CHICAGO—The Mahdi Theatre Company is presenting an encore performance of its popular stage presentation, “A Soldier’s Daughter.” The play was produced and written by Margaret Mahdi, the founder and artistic director of The Mahdi Theatre Company, and directed by Runako Jahi.
The play debuted in March to three sold-out performances and is back by popular demand! “The basis of the story represents love, obedience, and sacrifice. The main character, Lewis, has to make a decision to either choose her dream that she’s had since a child which is finally coming into fruition or relinquish that to care for a loved one, her dad,” Ms. Mahdi said.
This family-oriented production will be performed Sunday, May 7 at 2:30 p.m. at The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, 740 E. 56th Place, Chicago, 60637.
