“America is falling. Her doom has come, and none said the prophets shall help her in the day of her downfall.”  —the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, “The Fall of America”

WASHINGTON—The United States continues on a downward spiral as the country comes to grips with ongoing division, acrimony and partisan vitriol in the aftermath of the deadly and violent insurrection and attack on the Capitol.

The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack heard excruciating testimony, July 27, from law enforcement officials on duty that day. The hearing was the latest confirmation of the fall of America as taught and prophesized by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam.

“This to me demonstrates the rot of America, like a bad apple. It demonstrates the rot of America, which is leading to the decline of America,” Dr. Wilmer Leon, syndicated columnist and author, told The Final Call regarding the climate in the country. “This is a domestic issue. One thing that you don’t hear anybody really highlighting is the fact that they had to usher the vice-president of the United States out of the Senate for fear of his life.

Those folks wanted to take him out on the steps and hang him. They had the gallows ready,” he said, referring to former vice-president Mike Pence. Mr. Pence was tasked with presiding over a joint session of Congress to ratify a newly-elected Joseph Biden victory, much to the anger and chagrin of then-president Donald Trump and thousands of his supporters who stormed the Capitol.

“Had they done it, that would have just been the ugliest spectacle. They’re taking us back to the French Revolution. I want to draw the distinction between the internal rot domestically, as opposed to the real signs of America’s decline, which is its continued attempts at imperialism, as it relates to China, as it relates to the continent of Africa,” said Dr. Leon.

“The fact is the rest of the world is now ignoring the United States. Germany’s Angela Merkel came here and President Biden thought that he was going to tell her to stop the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline. She told him, ‘man, you’re crazy.’ I want to draw the distinction between the domestic decay and the international decline. Those two points are important,” he added. An estimated 140 officers were injured, five lives were lost and many observers were shaken from the attacks.

The term “Fall of America” was popularized by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1973, with His book by the same name, The Fall of America. It is a collection of his speeches and writings attesting to the decline in America.

“America is being torn to pieces politically as Pharoah’s political party was in the days when Jehovah went after the freedom of Israel,” wrote Mr. Muhammad in the chapter, “Confusion, Confusion of the People.” Mr. Muhammad further explained that America has and would continue to lose the friendships of other countries due to her ill-treatment of the darker people of the Earth.

“The Holy Qur’an refers to America in this kind of prophecy: ‘When her doom comes there will come one calamity after another.’ As soon as she thinks she is getting over the sore made by a previous calamity, another will attack her.”

A day of violence and White rage

The first Democratic-led House Hearing to investigate the January 6th Attack was an opportunity for law enforcement officials to describe what happened that fateful day. Pfc. Harry Dunn and Sgt. Aquilino Gonell of the U.S. Capitol Police, and Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department gave opening statements and answered questions from committee members.

Officer Daniel Hodges of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, testified that the pro-Trump mob was made up of “overwhelmingly White males.” He described being treated differently than his non-White fellow officers.

“Some of them would try to, try to recruit me,” he told the committee. “One of them came up to me and said, ‘Are you my brother?’” said Off. Hodges.

“The two sides (officers and rioters) were at a stalemate at a metal door frame,” he continued. “I inserted myself so the frame was at my back in an effort to give myself something to brace against,” he said, describing how his arms became pinned and “a man seized the opportunity of my vulnerability, grabbed the front of my gas mask and used it to beat my head against the door.”

One of those same people asking about brotherhood, attempted to disarm him of his baton again, and they subsequently wrestled for control. “He kicked me in my chest as we went to the ground. I was able to retain my baton again, but I ended up on my hands and knees and blind; the medical mask I was wearing to protect myself from the coronavirus was pulled up over my eyes so I couldn’t see. I braced myself against the impact of their blows and feared the worst,” testified Off. Hodges.

The horror from the day was repeated by each officer that testified. Officer Dunn’s experience was compounded with racial epithets. He was in the speaker’s lobby outside the House chamber when he was approached by one of the insurrectionists. That person said, “Trump invited us here” and that he was still the president.

