“So when the trumpet is blown, there will be no ties of relationship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another. Then those whose good deeds are heavy, those are the successful. And those whose good deeds are light, those are they who have lost their souls, abiding in hell.” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 23, verses 101-104
In the year 2007, Mongolia began her celebration of the 800th Anniversary since her founding as a nation under the leadership of Genghis Khan. It took him approximately 20 years from 1206 to 1227 A.D. to establish the golden lineage as a legacy that was handed down from father to son. Sister Anita Muhammad from Washington, D.C. accompanied me to this magnificient event celebrating Mongolia’s
independence in Ulanbataar in the summer of last year. Quoting from the booklet that was published from the National Committee Chair, Mr. Miyeegombo Enkhbold, Prime Minister of Mongolia, spoke these words: “For the people of Mongolia, the government of Mongolia has designated this historic year as ‘the great anniversary year.’ The theme has also received the approval and support of the United Nations. We have re-evaluated the contributions of Mongolia and the Mongolian people to humankind, and by actively promoting our findings to the UN member nations and various organizations, we have informed people around the world of this important anniversary year.”
Another government official in the Ministry of Roads, Transportation and Tourism, Tsegmid Tsengel quotes in the same brochure: “For the Mongolian people, 2006 marks the 800th year since Chinggis Khaan founded the Mongol Empire in 1206. The event recreated the calvary of Chinggis Khaan as being accomplished under the sponsorship of the Mongolia government and with the support of companies of both Mongolia and Japan. This is the first international event of such scale held in Mongolia and, as such, it carries great significance for our country as we place high priority on tourist industry development in our economic policies.”
Referring to the film, “Mongol” we share with you further commentaries made by those who attended the premier showing in Chicago as follows:
“Mongol was an excellent movie to see and to learn from. Genghis Khan had a very hard life and he also had a passion for his people. You mix those two together and you have a Revolutionary Leader! America’s a country who seems tohave the greatest military on Earth, has gotten most of hertraining from our Brother Genghis Khan!I highly enjoyed the film. Ithank Mother Tynnetta Muhammad for her study of Genghis Khan.” –Leah Muhammad
“The film was exceptionally great. The story line was well understood; and the concept of the film contained many lessons of courage, hope and faith. Action filled and extremely dramatic.” –Margaret Mahdi
“I had the pleasure of being in the company of Mother Tynnetta Muhammad, Sister Leah, Sister Marcella, Sister Sherice and Sister Margaret to see the movie, “Mongol,” based on the forgotten life of Genghis Khan. The movie had a lot of morals in it. It showed the making of a great man. Life is a journey in which we all are made and our character. The value of family, how important it is to your development. It had a lot of the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in it. It shows how we have to treat one another, keep our word and how people will respect us and law is needed to keep order among the people.
We make sacrifices to keep our families in tact and how important marriage is, how we are viewed as women and we are the nucleus of the whole family and how we have to struggle. The relationship between brothers, one wanted his men to worship him and do as he said whereas the other one treated them as brothers and respectful of them having families. Genghis Khan after war would treat the brother as equals and grew his army. The men loved him because of his morals and respect. This caused division among the men. Law is required and if you broke the law, your life was taken. Both Genghis Khan and his wife both made sacrifices to keep their family together and love made them strong because they never gave up hope to be with one another.” –Olivia Muhammad
“With a special thank you to Mother Tynnetta Muhammad for inviting us to attend and be in her company, I enjoyed this action-packed movie, “Mongol.” This movie is about Genghis Khan who showed tremendous strength in character and compassion for his people and a man who had an exceedingly strong faith in God during his life. He was willing to do what was necessary to accomplish his goals by always being steadfast in his duty. Through this work, Genghis Khan was able to help the people change their ways and live as Allah desires for us, which means we can live in peace.” –Marcella A. X
“Were not My messages recited to you, but you used to reject them? They will say: Our Lord, our adversity overcame us, and we were an erring people. Our Lord, take us out of it; then if we return (to evil), we shall be unjust. He will say: Begone therein, and speak not to Me.” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 23, verses 105-108
