In a pair of 6-3 decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, written by Justice Samuel Alito, the Court recently ruled that the Trump administration could end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and Syrians, and it also upheld a “metering” policy allowing immigration officials to turn away asylum seekers waiting in Mexico.

The ruling means that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could end TPS for approximately 350,000 Haitian immigrants, many of whom have been in the U.S. for decades and have made a living and raised families here. Based on that, the number of people who could be impacted could be higher.

According to the American Immigration Council, “Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary immigration status provided to nationals of certain countries experiencing problems that make it difficult or unsafe for their nationals to be deported there.

TPS has been a lifeline to hundreds of thousands of individuals already in the United States when problems in a home country make their departure or deportation untenable.”

The targeting of Haitians is deliberate. In the run-up to the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, then-candidates Donald Trump and JD Vance spread vicious rumors and lies, which were debunked, about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio.

Unfortunately, “making trouble” and “spreading lies” have been, and remain, the methods our open enemy has used in its strategy and plan to keep us divided from one another.

Many of our Haitian brothers and sisters have left or been forced to leave their homeland, for no fault of their own. The current conditions in Haiti stem from decades of U.S. and Western misdeeds, interference, and downright evil actions.

We cannot allow apathy about what is happening in our communities to make us turn a blind eye to Black people who may come from different countries. Apathy means a state of indifference characterized by a lack of emotion, motivation, or concern. Often, we are so consumed with our own day-to-day lives—which is important—but we cannot fall into indifference where we respond, “that’s them, not me.”

According to reporting by Capital B News in a June 2025 article titled, “Black Undocumented Migrants Face Far Higher Deportation Rates,” “One of the most underreported aspects of life for Black undocumented migrants can be summed up in one statistic:

They’re deported at a rate four times more often than their numbers would suggest, according to an analysis of federal data by the Black Alliance for Just Immigration.”

Today, it is Haitians being targeted for deportation; tomorrow, it could be Blacks, regardless of our country of birth. For those who argue that they were born in the U.S. and are therefore rightful and legal citizens of the U.S., that does not mean there will be no impact.

How is the government going to determine “who is Haitian?” Haitians are Black. They just happen to speak Haitian Creole and/or French, as well as English, the languages of their and our slave masters and colonizers.

America’s “immigration” issue is a hot-button topic that often results in finger-pointing and accusations, instigated by those who have shown themselves to be enemies to all Black people, whether we are from Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Jamaica, or born and raised on the South Side of Chicago.

In the sight of Almighty God Allah, who appeared in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, The Great Mahdi, we are one people. In the Supreme Wisdom Lessons of the Nation of Islam, the question is asked:

“Who is the Original Man?” The answer: “The Original man is the Asiatic Black man; the Maker; the Owner; the Cream of the planet Earth—God of the Universe.”

While it is easy to look at our various languages, cultures and countries of birth as differences to further divide us, it is, in fact, one of our biggest strengths.

The front cover of the iconic Muhammad Speaks newspaper at times featured an illustration of a Black man from America and a Black man from Africa, their arms outstretched toward each other over the Earth. The words: Asia, Africa and America were also written on the illustration.

What happens to our people, wherever we are, is important, and we must recognize that we are one people. Just because one group of Black people is being targeted does not mean the rest of us are somehow exempt from the plans of the enemy.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has traveled in and out of America, speaking to Black people all over the world about our common struggles and who we are to one another.

“The Honorable Elijah Muhammad single-handedly turned us from calling ourselves Negroes to accepting ourselves. No matter what shade of color we were, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad asked us to refer to ourselves as the Black man, the Original People of the Earth.

And when we saw ourselves as Black people, then every person of color on the Earth, we identified with them,” said Minister Farrakhan in a May 7, 2006, interview on “The Open Line Show” on 98.7 KISS FM in New York, N.Y., hosted by the late James Mtume. The article was published in The Final Call under the title, “Reconnecting the international struggles of Black people.”

Minister Farrakhan, a Black man, has Caribbean roots. His mother was from St. Kitts, his grandmother from Nevis, his father from Jamaica, and his stepfather was from Barbados.

“So, in the ’60s, nothing could happen on the African continent that Black people in America were not concerned with. Nothing could happen in the Caribbean, Brazil, Central America or in the Islands of the Pacific where Black people were concerned that we did not feel, because a nervous system was being created for Black people that we felt the pain of one another wherever we were on the Earth,” Minister Farrakhan said.

As the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad reminds us in “Message to the Blackman in America,” on page 33, “Love yourself and your kind. Let us refrain from doing evil to each other, and let us love each other as brothers, as we are the same flesh and blood.”

We thank Allah (God) for the wisdom given to us from and by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad that teaches us to see the Black man and woman, regardless of where we are, as one people. We must not allow our differences to lead to further disunity. Allah (God) is not the author of confusion.

by Frederick Douglass

(Below are excerpts from a major speech delivered by abolitionist Frederick Douglass, who spoke July 5, 1852 in Rochester, New York to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.)

Fellow-citizens, pardon me, allow me to ask, why am I called upon to speak here today? What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence?

Are the great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us? and am I, therefore, called upon to bring our humble offering to the national altar, and to confess the benefits and express devout gratitude for the blessings resulting from your independence to us?

Would to God, both for your sakes and ours, that an affirmative answer could be truthfully returned to these questions! Then would my task be light, and my burden easy and delightful. For who is there so cold, that a nation’s sympathy could not warm him? Who so obdurate and dead to the claims of gratitude, that would not thankfully acknowledge such priceless benefits?

Who so stolid and selfish, that would not give his voice to swell the hallelujahs of a nation’s jubilee, when the chains of servitude had been torn from his limbs? I am not that man. In a case like that, the dumb might eloquently speak, and the “lame man leap as an hart.”

But, such is not the state of the case. I say it with a sad sense of the disparity between us. I am not included within the pale of this glorious anniversary! Your high independence only reveals the immeasurable distance between us.

The blessings in which you, this day, rejoice, are not enjoyed in common.—The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me.

The sunlight that brought life and healing to you, has brought stripes and death to me. This Fourth [of] July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn.

