Whatever the mind conceives, that is your reality. It was in February, 1998, when our 24 member delegation accompanying the Honorable Minister Farrakhan’s World Friendship Tour III, arrived in Korea. It was on a cold wintry day, when, after
passing through customs at the airport in Seoul, we were whisked away on our bus all bundled as we made our way to the beautiful building complex that houses the Ballet Academy and the training center for The Little Angels traditional ballet company. The school was founded by Reverend Moon and is currently under the direction of his daughter-in-law, Julia Moon, an exceptional disciplined Ballerina who has performed with her Ballet Company around the world.
›Last year’s visit in November, 2002, would find me once again in this beautiful and elegant setting to participate in the celebration of a youth program showcasing the talents of some of Korea’s young people in the performing arts which included the popular music of today’s youth. The day’s events began with a tour conducted by the faculty of the elementary and high-school educational divisions for students attending classes in the complex of buildings adjacent to the beautiful Theater Auditorium,where the main function was held later on that evening.
I was shown all of the modern complex of computer programs and production studios used by the students in training at all grade levels. I saw a perfect example of how to implement a fully evolved computer program system in every classroom, as well as, view some of the Academy’s practicing rooms and facilities for the student’s training disciplines. Following this tour, I was escorted to the office of Julia Moon, where I was granted an insightful interview covering many of her life’s experience in forming the Ballet Company. Some Chicagoans may have remembered seeing her performance and others from her Ballet Company in the city several years ago. They presented the Sleeping Beauty Ballet and another original Ballet based on a traditional Korean Story. Both were stunningly performed to full audiences.
The above experiences took place on the 4th day of November, 2002.
