The proverbial phrase when “Hell Freezes Over” became a reality when Hell, Mich., some sixty miles from Detroit reached -4 degrees and as low as -27 degrees. Death spread across America in January as weather-related tragedies struck, including car and truck pile-ups and a homeless man was found frozen solid behind a building in Maryland. In a single week all 50 states experienced freezing temperatures and areas in the Midwest and East were colder than Antarctica.

The economic costs of people being unable to shop or work, cancelled flights, snow days for schools and business and higher heating bills could be as high as $5 billion, according to Evan Gold, senior vice president at the business weather intelligence company Planalytics, as America again found herself in the grip of unrelenting cold, ice and snow.

The Polar Vortex and a similar system swung through the United States, shutting down much of and closing the month of January with lower than average temperatures. The National Climactic Data Center reported that 1,100 temperature records were broken in January.

The Associated Press reported the actual facts in temperatures Jan. 27 predicting over “2 ½ days, actual temperatures will range from the teens to below zero, and the wind chills will be even colder, minus 43 in Minneapolis, minus 23 in Milwaukee and Chicago, minus 14 in Kansas City, Mo., and minus 3 in Louisville. In fact, the National Weather Service says most of the Midwest will feel far colder than Monday’s expected high in the nation’s northernmost city, Barrow, Alaska–minus 4.”

Scientists and the public may be slightly surprised or perplexed by havoc wrought by the extreme weather, but a proper understanding of the Bible and the Holy Qur’an reveals Mother Nature isn’t randomly acting, but the earth is in the process of throwing off her burden, the wicked and rebellious, and the Divine Supreme Being is bringing the governments of the world to their knees–starting with the United States.

God is angry with the wicked for their rebellion and in particular, angry with America for her evil done to the Black man and woman and bringing us into slavery. For nearly 85 years, the Nation of Islam has taught the judgment of America is in full effect and the weapons God uses are the forces of nature, rain, hail, snow and earthquake.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, following in the footsteps of his teacher the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, has continually warned of increased natural disasters and extreme weather as Allah (God) continues to punish America.

Fulfilling the prophetic role of a modern Egypt, she has refused to let the people of God’s choice today, Black people, go free, according to the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. “The four great judgments that Almighty Allah (God) is bringing upon America are rain, hail, snow and earthquakes. We see them now covering all sides of America, as the Holy Qur’an prophesies curtailing on all her sides,” said Minister Farrakhan.

“And these judgments would push the people into the center of the country, and there they would realize that it is Allah (God) who is bringing them and their country to a naught,” Elijah Muhammad, patriarch of the Nation of Islam wrote in The Fall of America published in 1973.

“Watch the weather! Because God doesn’t fight with your cheap weapons!  God fights with the forces of nature:  Rain, hail, snow, wind, drought.  He uses the insects and the animals, and turns nature against you.  You can’t win in a war against God,” warned Minister Farrakhan.

But the issue isn’t just today’s cold, snow and ice: The year 2013 was tied with 2003 as the fourth hottest year since they started keeping records in 1880. It was not as hot as 2011, which was the hottest year on record, according to the National Climatic Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The planet set a new record for billion-dollar weather disasters in 2013 with 41 incidents, reported insurance broker Aon Benfield, in the Annual Global Climate and Catastrophe Report issued in December.

“Despite the record number of billion-dollar disasters, weather-related natural disaster losses (excluding earthquakes) were only slightly above average in 2013, and well below what occurred in 2012,” observed Dr. Jeff Masters co-founder of the Weather Underground. “That’s because 2013 lacked a U.S. mega-disaster like Hurricane Sandy ($65 billion in damage) or the 2012 drought ($30 billion in damage.) The most expensive global disaster of 2013 was the June flood in Central Europe, which cost $22 billion.”

“Forty-one billion dollar weather disasters is a huge number of these highly disruptive events to experience in one year. This is especially so given that 2013 was a neutral El Niño year, and the previous record of 40 billion-dollar weather disasters was set in 2010, when we had both a strong El Niño  and  a strong La Niña event in the same year,” according to Dr. Masters.

So despite the horrific cold, Hell freezing over isn’t the end, it is just the beginning. The saying and experience of “hot as hell” will be back in just a few months.
