Some may find it hard to believe that 10 years have passed since the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, delivered his unprecedented online lecture series entitled, “The Time and What Must Be Done,” from the historic Final Call Administration Building in Chicago.

However, everything that the Minister revealed over the 58-week series—from war, extreme weather, the importance of Blacks acquiring land, U.S. foreign policy, the machinations of the Synagogue of Satan, and much more—was God speaking to the world, through him, and everything is right in front of humanity today, “manifesting before our very eye,” Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad, National Assistant to Minister Farrakhan told The Final Call.

According to Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad, it does not feel or appear that those monumental broadcasts were done in a time past, because what Allah (God) gave the Minister to share with the world, and what he represented, from the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The broadcasts were and are all relevant to, 1) Black people’s condition; 2) the events that are taking place in the world today; and 3) the weather, politics, violence, and the unraveling of this great nation, the United States of America.

“That’s why they (“The Time” lecture series) continue to resonate, and that’s why the Teachings are sought after, looked for, and they resonate with those who lend their ear to this Teaching because it’s right on time,” said Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad.

From part 1 which originally aired on January 12, 2013, to part 58 (“The Shadow Government: Guidance to President Obama and the Nation, Part 3”), what Minister Farrakhan shared was as he said from the outset, given to the world by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

In 1972, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad presented a lecture series entitled, “The Theology of Time.” The Eternal Leader of the Nation of Islam spoke every week from Mosque No. 2 (now called Mosque Maryam) on many aspects of what He had taught, nearly 40 years before the Minister delivered those monumental lectures, noted Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad.

Minister Farrakhan introduced the portion of the Islamic book of scripture on which the series is based.  “There is a Surah (Chapter) in the Holy Qur’an that I shall quote as the basis for this yearlong subject, which is Surah 103 Al-Asr (‘The Time’),” the Minister said.

“It reads: ‘Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim (In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful). By the time!—Surely man is in loss, Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin one another to Truth, and enjoin one another to patience.’”

In this Qur’anic chapter, “Time” is a Yardstick of Measurement of Consequence, the Minister explained. By the time! Surely man is in loss). So, ‘The Time’ will determine: 1) Whether we lose, whether we win; 2) Whether we live, or whether we die; and 3) Whether we suffer privation, or whether we grow in prosperity.

It all depends on what we do with the knowledge of The Time,” stated Minister Farrakhan, a decade ago. Today, the now-90-year-old world leader continues to be a divine teacher, warner and guide from Allah (God) to the world.

Revelation and a wealth of knowledge

The Minister gave a sum total of the revelation of Allah, Who Came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, the Great Mahdi, to His servant, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, explained Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad. Further, he taught about the time that the world of Satan was given, the Divine Judgment of Allah (God) against America, and the history that the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught about the Caucasian people which includes the making of the devil, and why Satan was brought into existence.

Additional topics the Minister delved into during the broadcasts included: what foods to eat, and those to avoid; how to eat to live; the chemicals and poisons being put in the food and water; farming as the engine of a nation; what the Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught about the Mother Plane and the existence of the wheel-like objects the U.S. government are now confirming are being seen in the skies.

How Allah made that greatest, most sophisticated mechanical, military object ever made, and the two dispensations of that Wheel—that is an actual city in the sky—were also topics the Minister taught on, noted Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad.

In addition, he highlighted the Minister reintroduced “Muhammad’s Economic Program and Blueprint: Ending Poverty and Want” (economicblueprint.org) for Black people to begin to pool their resources to purchase land, build businesses in our communities and more. He exposed the Synagogue of Satan and defeated and destroyed the false charge of anti-Semitism leveled against him, the Nation of Islam, and the origin of that false charge.

“He gave us so much wealth of knowledge, information, facts, resources, references, documents! I mean, that was a monumental work, that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan did as a great testimony and witness-bearing of the Teaching of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad,” Student Minister Ishmael Muhammad continued.

More people are still watching this series, and it is increasingly clearer who the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is and who his backers are, said Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad, social media director for Minister Farrakhan and “general” of the Farrakhan Twitter Army. “It’s a very phenomenal thing to mark 10 years later. And it also, with us, should be a great reflection on who this man is, and why God caused him to deliver such a series for us,” he said.

The series was initially planned as 52 weeks but was extended due to divinely selected messages delivered during previous years, being broadcast while the Minister paused for a sabbatical, according to Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad. “Yet, we found that even those were on time,” he stated. Those selected messages included the Minister’s lectures about “The Mother Plane, Allah’s Calling Card,” so the world was blessed with six more broadcasts, explained Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad.

Despite dealing with illness at that time, the Minister never failed in his duty to deliver the message he was given, and on some days, recorded multiple broadcasts, he stated.

For Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad, what stood out the most to him is that Minister Farrakhan accomplished what had never been done through YouTube and social media. The Minister inspired young people inside and outside the Nation of Islam around the country and the world to gather every Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, when the broadcasts aired.

From their homes, dorm rooms or other places, the Farrakhan Twitter Army went to work, not to spread foolishness, filth and gossip, but to hurl truth at falsehood on social media. Participants would live-tweet and post excerpts from what Minister Farrakhan shared which on several occasions would trend on the social media platform.

“No leader, no organization, no dignitary, no world leader was utilizing social media like the Minister at all. So, the immediate impact was the effect on the young people, who were seeing other young people utilizing social media like this and getting it trended,” stated Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad.

Impact on youth

Sister Anisah Muhammad, a Final Call contributing writer, was 15 when she joined the Farrakhan Twitter Army and began listening to “The Time” series. She, and her peers, were greatly impacted by it, she said.

“It gave us a reason to come to the mosque and a reason to really listen to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan because we’re actually tweeting his words, we’re transcribing his words to the world, and so it really just gave us a purpose for existing in the Nation of Islam, for listening to the Minister, and for taking his message on for ourselves,” she said.

Sister Anisah Muhammad, who attends Muhammad Mosque No. 15B in College Park, Georgia, listened to and retweeted “The Time” series multiple times, and attributes that experience to her eventually becoming a Final Call contributor and joining the Nation of Islam. It helped her to work on her purpose, and a year after the series, she turned 16, and a few months later, she joined the Nation, she said.

“One interaction that comes to mind, outside of getting cussed out as a teenager (she laughs)—because people were upset—but I would just leave them with the light of understanding, ‘May Allah bless you,’” Sister Anisah Muhammad reflected. She also said there were other people who would ask genuine questions out of curiosity and a desire to find out more about what the Minister shared. “ I would respond to them, and they were like, ‘Thank you!  I really didn’t know that!’” she recalled.

The ability to dialogue with her people in that manner via social media, in addition to the impact “The Time And What Must Be Done” lecture series had on youth in the Nation, aided her personal growth and development, said Sister Anisah Muhammad. “At least 3-4 of my closest friends that I still talk to today were also tweeting in the Farrakhan Twitter Army and now we’re all young adults, still in this mission, still serving, still working.”

This was also the case for Sister Nzinga Muhammad, now approaching her second year as a graduate student at New York University. She attends Mosque No. 25 in Newark, New Jersey. “The Time” series began when she was 13, and with her mother’s encouragement, she began tweeting it from her mother’s phone and account until she got her own. Four years after “The Time,” she became a registered Muslim in the Nation of Islam.

“The Minister told us during ‘The Time’ series not to get down in the gutter with them (critics). So, the series was not only this interactive thing for young people in the Nation to get into, but it was a lesson as to the proper ways of handling people with standards of righteous conduct on social media, for us all,” said Sister Nzinga Muhammad

The series enlightened her about social media’s power and the effectiveness of spreading the truth worldwide, she said. That became essential for Sunday lectures, Saviours’ Day keynote addresses, and other events where the Minister speaks and shares the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

“‘The Time’ series and the Farrakhan Twitter Army gave me a sense of belonging and importance in the Nation, as someone in really a transitional phase. I was not yet of age to be registered in the Nation, but also not exactly fitting in with the smaller children. Tweeting became a post in itself, and in truth, part of the ministry that used technology to spread the Teachings to every corner of the world within seconds.”

A tremendous team effort

The feedback—bad, good and seemingly negative—inspired certain topics of the series, which shows the heart and mind of Minister Farrakhan, Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad shared. The Minister wasn’t offended by people disagreeing, but just saw it as Allah using and inspiring him to address necessary things, he added. The feedback was so enormous, that the Minister out-trended the NBA Finals, the World Series, and even popular movies put out in Hollywood that had millions of dollars for advertising on Twitter, he said.

Through the Minister’s guidance, his Twitter Army had the lecture series trending nationally, every single week, without fail, until the social media platforms started shadow-banning him and those tweeting his words towards the end, according to Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad.

“That alone should let people know the impact of the truth is, and the other side of it from the behind the scenes aspect, the Minister and the Nation of Islam Research Team, and all on staff at The Final Call, who worked so diligently to help him in Chicago, in other broadcasts recorded in Phoenix, Arizona, that was a team effort helping the Minister.”

Final Call General Manager Abdul Rasul Muhammad, Editor-in-Chief Naba’a Muhammad, The Final Call video and editorial staff worked diligently each week to make the broadcasts and coverage comprehensive and informative.

“And we also have to acknowledge his wonderful son, Brother Joshua Farrakhan, who was inspired by Allah to go to his father with this idea of doing this series, as well,” said Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad.