“Nobody voted for Joe Biden,” Off. Dunn explained the man told him. Off. Dunn said he responded that he had voted for President Biden, asking, “Does my vote not count?”

He testified that a woman in a pink MAGA (Make America Great Again) shirt then yelled, “You hear that guys? This n***** voted for Joe Biden.”

Officer Dunn was shocked. He said the crowd of around 20 people joined in screaming, “Boo, f****** n*****!” Officer Dunn said, “No one had ever, ever called me a n***** while wearing the uniform of a Capitol Police officer.”

The hearing started with a warning from Democratic Chairman Bennie Thompson (Miss.) that “we cannot allow ourselves to be undone by liars and cheaters.”

“Some people are trying to deny what happened. To whitewash it. To turn the insurrectionists into martyrs,” Rep. Thompson said. “But the whole world saw the reality of what happened on Jan. 6. The hangman’s gallows sitting out there on our [National] Mall. The flag of that first failed and disgraced rebellion against our union, being paraded through the Capitol. The hatred. The bigotry. The violence.”

Saying insurrectionists were “propelled here by a lie” about a fraudulent election, Rep. Thompson added, “We need to understand how and why the ‘big lie’ festered. We need to know minute by minute how Jan. 6 unfolded. We need to understand how the rotten lie behind Jan. 6 has continued to spread and feed the forces that would undermine American democracy. And we need to figure out how to fix the damage.”

The hearing raised questions people have been asking since January 6, who was behind the insurrection? Who should this committee be going after?

“It’s not a secret that it was political. They were literally there to ‘stop the steal,’” Off. Dunn said. “If a hit man is hired, and he kills somebody, a hit man goes to jail. But not only does the hit man go to jail. But the person who hired them does.”

Officer Dunn said the Jan. 6 insurrectionists were the equivalent of a hit man. “I want you to get to the bottom of that,” he told the committee.

Mr. Trump’s ardent supports are still towing the line that what happened Jan. 6 was “no big deal.” Police officer Michael Fanone, who was beaten and suffered a heart attack during the attacks received hateful voicemails and was mocked for his stance. “In this case the facts are the facts,” he said during a CNN interview. “They are supported by hundreds of hours of videotape evidence, eyewitness testimony, they’re undisputable.”

Many argue otherwise. The pro-law enforcement, “Blue Lives Matter” brigade changed its tune. Fox News host Laura Ingraham went as far as “awarding” officer Michael Fanone “best performance in an action role.” In one of many vulgar voicemails aimed at Off. Fanone he was deemed a liar and “scumbag”.

Right-wing author and political commentator Dinesh D’souza wrote on Twitter, “I’m convinced these Capitol Hill police officers were lying through their teeth at the #January6th hearing. Lying & putting on an acting performance. You say someone screamed the N-word at you? Let’s see the surveillance video & body cam footage. No video? Then it didn’t happen.”

Kyle Becker of Becker News wrote, “WATCH: It’s all grins after the #January6th hearing for Democrats who choked up and teared up earlier. Democrats smile, laugh, and shake hands after the “emotional” and “traumatic” hearing. See for yourself.”

But the officers were not smiling and laughing during their testimonies.

“It was like something from a medieval battle,” said Sergeant Aquilino Gonell who was injured during the attacks. He said, fellow officers were punched, pushed, kicked, shoved and blinded with eye-damaging lasers. He also noted that during the Black Lives Matter protests, Capitol Police were given “all the support we needed and more” but during the Capitol Hill attack it was a different story. The double standard was not lost on observers.

Chicago-based youth activist Ja’Mal Green wrote on Twitter, “If BLM & ANTIFA stormed the capital, you racist right wingers would yell that they disrespected this country like you did Colin. But since you and your parents and grandparents did it, you think it’s a good part of your history. Check your white supremacy at the door terrorist.”

