Editor Richard Muhammad issued congratulations to the Production staff of The Final Call Newspaper June 22 for winning Second Place Best Layout and Design for Tabloid newspapers and Second Place for Best Use of Photographs among tabloid newspapers at the Black Press of America convention in Atlanta. He accepted the awards the previous night as part of the National Newspaper Publishers Association annual meeting.
“We congratulate the other winners in all categories, in particular the Philadelphia Tribune and the St. Louis American, for their success. But our staff works hard and we are trying to meet the top standards in bringing information to our people, so we take these awards as encouragement as we strive to do better and be a leading source for news and information for the Black community and everyone who wants the truth.
We thank the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan as our publisher and we thank the Mighty Fruit of Islam for carrying this message across the country and the world,” said editor Muhammad.
This is the second year in a row for Final Call wins in Black Press design categories.
