‘I came here, not certain. I leave here, quite certain’

Rock Newman, boxing promoter, former manager of former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Riddick Bowe
Joy, happiness, a feeling of a sense of a direction and a sense of community that may have never, ever existed before, amongst the most powerful of our leadership. From that coming together is the ability to give direction, and to inspire and give focus and hope to the hopeless. This is a great day.

Minister Tony Muhammad,
West Coast Regional Minister, Nation of Islam
To see the powerful minds of men and women that were here today led me to know and believe (Min. Farrakhan) is that figure who God is using to free up an entire people, not just here in America, but all over the world, with this Millions More Movement. My heart is so touched.I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I’m just honored to be living in this day to witness the total liberation of a whole people. So, we must be ready, because we are really living out the Scriptures, and that’s what I saw today, more than any other time in the history of our nation.

Vincent Orange, Ward 5 D.C. Councilmember
This is just extremely powerful, to have everybody come together and stand as one. It’s the power of one and the unity that was exhibited. It’s going to take us a long way. It’s the beginning of a new order–and the order is that we’re together.

Reverend Michael Jenkins,
the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification
We are so grateful that God has once again anointed the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan to bring all races, and all people together, and all faiths. We see the vision of the Millions More Movement. It is real.It is blessed by God.

As we have seen with the Million Man March, a great flowering of healing and understanding, and also a great conviction is now coming among those of us who are true believers, that we will come together. With the power of God, we will break the yoke that is binding all people from one another.

Particularly, we’re going to address the illnesses in America, that are rooted in our historic oppression, that has never been fully addressed. Also, we see reparations as being essential. There must be a condition set. I believe that the Millions More Movement, under the leadership of the Honorable Minister, is going to waken the people of faith from all backgrounds. I am touched today, and I see the breaking of the yoke of oppression is going to be further expanded and manifest, not only for America, but for the whole world.

Lawrence Guyot, Civil Rights veteran, founding member of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party
This is amazing. I have not seen that much unity in 25 years. This is broad-based. It is inclusionary. It clearly involves everyone, from gays to Lithuanians. It will be very hard for this not to be a tremendous, not only mobilizing success around the event, but I see a lot of mobilization and unification that will certainly be done.

I can certainly identify with everything, except the attack on the Democratic Party. I’m going to fight within the Democratic Party, and I’m going to hold as many of us within the Democratic Party as possible. It seems to be, there are few of us saying that, but that’s where I stand. But I’m very proud.

I came here, not certain. I leave here, quite certain. This is something I can support. This is something I ask everyone I know and who knows me to support. This is very inclusionary, very Indigenous, and very committed to change. This is not about maintaining the status quo. The leadership is clearly pluralistic, diverse, and still expanding.