To drag a man in fetters into the grand illuminated temple of liberty, and call upon him to join you in joyous anthems, were inhuman mockery and sacrilegious irony. Do you mean, citizens, to mock me, by asking me to speak today?

If so, there is a parallel to your conduct. And let me warn you that it is dangerous to copy the example of a nation whose crimes, lowering up to heaven, were thrown down by the breath of the Almighty, burying that nation in irrecoverable ruin! I can to-day take up the plaintive lament of a peeled and woe-smitten people!

“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yea! we wept when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there, they that carried us away captive, required of us a song; and they who wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

How can we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land? If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth.”

Fellow-citizens; above your national, tumultuous joy, I hear the mournful wail of millions! whose chains, heavy and grievous yesterday, are, today, rendered more intolerable by the jubilee shouts that reach them.

If I do forget, if I do not faithfully remember those bleeding children of sorrow this day, “may my right hand forget her cunning, and may my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth!”

To forget them, to pass lightly over their wrongs, and to chime in with the popular theme, would be treason most scandalous and shocking, and would make me a reproach before God and the world. My subject, then fellow-citizens, is AMERICAN SLAVERY.

I shall see, this day, and its popular characteristics, from the slave’s point of view. Standing, there, identified with the American bondman, making his wrongs mine, I do not hesitate to declare, with all my soul, that the character and conduct of this nation never looked blacker to me than on this 4th of July!

Whether we turn to the declarations of the past, or to the professions of the present, the conduct of the nation seems equally hideous and revolting. America is false to the past, false to the present, and solemnly binds herself to be false to the future.

Standing with God and the crushed and bleeding slave on this occasion, I will, in the name of humanity which is outraged, in the name of liberty which is fettered, in the name of the Constitution and the Bible.

Which are disregarded and trampled upon, dare to call in question and to denounce, with all the emphasis I can command, everything that serves to perpetuate slavery—the great sin and shame of America! …

Would you have me argue that man is entitled to liberty? that he is the rightful owner of his own body? You have already declared it. Must I argue the wrongfulness of slavery? Is that a question for Republicans?

Is it to be settled by the rules of logic and argumentation, as a matter beset with great difficulty, involving a doubtful application of the principle of justice, hard to be understood?

How should I look today, in the presence of Americans, dividing, and subdividing a discourse, to show that men have a natural right to freedom? speaking of it relatively, and positively, negatively, and affirmatively.

To do so, would be to make myself ridiculous, and to offer an insult to your understanding.—There is not a man beneath the canopy of heaven, that does not know that slavery is wrong for him. …

At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed. O! had I the ability, and could I reach the nation’s ear, I would, today, pour out a fiery stream of biting ridicule, blasting reproach, withering sarcasm, and stern rebuke.

For it is not light that is needed, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake. The feeling of the nation must be quickened;

The conscience of the nation must be roused; the propriety of the nation must be startled; the hypocrisy of the nation must be exposed; and its crimes against God and man must be proclaimed and denounced.

What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim.

To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence;

Your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade, and solemnity, are, to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy—a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages.

There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices, more shocking and bloody, than are the people of these United States, at this very hour.

What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim.

In sociology, the term “adultification” is defined as the process or bias where children are treated, perceived, or expected to act as if they are significantly more mature than their actual developmental stage. It involves stripping children of the assumed innocence, vulnerability, and leniency traditionally afforded to childhood.

For Black children in America, this is a painful but daily reality. As noted by the Center For Policing Equity (CPE), “In this country, Black children do not get the luxury of having their innocence presumed and protected by the majority-White society in which they live.” The center references a 2014 study it conducted by co-founder and CEO Phillip Atiba Goff, called “The Essence of Innocence.”

Their study “found that the period of time during which White youth are not expected to be fully responsible for their actions can extend well into their late 20s. By contrast, Black children are often treated as adults by age 13, if not well before, regularly perceived as older, less innocent, and more threatening than their White same-age peers.”

There have been several similar studies conducted over the years that have reached the same or very similar conclusion. As a result of this “adultification” of our Black youth, they are quite often not given the benefit of the doubt nor do they receive sympathy or empathy in the court of public opinion or in America’s so-called justice system.

In the CPE study it also revealed that Black boys as young as 10 may not be viewed in the same light of childhood innocence as their White peers, but are instead more likely to be mistaken as older, be perceived as guilty and face police violence if accused of a crime.

“Children in most societies are considered to be in a distinct group with characteristics such as innocence and the need for protection. Our research found that Black boys can be seen as responsible for their actions at an age when White boys still benefit from the assumption that children are essentially innocent,” noted Mr. Goff.

“One alarmingly frequent outcome is that, in any interaction they may have with the country’s criminal legal systems, Black children are routinely held to adult standards, the study also reported.

History is full of examples that confirm what these various studies have concluded. And unfortunately for young, Black men and boys in America, this “adultification” has led to deadly results.

George Junius Stinney Jr. was wrongfully executed in 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 14 after being convicted, during an unfair trial, for the murders of two White girls. According to records, George was only 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 90–95 pounds.

But it did not matter that this young boy was not guilty. He received no due process and no benefit of the doubt. Young George was innocent, and decades later, his conviction was overturned.

Emmett Till, also innocent and also only 14. But the fact that he was a boy did not stop the racist, White thugs from kidnapping, torturing and killing him in Mississippi in 1955. There was no sympathy. He was not viewed as an innocent youngster.

Mike Brown Jr., just 18 years old when he was confronted, shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. Mike Jr. was 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed approximately 290 pounds, but he was still just a teen.

The officer who confronted and ultimately killed him, tried to use the excuse that because of the young, Black man’s size that he was intimidated and feared for his life. The officer himself was 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 210 pounds.

Tamir Rice was only 12 years old and playing in a park with a toy airsoft “gun” in 2014, when someone called the police saying a “male, probably a juvenile,” had a gun. Police arrived and shot and killed him on site with no hesitation.

How Black youth are treated is not limited to engagements with law enforcement. Fast forward to today. Recently, a South Carolina jury acquitted convenience store owner Chikei Rick Chow of murder in the May 2023 fatal shooting of 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton.

