“See they not that We are visiting the land, curtailing it of its sides? And Allah pronounces a doom–there is no repeller of His decree. And He is Swift in calling to account.” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 13, verse 41
In the face of the destruction and aftermath of three major hurricanes that have struck a part of the American continent, could it be described as nature’s unleashing of Weapons of Mass Destruction, the Author of which is God Himself? What is the message behind this Divine Lashing? The Holy Qur’an reminds us that repeated warnings of such destructive forces have come to others before our time only to vanquish a disbelieving people.
“And certainly We destroyed generations before you when they did wrong, and their messengers came to them with clear arguments, yet they would not believe. Thus do We recompense the guilty people.” (Surah 10, verse 13)

While addressing an audience in Compton, Calif. a little more than a month ago, the Honorable Minister Farrakhan stated without reserve that God’s Divine Punishment would begin to strike the country. As he spoke, Hurricane Charlie began its course of destruction, followed by Francis on his heel. He further stated that what was happening on the East Coast of America, with extensions into the South, was a sign of what would continue to visit the land, even to the western coastal area.
The Holy Qur’an warns repeatedly what to expect in this day and time, even to those unsuspecting innocent ones in these words: “And guard yourselves against an affliction which may not smite those of you exclusively who are unjust; and know that Allah is Severe in requiting.” (Surah 8, verse 25)
In the wake of the destructive forces of nature and “Weapons of Mass Destruction,” which included Ivan and still more turbulent storms on the way, such a swift moving path of destruction has never been recorded in our current historical records. In times past, this stormy activity has been recorded in the destruction of nations and peoples who refused to obey God’s Warning and the Warners in their midst right up to the end. Is the same fate awaiting America as written in the prophetic histories of the Divine Scriptures?
Upon my return to Mexico from Los Angeles, I wondered, by the events that I witnessed in the city, would we be reading, in the near future, the account of a Lost Angeles and a people who also rejected the Warning and the Warner in our midst?
I arrived in time for Mexico’s Independence Day celebration on September 16, which marks her freedom from the Spanish colonial occupation of her land and people. The question may be raised: Does this mentality still dominate the mind and thinking of its government and people? One day later, Friday, September 17, I found myself in the little village of Tepoztlan where, 19 years ago, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan had his Vision-like Experience on board the Mother’s Wheel, being contacted by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
It was in Mexico in those days from September 16-19 where I met once again Mr. Carlos Diaz. He is the gentleman who has been photographing and videotaping the phenomenon of the ships of light for more than 20 years in Tepoztlan. We met to review the current situation taking place on our planet, the work and mission of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, in the face of the threat of total destruction on our planet.
I close this article with a brief report of several experiences I had during my last weeks in California following the departure of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Within a few days, one of our Brothers assigned to assist me in transportation during my stay, photographed a large, orange-yellow-red object within a mushroom-like cloud while he was in San Diego visiting his father in the hospital. The object was exactly like the one photographed several years earlier by another Brother who lives in San Diego. His photo appears in my current edition of the Cultural Links magazine.
Within another few days, while working in Los Angeles in the home of a Sister helping me with a computer programming database, it was called to our attention by another co-worker to step outside her home to view a strange, red-colored object circling nearby in the night sky. The plane or object was making a continuous loop-like maneuver traveling in a counter-clockwise pattern which repeated itself more than 10 or 11 times. Accompanying this movement were several bright flashes of white lights occurring in an interval of 45 minutes or more. It was distinct from the appearance and landing of other aircraft in the vicinity, which included helicopters that we sighted simultaneously as they approached the greater Los Angeles airport.
Within less than a week at another event, several young people, male and female, along with several adult members of our Muslim community witnessed this same phenomenon with the background of the stars. They also viewed commonly recognized commercial planes and helicopters in the area. The movement sighted above was again counter-clockwise, also red-colored and accompanied by other nearby white flashes. Upon my return to Mexico, while listening to the update about Hurricane Ivan’s destructive path, it was stated that hurricanes travel in a counter-clockwise motion with a center eye. The colors generated from computer graphics showing the eye of the hurricane contained similar colors displayed in the “ships of light” photographed by Carlos Diaz.
“He it is Who makes you travel by land and sea; until, when you are in the ships, and they sail on with them in a pleasant breeze, and they rejoice at it, a violent wind overtakes them and the billows surge in on them from all sides, and they deem that they are encompassed about. Then they pray to Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience: If Thou deliver us from this, we will certainly be of the grateful ones. But when He delivers them, lo! they are unjustly rebellious in the earth. O men, your rebellion is against yourselves–a provision (only) of this world’s life. Then to Us is your return, so We shall inform you of what you did” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 10, verse 22-23
