“Repel (evil) with what is best …” (Holy Qur’an 41:34; 28:55); “repel evil with good … .” (Holy Qur’an 13: 23; 23:96)
“As the preaching of truth inevitably brings in its wake hardships for the preacher, the verse enjoins upon him to bear them patiently and with fortitude, and even to return good for the evil he receives at the hands of his persecutors.”
“The believers follow the course best suited for the eradication of evil.” After a detail, the commentator continued: “In short, they cut at the very root of evil by whatever method is appropriate in the circumstances.” (Holy Qur’an, edited by M.G. Farid, footnotes 2636, 1435.)
The above cannot be accomplished without the right motivation and the right understanding of certain knowledge which, when coupled with the right set of experiences and the right understanding of these experiences, occurring over time–and if Allah wills it–then, real wisdom is generated in a person.
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has real wisdom.

“I am for the acquiring of knowledge or the accumulating of knowledge–as we now call it, education. First, my people must be taught the knowledge of self. Then and only then will they be able to understand others and that which surrounds them.”
***
“No followers, nor any other people, are more zealous about the acquiring of knowledge than my followers. Throughout the Holy Qur’an, the duty of a Muslim to acquire knowledge is spelled out.”
(From ‘Message To The Blackman’ by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad)

This article continues the interview I conducted with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, of which the following was published in The Final Call Vol. 21, No. 22.
For the sake of others, I asked him what year he became a registered Muslim, which he answered was 1955. Then I asked him: “Did you study?”
His answer was: “Oh, yes. This was a new field for me.”
He continued that he “was so fascinated by the teachings of the most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, as taught by …” and he went on to list the Brothers who, to use his words, “were profoundly influential in my development.”
He continued, “Even though there were people over me in authority who may not have had a high school education, they were so well-studied in the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, it meant nothing to me that they did not have the amount of school time that I had, or the quality of preparation that I had. They had what I was trying to get. That was an understanding of the message of Islam, as taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. …
“Once I gained the love of my violin, my mother no longer had to require me to practice. Every free moment I had, I would practice my craft. Sometimes, I would practice four hours, five hours, six hours. Sometimes, I would tell my wife ‘I’m going in this room. I won’t be out for eight or nine hours.’ I would go in and practice my craft.
“So, when I gave up music and became a follower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, my love for music, my love for my craft just was transferred to my love for Allah, my love for the Messenger, my love for Islam. I always had love for God and love for our people, but now I had a message, a vehicle to transfer–not a noun but a verb–in that I could actively demonstrate my love, by bringing Black people up out of the grave of ignorance, by sharing with them the profound message that Master Fard Muhammad had left with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad for our resurrection, restoration, reconciliation and civilizing us to be top human beings.”
“Brother Jabril: A few of us, or some of us, in those days are aware of the fact that there were times when you would go to a hotel room and spend hours studying. Please elaborate.
“Minister Farrakhan: I always desired to feed the Muslim community. They were feeding me. They were giving my family and I enough money to at least afford bean soup. It was not the amount of money, because it was very meager, and we were very, very poor. But I felt obligated to study to serve this community. They came to follow the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. In order to follow him, they had to know him, they had to know what he taught and his aim and purpose. So if I loved him and loved them, then it was my duty to study to prepare those who love him also to be strong helpers of him, in the cause of the rise of our people.
“So in those days, I studied everything I could get my hands on related to the message of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. By immersing myself in his message, then everything that I learned in high school, prep school and college took on greater significance. Biology took on greater meaning. Chemistry, Solid Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, everything that I studied I could now use because Islam, as taught by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, was a key to use knowledge for the advancement of self, your family, your community and your people.
“Brother Jabril: Now, Brother Minister, talk to me for a moment about the time you received the order to put up your music.”
We’ve covered how this occurred. That part of the interview ended with:
“Brother Jabril: And you just stopped?
“Minister Farrakhan: Yes. In fact, it was in November. It was not in December, but I had until the end of December to make the decision, but this order came down in November, one month after I had been a registered Muslim.”
Now, why was he able to obey so quickly and under those circumstances?
The interview continued with my asking him, “What then led to, and what were the circumstances, which were preparatory, under which the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said to you, ‘You don’t have to study.’ ”
Let’s look again into the above, but not with a glance. Let’s piece some of his words apart. Let’s get deeper into the spirit of his mind. This process will help us to understand his answer to the words of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad to him: “You don’t have to study.”
This will also help us better understand the words of his teacher for his and our own future, especially as 2005–a momentous year–comes in.
The Holy Qur’an 23:45-49 reads: “Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a clear authority to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. So they said: ‘Shall We believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us?’ So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. And certainly We gave Moses the Book that they might go aright.”
Have the Caucasian Muslim Sons fully warned the Caucasian leadership of America of the above, whose arrogance blinds them of the truth of Minister Farrakhan and his teacher, of that which they have learned is the truth?
His answer, next issue, Allah willing.