Chow shot the unarmed Black teenager in the back after chasing him over a suspected water bottle theft after claiming he acted in self-defense. There was reportedly no evidence that Cyrus had taken anything from the store. But, the fact that this young brother, not even old enough to drive, did not matter to someone who saw him not as a child, but as a threat that had to be neutralized.

National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, has consistently warned us that what we see happening in the targeting of our Black youth will continue to happen. He has explained that Black youth have been marked for death by the U.S. government and those who are enemies to their rise.

However, Minister Farrakhan and the Two who back him, have guided him with the solution, if we take heed and obey his guidance.

“The Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught us that one of the things that must be done, in this time, is that we must be separated from our former slave masters and their children—because time will prove that they will become more and more disagreeable to live with in peace,”

Minister Farrakhan said in part 39 in his 2013, 58-week lecture series, “The Time and What Must Be Done,” titled, “Can Black and White Live Together in Peace.”

“Unfortunately, race relations will continue to get worse because the government just cannot provide enough food, clothing, shelter and jobs, or justice, for us. And as we sit around, waiting for somebody else to do this for us—and demanding what we feel are our basic rights as so-called citizens—we are making our former slave masters and their children more angry with us; and thus.

They are becoming more disagreeable to live with in peace. That’s why the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, ‘We must be separated if we don’t want to continue to suffer great loss,’” Minister Farrakhan stated.

As days go by, what the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan have revealed continues to come to pass. We cannot continue to think that our over 400-year enemy is going to do right by us or our children.

Our enemy does not view our children as having a right to exist, thrive and survive. White children can be children, Black children cannot. And as long as we continue to think that integration is the answer, the more our children will suffer.

In the words of Minister Farrakhan, “Separation will prove to be the only answer to the problem between the Black man and woman and the White people of America.”

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught the Original Black man and woman the importance of “unity of self and kind.” He taught us the fundamental importance of Black people working together toward common goals and objectives for the benefit of the whole.

Since our sojourn in America there have been efforts to dismantle those goals. While establishing relationships with other communities regardless of political, socio-economic, ethnic and religious affiliations is also worthwhile, those relationships must be established on truth, transparency and historical accuracy.

Members of the Jewish community met recently in Miami with several well-known Black leaders and organizers for the National Convening on the Black-Jewish Alliance.

The event was called, according to organizers “the first national gathering of its kind in more than 25 years, aimed at renewing one of the most consequential partnerships in American history.” The meeting, which reportedly drew “more than 100 leaders,” was held May 26-30.

According to reporting by The San Diego Voice & Viewpoint, “Hosted by the Exodus Leadership Forum and Redstone Family Foundation at EAST Hotel Miami, the convening brought together clergy, organizers, artists, philanthropists, educators, civic leaders and cultural figures.

The goals were to strengthen relationships; confront rising antisemitism and racism; and help shape a shared national strategy for Black-Jewish partnership in the years ahead.”

The gathering attracted Blacks, Jews and those who are members of both communities. The Exodus Leadership Forum is a non-profit established by former Obama administration advisor for Green Jobs and current political commentator Van Jones.

The reported goal of the forum is “to revitalize and strengthen the historic partnership between the Black and Jewish communities.” The Redstone Family Foundation is described as “a philanthropic organization”

And is headed by media executive Shari Redstone. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Chavis, longtime civil rights activist and president and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (the Black Press), also addressed the gathering. There are reportedly plans to make it an annual gathering.

The weekend included several goals and included “facilitated conversations around difficult ‘wedge issues,’” noted sdvoice.info. Coming out of the “historic gathering,” a draft of a National Strategy for Black and Jewish Partnership was crafted and included the following:

Promoting Awareness and Historical Understanding

Deepening Relationships and Building Trust

Shaping a Public Narrative around Black-Jewish Allyship

Coordinating Efforts Across the Field

Expanding Partnerships for Collective Advocacy and Action

The above goals could be considered practical. However, before the rest of the points listed can be delved into, the first point, “Promoting Awareness and Historical Understanding,” must be addressed. And, there can be no awareness or understanding that is not based on truth and actual facts.

For decades, the National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, has spoken the unadulterated truth about the historic and current relationship between Blacks and Jews.

He has been unfairly lied on, maligned and targeted by members of the Jewish community and many scared-to-death Black people who are unwilling or unable to face the real truth about the history of this “relationship.”

Before any sort of “alliance” can be considered, what the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has presented and revealed must be part of the dialogue. Otherwise, no meaningful so-called alliance can be considered. And, if there is an alliance, what will it be based on?

Minister Farrakhan has called for a dialogue with members of the Jewish community, but he has been rebuffed due to his unwillingness to speak other than the truth. In his efforts to foster communication and understanding between the two communities, the Nation of Islam Research Department has produced several books, including:

“The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews: The Jewish Role in the Enslavement of the African,” “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews: How Jews Gained Control of the Black American Economy,” “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews:

The Leo Frank Case, The Lynching of a Guilty Man,” and “Jews Selling Blacks.” There is also a comprehensive compilation of messages by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, titled, “Revealing the Truth & Exposing the Synagogue of Satan.”

Perhaps the dialogue around “difficult wedge” issues about “one of the most consequential partnerships in American history” can and should start with the reading and studying of these materials. Doing so would allow both groups to truly start a sincere dialogue that could lead toward an “alliance.”

Over the years, Minister Farrakhan has written letters to prominent Jewish groups and Black leaders and organizations to foster sincere and truthful dialogue based on understanding. He has sent the books from the N.O.I. Research Group to Black and Jewish leaders, accompanied by letters of divine guidance.

In an open letter to Jewish groups he wrote in 2010, Minister Farrakhan stated: “I have pleaded with you over the years for a sensible, intelligent dialogue.

You have rejected me, and some Rabbis have given me terms for friendship that any self-respecting person could never accept. So with this truth in our hands and yours, and soon in the hands of tens of thousands, I again ask you for a dialogue.”

