Nearly two decades ago, a vision was born—a vision that sought to empower, inspire, and celebrate a lifestyle that embodies beauty, power, elegance, positivity, and strength. Today, as we commemorate 19 years of Virtue Today magazine, we reflect on the remarkable journey of a publication that has not only redefined the narrative of modest fashion but has also been a steadfast companion in our collective quest for wellness, abundance, and style.

From the very beginning, Virtue Today magazine set out to be more than just another publication. Over the years, it has featured uplifting articles that have touched every facet of our lives—from health and finance to fashion and fitness.

To celebrate this milestone, Virtue Today magazine’s 19th Anniversary book will give the readers a tour down memory lane and allow them to revisit the historical covers of Virtue Today magazine and the reasons behind them.  Virtue Today magazine has featured on the cover Student Minister Dr. Ava Muhammad;

Sister Dr. Audrey Muhammad

Mother Tynnetta Muhammad; the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan; rapper and influencer, Neelam Hakeem; Dr. Iman Ali; rapper and influencer Akilah Nehanda; activist YoNasDa LoneWolf; artist Erykah Badu and Student Minister Nuri Muhammad and his beautiful wife, Sister Terri Muhammad, and many more.

Virtue Today magazine has given artists and innovators a voice and a platform.  When modest designers didn’t have a place to showcase their fashions, Virtue was there. Over the years, the magazine has featured top modest designers including Exclusive Designs, Queen Aminah’s Freedom Apparel, Newell Apparel, Taha 20, Kameelah’s Closet, Al Nisa Designs, Belle D Kouture, Orchid Allure and DeModest.

Showcasing Black businesses was also a fundamental focus of Virtue Today. It gave small businesses an opportunity to help promote their product or service.  Virtue Today magazine’s editor is Sister Dr. Audrey Muhammad, who is an English professor and long-time educator by profession.

One of the unique sections in the magazine is the spiritual message. It is the only magazine that has featured a message from Minister Farrakhan in every issue for the past 19 years.  The Minister told Sister Dr. Audrey that Virtue Today was “a powerful tool to uplift women.”  It even became a favorite among the M.G.T. and G.C.C. when the National M.G.T. Office, under the guidance of Sister Student National Captain Naeemah Muhammad, incorporated Virtue magazine as a Saviours’ Day Gift along with other items for the past couple of years.

“I am so thankful for the support of the M.G.T.,” said Sister Dr. Audrey. “It is because of the M.G.T. that Virtue has been around for the past 19 years. Both the M.G.T. and F.O.I. have shown their appreciation of a magazine that highlights modesty.  Many brothers have purchased copies for their wives or daughters because it shows them positive images of Black women.”

In the anniversary book, there is a special section dedicated to the M.G.T. and G.C.C. as well as a shout out to the F.O.I. for their support over the years.

To celebrate Virtue Today magazine’s 19th Anniversary, the editor developed a unique book that features holistic health expert Queen Afua. When asked why she was chosen for the cover, editor Sister Dr. Audrey Muhammad said, “Queen Afua is a person I have admired for years.  When I met Queen Afua over 15 years ago in Oakland at a conference, I was touched by her dedication to helping women take care of themselves and their families.

She inspired women to eat better and take care of their bodies. She told me that the book, ‘How to Eat to Live’and a book by Dick Gregory helped to put her on the path to healing herself and others.  She is one of many who embody the traits of a virtuous woman that the Bible describes.”

Also featured in this book will be the last interview Virtue Today magazine had with Student Minister Dr. Ava Muhammad.

Also included in this book will be chapters on:

-Self-Care

-Getting Fit to Live

-How to Rear Your Children

-A Tribute to the M.G.T. and G.C.C. and much more!
