CHICAGO—The Muslim Civic Coalition and the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center hosted a free screening of “Ali’s Comeback: The Untold Story,” in commemoration of Muhammad Ali Day in Illinois, a holiday the Coalition helped to establish in 2021. The event, held on Jan. 17, was an opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds to celebrate the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali. Illinois was the first state in the country to establish a public holiday honoring Ali on his birthday, the Coalition noted on its Facebook page.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Muhammad Ali Day here in Illinois than with the many educators, students, partners, community members, and guests that gathered here today,” said Dr. Dilara Sayeed, president of the Coalition, via Facebook. —The Final Call