The same year, Minister Farrakhan also emailed Black leadership, stating in part, “These books that the Historical Research Department of the Nation of Islam has published, “The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews: How Jews Gained Control of the Black American Economy Volume 2”

And “Jews Selling Blacks” are being shared with our people to show us how we were completely undone and how others have benefited from what has happened and continues to happen to us. We cannot deal effectively with our so-called friends as men and women without this vital knowledge.”

He continued, “Whenever the Light of Truth has been shone on them, they reach for you to defend them against the Truth that uncovers the horror that has been done to us. They have always been successful pitting us against each other thus keeping them from facing the Truth of their real relationship with us.

As they call upon you to denounce me as an anti-Semite and, because of the favor you believe you owe them for what they have done to help make life comfortable for you; I am asking you to stand down. I am asking you to read this research and then discuss it with your Jewish friends.

Would you condemn me as an anti-Semite for exposing the research that shows them as being anti-Black? I am asking you to stand down and let them come out to me to defend their record and history of their relationship with us that we compiled from that which was written by their own scholars, historians, and Rabbis.”

For sincere alliances to be created, truth must be present. So, for the National Convening on the Black-Jewish Alliance, seek the guidance and wisdom that the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has already shared, offered and made available.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has been a faithful warner to the Government of America, world governments, Black and Indigenous people around the world and humanity in general. He has spoken hard truths that unnerve like an alarm bell.

Because of these truths, he has been falsely called and labeled a hater, anti-Semitic, and an enemy of the American people. But speaking truth and warning of approaching danger, even if it hurts, are the characteristics of a true friend.

American presidents are fond of the word “patriot.” Past presidents have called on Americans to be “patriotic” citizens and respond to their drumbeats for war and invasion of other nations under the false pretenses of America under attack or threats of terrorism.

They call on “patriots” to perform their duties even when the presidents themselves and Congress knowingly lie to justify invading or bombing other nations to overthrow regimes or gain access to mineral wealth.

The lives of many American soldiers have been lost based on these lies. Lies pulled America into the Vietnam War. Lies pulled American soldiers into invading Iraq.

Tens of thousands of innocent civilian lives have been lost on the receiving end of U.S. bombs and American weaponry supplied to Israel in their genocidal attempt to exterminate the people of Palestine, Lebanon and other Muslim nations.

Today, America is involved in a war against Iran, a war that was not declared by the U.S. Congress. The war does, however, complete a larger strategy launched by so-called neoconservatives in the late 1990s and significantly impacted by the administration of President George W. Bush.

That strategy, which accelerated after the 9/11 attacks on America, was to destabilize the Middle East by overthrowing the governments of seven Muslim nations—Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Iran.

At this writing, every one of those nations have been destabilized—except Iran.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has warned every U.S. president, from Ronald Reagan to Donald J. Trump, of the dangers of pulling the lynchpin into Armageddon, the war to end all wars spoken of in scripture.

He has repeated the forecast spoken by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Eternal Leader of the Nation of Islam, that once this war starts there would be blood “and plenty of it.”

Once Armageddon is in its full fury, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad told the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan that America would send their soldiers over in the tens of thousands, but they would come back in the fives and tens.

“I have been reading that the plans are already made for America to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Minister Farrakhan said in an April 8, 2007, message at Mosque Maryam, referencing the 2003 bombing of Iraq to remove leader Saddam Hussein. “The United States can’t win a ground war in Iraq, and it can’t win a ground war in Iran,” he continued.

The only way for America to defeat Iran is to use nuclear force under the pretense that America is destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities, while all the time killing civilians, the Minister forecasted.

Minister Farrakhan warned President Trump in his first term (2016-2020) that his character and thinking would be to the detriment of his administration, a warning manifested more fully in his second administration.

Mr. Trump’s second administration has drawn the distrust of America’s closest ally, Canada, by suggesting that the U.S. could annex its northern neighbor.

He has caused distrust among allied European nations by unilaterally applying exorbitant tariffs on their exports, called countries nasty names, ridiculed friendly leaders and threatened to withdraw from NATO.

An April Alliance of Democracies Foundation survey confirmed Minister Farrakhan’s warning, showing that “[G]lobal perceptions of the U.S. have deteriorated for a second consecutive year and are now worse than views of Russia.”

The Denmark-based foundation said the U.S. was also most frequently named in response to which country posed the greatest threat to the world, after Russia and Israel, Reuters reported.

Minister Farrakhan has warned that Mr. Trump’s plan for American dominance through fear is what is pushing smaller nations to want weapons of mass destruction. Mr. Trump invaded Venezuela and kidnapped its president, Nicolas Maduro and his wife, while also taking control of that nation’s oil exports and revenues.

Even as he pursues war in Iran, Mr. Trump has announced Cuba as his next target—announcing indictments on former Cuban President Raul Castro, increased the military presence in the Gulf, placed economic sanctions and an oil embargo that have caused near 24-hour power outages and Cuban suffering.

In the book “Closing The Gap” by Brother Jabril Muhammad, Minister Farrakhan said in answer to a question, that obtaining a nuclear weapon is a deterrent to American aggression.

“To make Syria afraid; to make Iran afraid; to make North Korea afraid; to make any little, small nation afraid is to say to them as the scripture says, ‘Wake up the mighty men of war. And let them turn their plow shares and their pruning hooks into spears and swords’ because this is a time of global war.

“Their efforts for peace may be noble, but they will not come to pass until war has decimated the warmongers. And many, many, many, many millions of human lives will be lost,” he said.

To Muslim leaders in the Middle East, Minister Farrakhan warned in a Nov. 8, 2018, news conference in Tehran, Iran, that President Trump is “making toxic the divisions between Sunni and Shia” Muslims and “openly saying they should reject their brother Iran.” He said new sanctions on Iran is the predicate for a new war.

“I am begging our president and the government that support him to be very, very careful because if the trigger of war in the Middle East is pulled by you using your surrogates at the insistence of Israel, then the war will trigger another kind of war that would bring China, Russia, all of the nations into a war,” Minister Farrakhan said.

