A Satanic force controls the U.S. Government

[Editor’s note: The following is the second part of a selection of answers that Minister Farrakhan gave to questions submitted by The Final Call as we enter the year 2004.]

Final Call (FC): After September 11, 2001, President George Bush declared “World Wide War on Terrorism.” In your view, how has the President’s actions in Afghanistan and the invasion of Iraq affected the perception of America in non-European and non-Christian parts of the world?

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan (HMLF): What President Bush did in his doctrine of preemptive strike and in his war in Afghanistan and in Iraq was to turn even his allies in Europe negatively toward America. If one would look at the demonstrations in London, Paris, Rome, Berlin and several other European cities, the people overwhelmingly were against this war and against the President in his bellicose manner. They saw him as a cowboy and an unrefined, unrepentant braggart overwhelmed with arrogance over the power of America to inflict “shock and awe” on America’s perceived enemies.

In Africa, Asia, Central/South America and the Isles of the Pacific, it is as though his wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have united the peoples of the world in a negative way toward America. Right after September 11, the whole world, with the exception of a few countries, was in sympathy with the United States–even some of those whom America calls her enemies sent America condolences. But it is President Bush’s and the Administration’s actions subsequent to September 11 that has turned the world against America.

FC: Many view this so-called “war on terrorism” as a war against Islam. In several of your public addresses, you have shared your perspective on this point. As we enter this year, what insight can you give on how Islam continues to be the target of this war?

HMLF: Much of this I will deal with in more detail in my Saviours’ Day address on “Reparations: What Does America and Europe Owe? What Does Allah (God) Promise?” I believe with all my heart that it is a war against Islam in the strictest sense of the meaning of Islam.

In every nation on this earth where there are Muslims, there is a group rising that desires to see Islam preached and practiced according to the teachings of the Qur’an and the example of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This has put those who are revivalists, if that term is proper, in direct confrontation with their regimes that have allowed the religion to be watered down, moderated, and then made the religion even tolerant of some of the ideas of the Western world that are in direct contravention to what Allah (God) has ordered in the Qur’an.

So, this war is against the Islam that the West does not control. For example, President Bush made it very clear that if a Shiite majority in Iraq were to want an Islamic government based on Islamic law, which is not what America wants, America would oppose such a person and government coming to power.

What then does that tell us, as Muslims? The Bush administration does not desire to see Islam practiced in its pristine purity. As a result of that, America desires a moderate Islam; an Islam that America can control; an Islam that America can give direction to and give orders to its leaders. This is not the Islam that the revivalists and Islamists want. They want an Islam directed by Allah (God) and they want leaders who desire to make Allah (God) and His Prophet their leader, their model and their example.

So, there is a clash in every Islamic nation on the earth between those moderates who have compromised the religion of Islam to be a friend to Western powers and interests, and those who want the purity of Islam. America will never side with those who want the purity of Islam. America will always side with those whom she can direct, give orders to and have those orders obeyed.

FC: On December 1, 2001, you wrote a letter to President Bush sharing with him your concerns about his announced war on terrorism and the consequences that his planned action would bring. The concerns you expressed were based on your September 17, 1985 vision-like experience and understanding of scripture and prophecy. That counsel was not accepted by Mr. Bush. Now, two years later, we are beginning to see the manifestation of the consequences caused by the rejection of spiritual guidance. What part do we have, if any, in helping to avert these escalating consequences?

HMLF: The Qur’an reads, “Set your face for religion, being upright, before there comes from Allah that which cannot be averted. And on that day they shall be separated.” There is no averting the consequences of rebellion against Allah (God). So, the only thing we can do is try to get ourselves out of the way of those upon whom the consequences of rebellion and rejection of Divine Guidance are coming. This is why it is written in the scriptures of the Bible, “Come out of her my people that you be not partakers of her sins and her plagues for her sins have reached unto heaven.”

FC: On October 30, 2002, you wrote another letter to President Bush specifically regarding his planned invasion of Iraq. You advised him that, if he invaded Iraq, his administration might run into something that his advisors had not thought of or perceived. Since the invasion, American soldiers are being killed daily, thousands of wounded are returning home, and constant attacks are launched from unknown insurgents against occupying forces. What are your views of the factors necessary to bring stability to the people of Iraq and the withdrawal of America troops?

HMLF: That is a difficult question to answer, for America has now occupied a nation and that nation, although some welcomed her intervention, now hates the fact that they are subjected to an occupying force that does not understand or respect their way or their ancient culture. It is said that civilization began between the Tigris and the Euphrates River. That once was called the Garden of Eden. It has now become hell for the occupants of that country and it has become a pit, a bottomless pit for the occupiers.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad told us that the War in Vietnam would be one that America could not and would not win and that the Vietnamese would hold her there and suck her dry.

In the end, America had to leave billions of dollars in cash and gold and lots of ordnance or military hardware. America lost face in Vietnam and the Viet Cong of the North conquered that country. Now, it remains as an albatross around the neck of Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, who got America out of Vietnam.

Now, America is in Iraq. Some scholars compare Iraq to Vietnam. Although the terrain or the topography is different, the principle remains: An intruder, an occupier is in Iraq and America can’t get out. She can’t leave. She’s locked in it now. Eighty-seven billion dollars Congress has granted and more billions before that, and there’ll be more billions after that.

