CHICAGO—After not meeting in person for two years, the Nation of Islam’s Saviours’ Day 2022 was a special time to be together again and gather at headquarters. It was extra-special as Muslims, supporters and the public entered the doors of the Final Call Administration Building, located at 734 W. 79th St., for what is an annual pilgrimage to the storehouse of knowledge. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s audio and video ministry, under the auspices of Final Call, Inc., is housed in this historic building alongside the offices of  The Final Call newspaper.

But Feb. 28 was all about enjoying an annual “Open House” spearheaded by Final Call General Manager Abdul Rasul Muhammad. Those who entered the doors browsed, shopped, laughed and fellowshipped. They loaded arms with DVDs, CDs, books, posters, hats, t-shirts and Nation of Islam keepsakes. It was a joyous moment as long sought after lectures were found. Books were discovered and precious jewels of knowledge were uncovered in FCI inventory. Families shopped together. Believers together traded stories and consulted on which lectures to walk away with.

The day was high spirited and celebratory. Laughter rang throughout the building. The joy of life, the joy of faith, the joy of learning was on full display! The Final Call Administration Building, located in the heart of the Auburn-Gresham community, was the first public meeting place in the 1980s owned by the Nation as Min. Farrakhan worked to rebuild and reestablish the Teachings of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad. It’s history, knowledge, wisdom and understanding all in one place!