“It bothers me to say this to you, Mr. President, but the war will end America as we know it. I am a warner to you. I am a friend to America, not an enemy. But if you do not heed the warning and correct your path, death will come.” —James G. Muhammad, Contributing Editor

Maya Angelou, the late poet, is often credited with the saying, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.” The full quote is actually, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. People know themselves much better than you do. That’s why it’s important to stop expecting them to be something other than who they are.”

When it comes to the U.S. government, the White power structure in this country and White people and their treatment of and toward Black people, what Ms. Angelou said has been proven true time and time again.

They have shown us who and what they are. So, we must stop expecting something different. There is a plethora of historic and current examples of this; too many to keep track. But we only must look over the past few days to see even more examples.

The continued attack and dismantling of Black studies curricula on all levels of education is a deliberate strategy to attempt to erase the tremendous contributions our people have made and continue to make not only to America, but the world.

They hate our very shadow, so what better strategy than to target academic institutions? A recent article published on The Nation, titled “Dismantling Black Studies,” examined this deliberate tactic.

The article listed several institutions of higher education that have either totally dismantled or watered down Black or African Studies departments, curricula or programs and also legislation that have targeted such programs.

According to the article, Florida’s Senate Bill 266 stripped Black-studies courses of their general-education status and cut the research funding that faculty depend on and Kentucky’s House Bill 4 suspended the University of Louisville’s Pan-African Studies doctoral program and eliminated all graduate assistantships.

“Black studies is where the attack has been the most deliberate, the most structural, and the most revealing of what is at stake. In recent months, university leaders have dismantled departments and deliberately narrowed the pipeline producing the next generation of Black scholars. What is happening is not just a series of isolated bureaucratic decisions; it is a coordinated assault,” the article states.

This is just one example. Then there are deliberate targeting and attack on anything Black folks attempt to do “for us by us.” A White dermatologist along with what is being described as a “conservative advocacy group” had the nerve to file a federal lawsuit against the online platform Find A Black Doctor.

The lawsuit alleges racial discrimination because the directory limits its physician listings to Black doctors and dentists. Statics have proven that Black patients received better care from Black healthcare professionals. It is highly doubtful this White dermatologist has the desire to truly care for and treat Black patients.

White folks, who still control the wealth and levers of power in politics, business, academia and are dusting off the tired, non-existent “reverse racism/reverse discrimination” card as a last resort to hold onto a power that they see they are losing their grip on.

And, just like in the past, they are using the tools at their disposal in various levels of government to do their bidding to on to power.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has been actively soliciting White men to file workplace discrimination charges, if someone Black or non-White gets a position that in their arrogance, they think rightfully belongs to them.

As Allah (God) is breaking America and the Caucasian’s grip on power, their tactics become more desperate, and they are becoming more emboldened.

As each day goes by, our open enemy continues to show us that they are disagreeable to live with in peace. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad told His National Representative.

The Honorable Minister Farrakhan, that when the children of Israel rebelled against Moses and Aaron and did not want to leave their slavemaster to build an independent nation of their own under the guidance of Allah (God) that He chastised them with fiery serpents and cockatrices.

“The Honorable Elijah Muhammad asked me one day, ‘do you know what it means, fiery serpents?’ I said, ‘no sir.’ He said, ‘It means angry White people,’” Minister Farrakhan said during a May 9, 2017, interview on WVON 1690AM Talk of Chicago radio with host Cliff Kelley, during President Donald Trump’s first term in office.

“White people are getting more and more angry every day, and as I said on this same wonderful program before, Mr. Trump was elected that the mask of civility—like an onion peeling—is being peeled off. Now naked hatred, not only in word but in deed, is being openly shown to us,” Minister Farrakhan said.

This naked hatred is increasing and like they always have, angry Whites are using the power of the U.S. government as a tool in their hatred.

Minister Farrakhan in answering a question from The Final Call, stated the following about the U.S. government during his Holy Day of Atonement Message in 2003: “this government of the United States is our worst enemy.”

“As long as the Children of Israel saw Pharaoh as a friend, they could not see Moses and Jehovah as their true friend. As they came into consciousness—by the wicked things that Pharaoh continued to do against them—that Pharaoh was indeed their enemy, then Moses and Jehovah’s call to them to separate from Pharaoh to build a nation of their own became a reality.

“As long as we see America and her wealth as something that we want, we will never leave Pharaoh. As God’s hand touched the wealth of Pharaoh, it is now touching the wealth of America.

As the Black man and woman become more awakened to the wicked machinations of government, the aim is the same today: We should never be free of their influence and power.

“As Abraham Lincoln said, if there is to be a superior position, he would rather that superior position be assigned to the White race. That superior position must be protected by those who believe in White supremacy and they will do everything in their power to make sure that that position will always be throughout the generations,” Minister Farrakhan said.

He added, “So, our path is clear: We refuse to be inferior. We want to be exactly what Allah (God) has desired for us to be and we can’t be that in their house. We either have to take over their house or go and build a house of our own.”

Like Minister Farrakhan said, our path is clear. The U.S. government and White folks have shown us who and what they are. The question for us is: Do we finally believe them?

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, has referenced this illustration in several of his messages in describing what he calls “America’s errant foreign policy.”

In His book “Message to the Blackman in America,” on page 122, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad referenced scripture in describing the serpent.

“That old serpent, called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world (Rev. 12:19) is a person or persons whose characteristics are like that of a serpent (snake). Serpents or snakes of the grafted type cannot be trusted, for they will strike you when you are not expecting a strike.”

It was recently announced by the Trump administration that the U.S. and Nigeria reportedly carried out what is being called a “joint mission,” which targeted and killed Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, reportedly a key figure in the hierarchy of ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), also referred to as IS (Islamic State).

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, in a statement, acknowledged the joint operation, which also reportedly killed several of al-Minuki’s “lieutenants.”

We have seen this scenario play out before in terms of America inserting itself into the affairs of sovereign countries, including those in Africa, and in the Arab and Muslim world, some of whom have opened themselves up to America.

According to several news sources, the U.S. currently has about 29 military bases across approximately 15 countries in Africa, and in the Middle East, the number is reportedly close to two dozen.

While the U.S. does not yet have a base in Nigeria, AFRICOM (U.S. Africa Command) is present, further embedding the U.S. on the continent and, one might argue, it is causing more problems.