Getting to the bottom of the Jan. 6 insurrection means analyzing who was in the crowd.

“Very well represented among the crowds on January 6th were Cuban exiles, members of the Falen Gong religious group from China that is working against the Chinese government, Zionists and supporters of the Likud Party in Israel and Netanyahu. It seems like from all across the world, the United States has gathered these constituencies of foreign policy, special interest groups. They kind of came home to roost,” Caleb Maupin, journalist and political analyst told The Final Call.
“While the U.S. media is focusing on the fact that there were a lot of low-income White Americans there, a big chunk of the crowd were from these foreign policy, constituency groups, that the USA has cultivated around the world to fight his battles. At the end of the day, they have their own interests to kind of go against the mainstream interests of U.S. society,” he added.

What does this mean for the average citizen who may be clueless to what the United States is really doing?” he asked.

“We have to recognize that among the ruling elite of the United States, there are big divisions. There are problems. They can’t solve problems in the economy, problems within the culture. There’s a big confusion. There’s no real, real central vision in America anymore. So, among the elite, among the rich and powerful, factions are forming and they’re battling each other, they all want to use the government to solve the problems,” said Mr. Maupin.

The unraveling and the solution

The hearing was conducted by the select panel that contains seven Democratic members and two Republicans appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.).

“We didn’t learn anything new from that one day, it was a dog and pony show. No one was held accountable as a result of that one day, dog and pony show, nobody went to jail. I’m not really sure what we learned that we didn’t already know,” said Mr. Leon.
“We knew on the seventh or the 8th of January, that the FBI had been monitoring the social networking sites in the social networking chatter. They had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen, and they didn’t do anything about it. I mean the FBI and whatever other intel and security forces were supposed to protect that space, they were not prepared. Those insurrectionists should never have been allowed to make it to the Capitol steps, let alone breach the security of one of, if not the most secure spaces in the world, or what is supposed to be,” he added.

The ongoing war between Democrats and Republicans bears witness to Minister Farrakhan’s divine warning and words about the unraveling of the nation.

“You, my poor, pitiful brothers and sisters, you are opting to be a part of that that is unraveling right in front of your eyes. You see the country cascading downward. You see the moral fiber of America getting into the gutter. Who wants a membership in a house of whores?” he stated during his 2020 Saviours’ Day message in Detroit titled, “The Unraveling of a Great Nation.”

Sadiki Kambon of the Nubian Leadership Circle agreed with Min. Farrakhan’s observation and insight. “I saw it as business as usual, the true America came to surface,” he said, referring to the insurrection.

“I had a conversation with Black men and the role of the police. White people know what’s going on, they know what the deal is. … The bottom line for us is when do we just acknowledge the fact that there will not be a time where we and White people will look at each other on equal terms? (When) we understand and accept that, [we] move forward in respect to what we have to do with ourselves,” he told The Final Call.

He also said that Blacks are beginning to see White America’s true identity. “The bottom line is that we have to build our own institutions out here and what I’m finding is that young folks are thinking more and more along those lines of facing the reality of what’s happening.”

Student Minister Demetric Muhammad of the Nation of Islam Research Group explained the violence at the Capitol is a bearer of witness of the growing dissatisfaction of White Americans. “I think the Capitol incident points us back to the fact that we have been given a warning and a picture has been painted for us by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad of the time we live,” he said.

“The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said to start off making our communities a safe and decent place to live. … We have to begin to pool our resources and take ownership of the places we live. Ultimately, we would like our own nation but there are stages, but it starts with what the Minister said,” he added.

By not heeding to the words of wisdom by Minister Farrakhan “hardships and privations” are what we will continue to face, said Student Min. Demetric Muhammad.

Alex Lo is a columnist for the South China Post. “Forget the rise of China, it’s the fall of America you should worry about,” he wrote.

“France under Napoleon III, Britain under Winston Churchill and Soviet Russia under Mikhail Gorbachev didn’t know they had already lost the empire until it was too late. The fate of the United States will not be any different.”
