“Certainly Allah conferred a favor on the believers when He raised among them a Messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His messages and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and the Wisdom, although before that they were surely in manifest error. What! When a misfortune befell you, and you had inflicted twice as much, you say: Whence is this? Say: It is from yourselves. Surely Allah is Possessor of power over all things.”Holy Qur’an, Surah 3, verses 163-164

The Battle of Uhud is revealed in great detail in Surah 3 of the Holy Qur’an, “The Family of Amran.” This chapter deals with the descendants of the prophets, from Abraham to Moses and the Torah, to Jesus and the Injil or Gospel, and to Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Holy Qur’an. This surah makes specific references to the Battle of Uhud, with some highlights on the Battle of Badr as a future battle, called “The Allies” or “Confederates.” The strength of this surah reveals the ever Omnipotent Presence of Allah (God) and His sending of Angelic Hosts, which ensure the success of the Believers against the Disbelievers and Hypocrites.

In today’s world events of global war and strife, unimaginable conflict and crisis, the same is proving true in the history of other people from nations and remote regions, such as Mongolia, now coming to world attention, with prophetic insights that link to the birth of the Nation of Islam in America. The Battle of Uhud discussed in the last article gives us further proof of this truth. Jesus, born from a righteous and virtuous mother, became the center of controversy during his lifetime, which led to a death plot to take his life, instigated in part from within his circle of followers and family members.

Soldiers in Genghis Khan’s Army mounted on camels formed a strategic force in his military unit. Pagent performance at the 800th Anniversary celebration in Ulaanbataar Mongolia, July 11-15, 2006.

In Surah 3, verses 51-53, we read: “But when Jesus perceived disbelief on their part, he said: Who will be my helpers in Allah’s way? The disciples said: We are Allah’s helpers: we believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we are submitting ones. Our Lord, we believe in that which Thou has revealed and we follow the messenger, so write us down with those who bear witness. And (the Jews) planned and Allah (also) planned. And Allah is the best of planners.”

This controversy continues between the Christians and Jews to our present day, with both camps joining forces in opposition to Islam and the Muslims. Throughout the long period of this dark age of ignorance where Satan reigns, the Muslims are exorted to remain united and to keep their duty to Allah (God) as it ought to be kept, and to die not unless they are Muslims.

Surah 3, verse 102

: “And hold fast by the covenant of Allah and all together and be not disunited. And remember Allah’s favour to you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts so by His favor you became brethren. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, then He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes clear to you His messages that you may be guided.” Sixty verses of this chapter are devoted to the Battle of Uhud, with every aspect of its controversial beginning and ending. Twenty more verses bring this entire chapter to an end, in verse 199.

The Mongolian nation’s birth and world conquests–beginning from 1227 to this year’s 800th anniversary celebration–began approximately 600 years following the Prophet’s (PBUH) demise. Both societies, made up of Arab tribes and clans on the one hand and Mongolian and Tatar (Turquic) tribes on the other, were raised in nomadic environments with a certain brute lawlessness that reigned, pitting one tribe against the other as on a pit of fire. Almighty God raised up among each of these distinct people a powerful, charismatic leader that united the tribes on egalitarian principles, human rights and laws exercised by the whole, and thus they became formidable rulers who paved the way for the modern, democratic and republic nations of the world today.

The European and American nations were guided and inspired by the Mongolian and Islamic examples of governmental laws that formed the basis of their constitutions and parliamentary standards in our modern times. Both the Mongols and Muslims were looked upon in ancient times as crude, barbaric and uncivilized. But today, their leaders are acknowledged as the great heroes of the millennium.

In the Vanguard position in this forward Movement, the Nation of Islam is coming to birth in America, founded by a Great and Wise Master Who is viewed as an enigmatic and mystical personality, with whom the world is now becoming more and more acquainted as a result of the Divine Work and Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his Greatest Helper, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

It is not an accident that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad named him, “Farrakhan, a name that links him to the family of the rulers of the Mongolian kings; from Genghis Khan to Kublai Khan in the East and now Farrakhan in the West. We will soon come to see the historical and prophetic connection.

There was no such thing as disobedience to the Khan’s army. Strict discipline was enforced, with death to pay, although mercy and forgiveness for error or mistakes were also practiced. The above rules were also operational in the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); and they are extended today under the Founder of the Nation of Islam, Master W.F. Muhammad, and its current spiritual leadership.

A case in point is found in a review of the circumstances that evolved around the Battle of Uhud. In the commentary in the Holy Qur’an translated by Maulana Muhammad Ali, in footnotes 491 to 492, we read: “The loss suffered at Uhud was due to disobedience in relation to a certain position which was forsaken against the orders of the Prophet (PBUH). The retreating Makkan army turned upon the pursuers among whom disorder had ensued, and several Muslims were slain, the Prophet (PBUH) himself being wounded. So they are told that they must obey God and His Messenger if they would have divine mercy. Restraining of anger, pardoning and doing good to each other besides being great moral qualities, strengthen the bond of union which is so necessary for success.”

As we go through this period of our history, we must be vigilant about our prayers and ask for forgiveness and Allah’s Mercy in passing the trial for this great test. Let us hold fast to the handle of Islam and remember: “Those of you who turned back on the day when the two armies met, only the devils sought to cause them to make a slip on account of some deeds they had done, and certainly Allah has pardoned them. Surely Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.”–Holy Qur’an, Surah, 3 verse 154

“And that which befell you on the day when the two armies met was by Allah’s permission, that He might know the believers. And that He might know the hypocrites. And it was said to them: Come, fight in Allah’s way, or defend yourselves. They said: If we knew fighting, we would have followed you. They were on that day nearer to disbelief than to belief; they say with their mouths what is not in their hearts. And Allah best knows what they conceal.”   –