“In the past 15 years, the U.S. government has quietly expanded its military footprint across the African continent, engaging in ‘special operations’ with African troops in the name of security. Since the 2007 establishment of the Africa Command (AFRICOM).

The defense department’s regional combatant command for Africa, the U.S. has adopted a military-first approach to securing its interests on the continent,” wrote Samar al-Bulushi in a 2023 article, “What Is AFRICOM? How the U.S. Military is Militarizing and Destabilizing Africa.”

“This has had disastrous effects. Whether it’s the seemingly endless (undeclared) war against the militant group Al-Shabaab in Somalia or the wave of coups (in many cases led by U.S.-trained officers), AFRICOM has contributed to the very instability it claims to address,” al-Bulushi noted.

Prior to this recent military operation in Nigeria, in November of 2025, President Donald Trump threatened to put boots on the ground in Nigeria under the guise of reportedly “protecting Christians” from being “persecuted” by Muslims.

Nigeria is a very diverse country and Africa’s most populous nation, with a population of 237.5 million. Nigeria is home to hundreds of tribes and people who speak multiple dialects and languages. Muslims and Christians reside there. It is also a mineral-rich country.

Despite the U.S. often using “democracy” and “fighting terrorism” as justification for engaging in military operations abroad, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has exposed the true motive, which is to cause brother to rise up against brother, thereby opening the door for America to take advantage and gain control of the wealth and resources that rightfully belong to that country.

In Part 34 of his 2013, 58- week lecture series “The Time and What Must Be Done,” Minister Farrakhan said, “America doesn’t care about ‘democracy’ if that democracy brings into power people that she does not want, that will not be amenable to her foreign-policy objectives and her national interest.

As a result of such planning, based on war mongering, the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), the NSA (National Security Agency) and the government of the United States of America would engage, covertly, in creating and exploiting differences that naturally exist in all nations.

And put money behind these differences that would one day explode into possible civil war, fratricidal conflict, death and destruction—based on the lies of the mischief making of this Mischief Maker and Universal Blood Shedder.”

In his message, though, Minister Farrakhan was speaking at the time about Syria, a Muslim nation in the Middle East; America’s goals and objectives then are the same today. It enacts its modus operandi (method of operation) without hesitation and it has for decades.

“Every time there has been a so-called democratic election in the Muslim world, that brought so-called Islamists into political power, America worked to destroy that democratically elected government.

Which shows that America is not interested in a democratically elected government that produces a government that she is not in control of, and cannot have free access to the natural resources of that nation,” Minister Farrakhan added.

Additionally, in part 12 of that same lecture series, Minister Farrakhan warned America, citing the Holy Qur’an, that every nation has a fixed and limited term. He quotes Surah (Chapter 7), Ayat (Verse) 34, which states: “And every nation has a term; so when its term comes, they cannot remain behind the least while, nor can they precede (it).”

Like his teacher, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Minister Farrakhan has consistently and constantly warned that Allah (God) will judge and ultimately punish America for its misdeeds committed “at home” but also “abroad.”

“It is our Sacred Duty to warn America that the ‘term’—a fixed term—of her power to exercise authority and rule not only over her own citizens, but over the peoples of the Earth: That term is fast coming to an end.”

The U.S. always presents itself as a benevolent and helpful ally and friend to the other nations of the world when it comes to fighting so-called terrorism or extremism. But as history has shown time and time again, America is the biggest terrorist of them all. There is an old saying: “Beware of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

The U.S. has functioned as a snake or serpent in its dealings, always swooping in under the guise of playing the hero for a chaotic situation it helped foster.

For Nigeria and other nations of the Earth, when America comes in extending its hand and offering its “support,” “friendship,” and “help,” be very careful, but more importantly, as the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad forewarned, serpents cannot be trusted, and “Beware of false promises.”

Our divinely designed bodies were made to naturally eliminate waste. In a Final Call article from Vol. 45, No. 29, titled “Declare War on Obesity (Fat),” the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan says, “The body must, of necessity, have a certain amount of fat.

However, to eat as we are eating and to put in our bodies the kinds of poisons that we are ingesting, is to act in diametric opposition to the Law of Life itself.”

He further states, “Too much Fat in the body is an accumulation of swill (garbage.) EXCESSIVE FAT [The Minister’s emphasis, not mine] is an enemy, and we must take it as an enemy,” Minister Farrakhan continues.

Since we know that “self-improvement is the basis of community development,” we also know that keeping garbage (bad and unhealthy foods) out of our bodies will help us develop a healthy, safe body to live in.

What does it mean to make our bodies “safe?” According to Webster’s online dictionary, one definition of “safe” is “free from harm or risk.” Safe also can mean “secure from threat of danger, harm, or loss.”

When we “eat to live” as taught by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and exercise, we help keep our bodies safe from harm and risk. What are some of the risks we want to avoid? One is the risk of having high blood pressure or diabetes.

Did you know that walking five times a week for at least 30 minutes a day can help regulate your blood sugar, reduce your stress and elevate your mood?

Moving throughout the day is very important, along with building our muscles. Building muscles helps to strengthen our bones and protect us from falls.

In the Holy Qur’an, Section 2 of Surah 17 is entitled “Every Deed Has a Consequence.” That title serves as a reminder to us of a principle we see throughout our lives. That principle is that with every action comes a result.

As a result of not taking charge of our bodies in various ways, our bodies are not as healthy as they could be. As we make our bodies healthier, we can make our communities healthier.

Never underestimate the power of movement. Several years ago, I had a desk job as an academic advisor. I taught only one class and spent most of my time sitting at a desk, advising students. I noticed that everyone in the office was overweight.

After a month of working there, I also noticed I was putting on weight, even though I still exercised for at least 30 minutes or more a day. Do you know what the problem was? I was still spending about six hours sitting down. A sedentary job is a silent killer of your metabolism and slows down your body’s ability to burn fat.

One day, I went to the transcript office to ask a question and met a very slender woman. She was using a standing desk! I said, “Oh, is this why you are so slender? She just smiled and mentioned that a standing desk keeps her more active.

