Holy Day of Atonement Media Advisory (NOI.org, 10-10-2007)

ATLANTA (FinalCall.com) – The 12th anniversary of the Million Man March and the Holy Day of Atonement will be celebrated October 16, in Atlanta with a special message by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan at the Atlanta Civic Center at 7:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The celebration kicked off with a Walk a Thon sponsored by the Louis Farrakhan Prostate Cancer Foundation, October 13, in which nearly 2,000 participants joined Minister Farrakhan, Ambassador Andrew Young and Tyrone Brooks, president of the Georgia State Black Elected Officials (GABEO) on a 2-mile walk through the historic Vine City neighborhood in Atlanta.

“The Minister had a bout with prostate cancer and it is hard to believe that just 10 months ago he was having a 14 hour surgery. The prayers from so many went up to a mighty God from all across the world. Minister Farrakhan is alive today because of those prayers and a mighty God,” said Minister Farrakhan’s assistant, Ishmael Muhammad at a recent press conference.

He added, “Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of death for men and particularly Black men. The Louis Farrakhan Prostate Cancer Foundation was created to generate greater awareness of the disease and to get men tested.”

“I want to thank the city of Atlanta for welcoming us,” said Mr. Muhammad. “After Minister Farrakhan visits the city, he will leave a positive energy and something to build on. He will offer words and guidance on principles of atonement.”

Minister Farrakhan’s address will be broadcast live via satellite in over 120 cities throughout America and locations worldwide.
