and what has happened since then. Many people were young at the time of the March, some were not even born. This event gave them an opportunity to learn what schools don’t teach,” Student Minister Salaam told The Final Call.