I asked her where I could get a standing desk. I got one for my office that week and started slimming back down because of that one simple adjustment.

What is a simple thing that you can do this week to improve your health?

Insha’Allah (God-Willing), we will share more in an upcoming article. Read the books, “How To Eat To Live,” by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad to learn about which foods you should include and avoid on your health journey.

May Allah bless us all with peace, love, health, wealth and happiness.

If you’ve ever ridden the “L” (short for elevated) trains in Chicago, or any other electrified mass transit system in the country, you are familiar with the term “third rail.”

The third rail carries electricity that powers the train, and it is extremely dangerous to touch. It is something that should not be approached without the proper equipment. It could kill you.

There is a conversation emerging in public more prominently today than in the past, mostly because the issue had been considered settled and to raise it in a way counter to the popular narrative could put one in an uncomfortable position.

That question is, “Who are the real children of Israel,” or put another way, “Who are Allah’s (God’s) Chosen People?” Answering this question correctly and acting accordingly would put the world as we see it today in a position to receive mercy from Allah (God) for its transgressions.

Answering the question incorrectly or making it uncomfortable to have a public dialogue on the question gives us the condition we see the world in today—fear, chaos, confusion, war, rumors of war, and increasing natural disasters.

President Donald Trump recently participated in a public event titled “America reads the Bible” where he quoted from 2 Chronicles, verse 14, which says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

It’s the verse that served as the guiding scripture for the historic 1995 Million Man March called by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and attended by nearly two million men.

It is a verse that has consistently underscored Minister Farrakhan’s appeals to his people to seek atonement for our sins and for presidents and the government of America to give justice to the descendants of her former slaves, so the country could delay God’s Wrath.

Many seek to answer the question using the Bible as their sole “evidence.” Specifically, Genesis 15:13, where Allah (God) promises His servant Abram that his seed will be saved and awarded a great future after being subjected to brutal slave conditions for 400 years.

During a 2010 speech before thousands in Atlanta, Ga., Minister Farrakhan raised the question: “Who are the real Children of Israel? The Honorable Elijah Muhammad has said that Almighty God Allah revealed to him that the Black people of America are the real Children of Israel. And we are the choice of God; and that unto us He will deliver His Promise.”

These are powerful and controversial words, but he backed them up with a challenge to the world’s scholars of religion and history: “This question says that somebody has usurped our position.

This question says that somebody has taken The Promise of God to the Children of Israel and claimed it for themselves. But those of you who are scholars of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam: If you can disprove this, then I’ll pay with my life for lying.

“My declaring this, I know, will divide scholars, theologians, Jews, Christians and Muslims. But it is time, now, that a proper dialogue be set up to answer the question that I’ve raised, and answered.”

Interestingly, no scholar or clergy accepted the challenge. The only reaction was verbal stones thrown by those who fear Minister Farrakhan’s words, labeling him with terms aimed at detracting public attention from his message.

Meanwhile, in 2026, the world is watching a genocide of a whole people and the expanded seizure and occupation of land that belongs to others—all under the guise that the land is promised to the “chosen people” who are now taking back their land.

Why does such a simple question cause discomfort among people and nations that no public dialogue can be had on the various positions on the question? Why are people who raise the issue labeled “anti-Semitic,” “bigots,” “haters” and other ugly names?

There is overwhelming agreement among religious and academic scholars that, based on historical and archaeological evidence, or the lack thereof, the enslavement of the Children of Israel in ancient Egypt never happened.

And that “history” certainly has no connection to those who occupy Palestine today and who continue to encroach on the surrounding lands of its Arab populations.

Could it be that Shulamit Aloni, the former Israeli Cabinet member and former Minister of Education, was correct when she told Amy Goodman in a 2002 interview on Democracy Now!

That the use of the term anti-Semitism is “a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticizing Israel, then we bring up the holocaust. When in this country people are criticizing Israel, then they are anti-Semitic.”

If the definition of semite and semitism at one time referred to the various ethnic groups and languages prominent in the Middle East and parts of Africa, how did the term “anti-Semitism” come to refer solely to those who are “hostile” or “prejudiced” against Jewish people?

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches that the enemy has twisted the word of Allah (God) to cause the people to view Biblical scripture as 75% historical and 25% prophetic, when, in fact, the opposite is true—it is 25% historical and 75% prophetic—meaning most of what is written would happen in the future of the writing.

And since there is no evidence of Jews of today being in bondage to Pharaohs of ancient Egypt for 400 years, who is the promise referring to? If evidence can be presented confirming the promise refers to those occupying Palestine today, so be it.

If it is not, and there is evidence of a people today who have been in bondage in a strange land and persecuted for over 400 years, what then should be done?

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has called the scholars of the Abrahamic faiths—Muslims, Christians, Jews—to the table for dialogue to answer the question. Why hasn’t anyone accepted the invitation?

At the very beginning of the scriptures belonging to the Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—are passages of divine wisdom indicating that man and woman have been created in the image and likeness of God. And although the scriptures discuss the fall of man from the original position and condition of his creation, they are also replete with special and important occasions when the Spirit of God found a firm resting place to dwell within a particular man.

Why is it so important for the Black people of America to have the ability to see God working inside the person of one of our own kind?

Just pause to reflect upon how, for years, the idea of White supremacy has insisted that it is only the devil and his evil that uniquely resides within the person of the Black human being. White supremacy and its companion philosophy of Black inferiority have infected every institution within American society. To ponder that the Divine Spirit of Allah (God) can be found manifesting itself in the person of a modern-day Black man as he is used by The Almighty as an instrument to work through, in the unfolding of the divine destiny of the Black people of America, might sound to some as a blasphemous idea.

However, the “secret” ingredient responsible for the now famous miraculous Muslim transformation that has become a phenomenon throughout Black America, where heretofore spiritually broken Black men and women join the Nation of Islam and become renewed, restored and polished servants of the community, is found not in the stinging rebuke of White supremacy that the Nation of Islam is known for.

