Mayoral candidates Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas engaged in their first debate held at the DuSable Museum Black History Museum and Education Center ahead of the April 4 runoff election. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Vallas met in front of a crowded audience on March 9 to discuss public safety, property taxes, home ownership, Chicago’s Public School system and other important issues impacting the city and its residents. Mr. Johnson is a Cook County Commissioner, former Chicago Public Schools teacher and Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) member. Mr. Vallas is a former CEO of Chicago Public Schools.