This boastful administration that felt that it did not need the United Nations is now seeking the United Nations to come in. America is asking “Where are my friends, in an hour like this?” But what friend wants to step into a place that America made as an occupier of another man’s house?

Even if the world said, “we will go in,” the same death and destruction on a daily basis that comes to the present occupiers will be visited upon United Nations troops, will be visited upon everyone that comes as an occupier. They can’t come as a peacemaker because America didn’t go as that.

Once you step into the role of the leading actor, you have to continue to play his part. You can’t step into his role and then later decide to be a peacemaker. So, this is a tough thing. It’s Armageddon. America may win some battles, but she’s locked now in a war that will only increase her losses and it will get worse and worse.

The economy of America, which is over a half a trillion dollars in debt, will increase with more debt, as natural disasters continue unabated to afflict America, where the Federal Emergency Management Agency will have to ask for more and more billions of dollars. The poor will become more agitated because there will be less for them.

Then we will see darkness upon darkness, layer upon layer, triple darkness out of which will come the birth of a new world order–not by the powers of Europe and Asia but a new world order ordered by the Power of the Lord of the Worlds.

FC: We are fast approaching the 2004 presidential election and many candidates are currently engaged in the primary process to nominate a candidate for president. The Black vote may become a significant factor in the November election. What must Black America do to ensure that our self-interest and agenda is acknowledged and accepted by the candidate who wants our vote to become president of the United States? Should we form alliances with Hispanics, Native Americans and poor Whites?

HMLF: There is no candidate that is offered to the American people who can save this country from what Allah (God) has decreed in their present state of mind, no matter what they say or what they promise. The entrenchment of a Satanic force that has gained control of this nation through control of the government is such that no matter how well-meaning the nominee of the Democratic Party may be, the reality is that the Satanic force will destroy anyone who would refuse to go along with their program.

President Bush is already their nominee to continue on a Satanic path.

Now, the next part of that question deals with what Black America must do to ensure that our agenda will be represented. Whatever we could do has been greatly compromised already. Blacks have sided with several of the aspirants to the nomination of the Democratic Party. Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus have gone in several different directions, which then sends the signal to the Black community that we’re divided.

There is no one right now in my judgment that can unite the Black electorate in such a way to present our agenda to a nominee to have them forthrightly address our concerns. I believe that this election will not be won by the Black vote based on our agenda. If the Blacks vote for any White candidate, it’ll be based on what we hope to achieve if we get behind the nominee of the Democratic Party and push President Bush out.

But pushing him out and another man in, without exposing and expelling the Satanic force that has gripped the government of the United States, then all of our voting will be in vain.

As far as forming alliances with other groups, this is something that we should consider. In the book, titled “The Prince” by Machiavelli, he warns that forming alliances can be dangerous, if we are not strong and fully understanding of our self-interest. If we are weak, we can be taken over by those whose agenda, self-interests  and strength  are greater than ours. Oft times, when we have formed these alliances, we end up serving the agendas of others.

FC: With the economy of the United States improving steadily and now with successes in the Iraq war, is Mr. Bush’s reelection bid unbeatable?

HMLF: The Honorable Elijah Muhammad once said to me that there’s a long distance between the ground and the stirrup when you’re mounting a horse. At this present moment, Mr. Bush appears unbeatable to many. However, in the twinkling of an eye, things can change and it’s a long way between now and November when the American people go to the polls. In fact, the economy may be improving for a few, but the masses of the people are not finding an improvement. The masses of the people, Black, Hispanic, White and Native American, are going backwards.

FC: What are your thoughts about the two Black candidates?

HMLF: The two Black candidates are good persons; strong persons; and persons who are highly intelligent. When you’re running for the office of the nominee of your party for the presidency of the United States, you have to speak as Reverend Al Sharpton and Sister Carol Mosely Braun have done to the broad issues of the American electorate, which then weakens you in terms of representing that which is in the best interest of your people, in particular.

The candidates who desire to be elected by unions and workers must address their concerns. The candidates that desire to be elected by other minorities must be conscious of their concerns and weave their concerns into their thrust and ultimately into the platform of the party. The concerns of Black people are compromised in the broad universal appeal.

I was warned of this by a wonderful brother and a former member of the U.S. Congress. He said, “Brother Farrakhan, you seem to be broadening your appeal through the use of the universal language of Islam. By broadening your appeal, you must be careful not to lose the base that you have built in the Black community. Black people must never feel that they are losing a voice for their concerns. Once we become so concerned for the general concerns of a general body, we become less focused on the specific needs of our people.”

I advised Reverend Sharpton that he should try to unite the Black vote behind him, because if we are all united behind our candidate, even though we may not be the nominee of the Democratic Party, we then would have a united Black electorate behind the standard bearer for us. Then, the standard bearer representing our concerns could leverage our vote to extract from either party that which could improve the quality of life for our people and the poor of this nation. We must never accept as payment for delivering the vote of our people a token speech at the convention and behind closed doors an offering of something personal. This is not personal!

This is about the survival of our people and the poor of this nation. It takes strength to confront a potential nominee over the issues that ill-affect the Native American; the Latino community and the dire issues that affect the Black community. We must not get lost in the generalities of what appeals to the majority of White people, who are not paying us any real attention. We are present as the spooks that came to a debate.

To be continued.
