FinalCall.com) – The BBC News quoting U.S. military sources is reporting that 14 U.S. marines along with their translator have been killed in a roadside bomb attack in northwest Iraq near the city of Haditha.  It is the most deadly attack on U.S. forces in 2005. 

According to Pentagon statistics the attack brings the count of U.S. military combat deaths to 1,820 since the war began while official reports say at least 13,500 have been wounded.

A report, A Dossier on Civilian Casualties in Iraq, 2003-2005 by the UK-based group Iraq Body Count says a total of 24,865 Iraqi civilians were reported to have been killed in the first two years of the war, beginning with the invasion, almost 20% of them women or children.
