RICHMOND, Va.—MGT Captain Emeritus Halima Muhammad was honored with a birthday celebration and recognized at a Sunday Mosque meeting March 6 for her sacrifice, dedication, and hard work as Student MGT Captain of Muhammad Mosque No. 24 in Richmond, Va. She served from 1980 to 2000. MGT and GCC (Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class) are the women of the Nation of Islam.

“It was an honor to serve and work under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan,” she stated as she humbly addressed the body of Believers. Sister Halima precedes three MGT Captains: Sister Hope Muhammad, Sister Kim Muhammad, and Sister Linda Muhammad.

Now stands Sister Samantha El-Amin, who was also recognized and honored the same day for her work and dedication. She served as first officer from 2016 to 2019 and was later appointed Sister Coordinator from 2020 – 2022. Sister Samantha was then officially installed as Student MGT Captain of Mosque No. 24. From the rostrum, she gracefully shared a few words of gratitude.

“It is a humbling experience to work with the MGT and GCC, the women of God under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.”

As a demonstration of appreciation, she and Sister Captain Emeritus Halima were presented with flowers and love offerings from the Believers of Muhammad Mosque No. 24.
