“And if you reject, nations before you did indeed reject (the Truth). And the duty of the Messenger is only to deliver (the message) plainly. See they not how Allah originates the creation, then reproduces it? Surely that is easy to Allah.” —Holy Qur’an, Surah 29, verses 18-19

Within three months of the departure of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad on February 25, 1975, I embarked on a journey to Egypt and Palestine, parts of the Mediterranean including Turkey, Greece and the Aegean Sea accompanied by my two eldest children, my daughter, Madeeah, and my son, Ishmael. We knew not what to expect, nor what lay ahead. Circumstances prevailed that took us to the prestigious over one-thousand year old mosque and University of Al-Azhar, in Cairo, Egypt. It was in Egypt where I was introduced to the famous composer and arranger Amar Sharia, to whom I entrusted my musical composition entitled: “The Muslim Song and March of Victory.” This composition was first recorded in the capitol of Mexico City and then to be recorded by Egyptian classical musicians in the television studios of Cairo, Egypt. We were accompanied by our Palestinian guide who had made all the arrangements for these meetings prior to our departure both in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Jerusalem as well as our visa entries into Arabia to visit the Holy City of (Mecca) and Madinah for the first time.

Following this awesome journey, we arrived in Jordan to visit the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem whose office was in Jordan outside of Jericho. It turned out that this Mufti was well acquainted with the person and the work of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and had met with him in his home in Chicago. We prepared our journey to Jerusalem where we visited the famous Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Following our visit to the third holiest city in Islam, we flew into Athens, Greece, and arranged a one-day trip to the Island of Crete in the Aegean Sea. We then flew into Istanbul, Turkey, before our return back to America. I was fully focused on the purpose of this journey in such a short time following the departure of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad; and what I experienced in part is presented in book one of my introductory travels with the wise man as a living testimony. More detailed accounts of my travels will be published in an upcoming edition.

The significance of Al-Azhar University is connected to the words and teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, both publicly and in private, some of which I wish to share in this article as it connects to his departure in 1975 and is a prophetic sign of what the future holds. In the Supreme Wisdom Book of Lessons given to the students or new converts in Islam, Problem No. 14 of the Problem Book names this ancient educational institute, Al-Azhar University and its student body enrolled therein, and some of the subject matters studied. On a prophetic note, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad mentions this school as a sign of our future education that would cover a period of 20 years for those eligible in getting safely through this current period of time in the judgment of the present world order.

The Problem Book contains 34 problems that tells our history in a Mathematical Way when we were found by the Great Mahdi in America. If we add the number 20 to the number 14 (14th Problem), we come to the end of the Problem Book No. 34, that is, (14 plus 20) equals 34. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad told me and perhaps a few others that Al-Azhar University is also a sign related to himself. After many years of study and research on that statement alone, I recalled the words of Bro. Jabril Muhammad who told some of us that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad told him that there were scientists at Al-Azhar University who are at least 400 years old. I thought that this was amazing enough, but when we add this figure, 400, to the lifespan of Master W. Fard Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad as numbers of a lifetime, this is truly remarkable, especially when we are taught that the average person only speaks 400 words well.

In my mind’s eye, counting numbers and letters and history, added to our history, I discovered an interesting parallel in these numbers to the age of Al-Azhar University as the departure date of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1975. If we take away the number one in this date 1975, we get 975. This is the exact date of Al-Azhar’s founding in Cairo, Egypt in 975 A.D. This implies that the year of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s departure in 1975 corresponds exactly to the date of the founding of Al-Azhar, 1,000 years from that date. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad has been absent 36 years from the time of his departure until today’s year of 2011. According to the Maya Calendar, the year 2012 to the beginning of 2013, marks a change of worlds or suns. In the calculation of our Actual Facts, the earth and all the other planets in our solar system travels 1,037 1/3 miles per hour around the sun. If we add another year and a half to the number 36 years of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s absence, could his reappearance correspond to one of our Actual Facts which speaks of the time that it takes our planet to rotate around the sun at that rate of speed (1037 1/3 miles per hour)?

We will also note two other arrangements of this number 975 in the number of the 97th Surah entitled, “The Majesty,” which refers to the descent of the angels for every affair, this Surah contains exactly five verses (975). In the second observation, we can visualize Surah 75 entitled, “The Resurrection;” it was exactly in my reading of Surah 75, verse 9 in which I mentally prefixed the number 19 to Surah 75 which resulted with the date of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s departure in 1975 and my initiation into the study of the Number 19, which occurred in 1978. Please note that the Nation of Islam came to birth in America upon the coming and appearance of Master Fard Muhammad in 1930 after 20 years of going back and forth to America. This period of 44 to 45 years marked the birth of our nation and the fulfillment of the first part of the Divine Work and Mission of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad as the first begotten of the mentally dead. This all occurred within the one thousand year setback of Islam’s spread throughout the world with the marker stone set at Al-Azhar University in 975 to the work of the Honorable Elijah and the Great Mahdi one thousand years later to his departure in 1975.

“Say: Travel in the earth then see how He makes the first creation, then Allah creates the latter creation. Surely Allah is Possessor of power over all things. He chastises whom He pleases and has mercy on whom He pleases, and to Him you will be turned back. And you cannot escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have no protector or helper besides Allah.” —Holy Qur’an, Surah 29, verses 20-22
