Farrakhan The Traveler

[Editor’s Note: This article was published online on Feb. 22, 2003.]

Imagine it’s 6 A.M. You are feeling good. You decide to drive to a small mountain range that you know will take you high enough to view the whole city. It’s almost a cloudless day. You can see for many miles. It’s pleasant; beautiful; peaceful; quiet.

Time passes. Suddenly you’re jolted by your remembrance that wars are taking place the world over. People are dying in huge numbers. World War Three seems imminent. Murder is the order of the day. So is robbery. So is child abuse. So is sickness; malnutrition; starvation; insanity. Weather patterns are destroying life and property earth-wide. The economy is crumbling. On it goes.

Many say, “We’ve heard this before. Things will be alright.” That’s true. But, after what? And at what cost?

Prior to 1975, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad used to cite a part of Surah 5:54, with respect to the future of the Nation of Islam. His words included: “Some of my best followers are still out in the street.” He often abbreviated this description of this group with a part of 54: “They will not fear the censor nor his censure.”

One day I questioned him on Surah 56 of the Holy Qur’an. It’s one of the places in the Holy Qur’an that teaches that we are to be divided into three groups, as it’s mentioned in Yusuf Ali’s translation, Surah 81:7, when like is joined with like.

It teaches that a few of us who followed him prior to 1975 would be joined with a much larger number, who would come to him through the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, after 1977. They are the first group, even though they are mixed with those called in the Bible as “tares.”

Minister Farrakhan was destined to be the door through which the “few” and the “many” would come to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. One of the qualities of this group, whom Allah would love, is their humility.

Ask yourself, how much of what you see can you make? How much of what you see do you understand? Can you make a light bulb? Do you understand how it works? How many things in your home can you make? How many skills—and based on what knowledge—do you have to make everything that you own, or wear, or see? How much do we really know? Can you make even a blade of grass?

In the hereafter, learning will be much faster. But for now, how much does what we know compare to what there is to know?

Our awareness of our ignorance should be a factor that alone ought to make us all humble. Many examples could be given that could make the point. Here is one.

How many people live on this earth? How many of them do we know? Of those few whom we know, how well do we know them? Of those whom we say we know well, how well do you really know them? What is involved in knowing another human being?

Many of us say we know such and such person well, even though we never even had a cup of coffee with them. Many of us say we know this or that person when we’ve only had a few conversations with them and even fewer ones of substance. Even then, those very few conversations of substance were short and not extensive.

Do we need friends? Why? Can we be healthy without friends? What are the principles of making good friendships? Can we be a real friend if we are proud? Why not?

I asked the Honorable Elijah Muhammad what was the root of his humility. He answered: “I’m from an enslaved people and Allah raised me according to my nature.” This should be studied.

It’s written that if the rulers of this world really knew the hidden wisdom that was revealed through the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, which Minister Farrakhan has spread far and wide, “they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (Eighth Translation New Testament- 1 Corinthians 2.)

Many, in crucifying Minister Farrakhan, are, in a sense, crucifying his Backers and the righteous. Please visit www.writtentestimony.com for more of this in two talks: “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” and “He Did Not Sin.”

Was/is the crucifixion a tragic mistake or was/is it being done from culpable ignorance—or worse?

It’s written that some think Jesus asked God why did he forsake him when he was on the cross. Others took his words to mean that he was calling on Elijah? What’s the truth? What’s the relevance of this to Minister Farrakhan and to us—right now?

In order for Allah to build His kingdom, so that it will never ever fall, “devil” in all forms, and on every level, had to be first manifested before being erased. Every one of us qualifying for entrance into Allah’s kingdom must have everything in us that is not wanted by God, manifested and then removed, or we can’t enter into His kingdom permanently. This process is described in Minister Farrakhan’s study guides.

We are all undergoing the mother of all detoxification programs. Minister Farrakhan has administered his part of this program masterfully. Rejecting him means fire.

Aside from deliberate acts of evil, misunderstandings also makes hell. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said: “Misunderstanding is the hell of man.”

Consider Maududi’s note #28, on Holy Qur’an 15:47: “That is, If any spite might have been caused because of misunderstandings between pious people, it shall be removed at the time of their entry into Paradise and they will bear no ill-feelings there against each other.”

Even the tiniest bit of ill-will won’t exist among the Believers, not to think of jealousy and envy. They’ll be family, in the divine sense of that word.

Repeatedly, the scriptures warn us not to allow the problems of this life, or even our shortcomings—nothing—to make us unaware that we’re all on a one-way track to the Almighty for the final judgment. We’re warned, not just to pray, but also to help others to qualify to stand, with a measure of confidence, in the presence of the “Son of Man.” Allah does not want us if we won’t help others. We’re warned not to “blow it” by ignoring the signs of His unannounced arrival to catch us by surprise.

Now, in the light of Minister Farrakhan’s redeeming work for us, and others, from 1977 to this very moment, let’s ask ourselves what have we done to prepare ourselves—in the last year; in the last six months; in the last month or few days, to stand in the presence of the “Son of Man”.

If you call this “spooky” talk, remember that’s what the people of Sodom and Gomorrah said just before the hot stones struck them. They were going about their business—both good and evil; shopping in the malls of their day; partying; wasting time, on a day such as this, when—BOOM!

The destroying angels, whose work is mentioned in the 15th chapter of Revelation, have visited America and have surveyed her!

Don’t forget the explanation of this war, by the two Messiahs.

More next issue, Allah willing.