On the contrary, the “secret” ingredient producing that transformation is the truth of Allah’s (God’s) Divine and personal visitation to the Black people of America in the Person of The Great Mahdi, Master W. Fard Muhammad, who raised and taught the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. In other words, the amazing transformation seen among the Nation of Islam’s membership is brought about by the realization of men and women’s capacity and potential to be divine.

In God’s Image and Likeness

Despite the challenge that such a notion of divinity in man presents, that is exactly what the facts of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s life suggest.

The facts of Minister Farrakhan’s life show that the intention of Allah (God) for the Black people of America is becoming a reality. According to the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Allah’s intention is to resurrect the Black people of America, both mentally and spiritually, so that we would all be reflections of Allah (God).

He stated: “This is what He wants to make out of you and me, not just Believers but gods. Every one of you, according to what He has taught me, will be gods.”—October 8, 1972, Theology of Time Lecture Series

The life of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and his achievements prove Allah (God) and the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad are making the intention to make us all gods a reality. I argue that who Minister Farrakhan is, with his high level of spiritual advancement, is a bold demonstration of God’s intention for us all.

When we think about the beautiful way that Allah (God) has been working through Minister Farrakhan, we should never forget that he began his journey of spiritual ascendancy by sacrificing his extraordinary musical talent. According to the Bible, it states:

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’” —Matthew 16:24

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was asked by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad to give up his music and focus solely on teaching the Word of Allah (God). Minister Farrakhan’s great faith and love for the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and the truth that Allah (God) revealed to Him, led Minister Farrakhan to willingly sacrifice the only means of earning a living he had at that time. And from that point forward, Allah began to strengthen Minister Farrakhan, rewarding him for his sacrifice by making him the greatest helper and Minister the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad ever produced.

According to the Bible, there is quite possibly no better example of God working in a man than the Gospel narratives about Jesus. It is helpful to see and appreciate the 93-year journey of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan by examining how his life serves as an example. His life parallels the life and sacrifices of Jesus as discussed in the Gospel narratives. Below are just a few examples of those parallels.

Feeding the multitudes

When the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave the Minister the name “Farrakhan,” He told Him that it was one of the modern up-to-date Names of God. The circumstances of the Minister’s life bear witness that he is worthy of such a name. In Matthew 14:19-21, it was said of Jesus that he fed the multitudes.

The legendary and historic 1995 Million Man March, where nearly two million Black men came at the call of Minister Farrakhan, has been widely considered a miracle. Despite media discouragement of Black men from attending, and despite some pastors discouraging men from attending, nearly two million Black men attended. In the Bible in John 10:4-5, Jesus said, “my sheep know my voice, a stranger they will not follow.” The Million Man March was a display of Allah (God) operating through Minister Farrakhan to feed the multitudes of Black men assembled on the National Mall on October 16, 1995, with wisdom and truth sufficient enough to produce a dramatic reduction in crime throughout America and inspire Black men to register to vote, adopt needy Black children and join organizations to uplift the community.

Water to wine

Legendary hip hop journalist Kevin Powell exclaimed, “God knows, when I heard Farrakhan, I had never heard a Black man talk like that. It blew my mind, absolutely blew my mind, it was intoxicating … .” Mr. Powell’s candid reaction to Minister Farrakhan’s message as being intoxicating calls to mind the New Testament gospels describing how God worked through Jesus to turn water into wine. Synonyms of intoxicating include “exciting,” “exhilarating,” “stimulating,” or “producing great elation.”

Religious leaders threatened his supporters

According to the Bible, in the Gospel of St. John 7:13, it states, “But no one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public, for they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.”

Compare this scripture verse to what has become known in the modern day and time as the Farrakhan Litmus Test. It might be best exemplified by the case of A-List celebrity actor Bruce Willis who in 1998 was quoted in George magazine stating: “Farrakhan is a hero of mine; if I were Black, I would be with Farrakhan too.”

After Mr. Willis made this statement, the modern-day Pharisees, in the form of the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) and its then-leader, Abraham Foxman, threatened Mr. Willis and forced him to recant so he could continue working in Hollywood.

Stoned for good works

The scriptures discuss how Jesus was hated for the good works that he performed: “Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?”—John 10:32 KJV

In the life of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, he nobly stood in defense of the late Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson during his 1984 presidential campaign. During the campaign, Time magazine reported that members of the Jewish community attacked Rev. Jackson, stating:

“A group called Jews Against Jackson, an offshoot of the radical Jewish Defense League that has been disavowed by leaders of most Jewish organizations, pledged publicly to disrupt his candidacy. Two of its members were arrested for interrupting his announcement speech on Nov. 3 in Washington, D.C. A window in Jackson’s New Hampshire campaign headquarters in Manchester was smashed, and his campaign offices in Garden Grove, Calif., were firebombed. Jackson’s life has been threatened.”

In the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity with Rev. Jackson in his pursuit of the office of the president, Minister Farrakhan defended Rev. Jackson against a veritable Jewish onslaught. The Minister stated:

“But if you harm this brother, I warn you in the name of Allah, this will be the last one you harm. We are not making any idle threats, we have no weapons, we [don’t] carry so much as a pen knife. But I do tell the world that Almighty God Allah is Backing us up in what we say and what we do, and we warn you in His name—leave this servant of Almighty God alone. Leave him alone. If you want to defeat him, defeat him at the polls. We can stand to lose an election, but we cannot stand to lose our brother.”

Because of Minister Farrakhan’s sterling strong defense of Rev. Jackson, the modern Pharisees in the form of Nathan Perlmutter of the ADL and Nat Hentoff of the Village Voice began the public branding of Minister Farrakhan as a “Black Hitler” and “anti-Semite.”

The poor heard him gladly

One of the most important identifying markers of the spirit of Allah (God) working through Minister Farrakhan has been his unique capability to attract thousands of people to listen to him as he delivers profound messages of truth and enlightenment. This was also an aspect of Jesus’ ministry, as discussed in the Bible. According to the Book of Mark: “And the large crowd enjoyed listening to Him.”—Mark, 12:37. This scripture prefigures the fulfillment of the prophetic Jesus.

Compare this aspect of Jesus’s ministry with Professor Mattias Gardell’s conclusions about Minister Farrakhan. In his book entitled “In The Name of Elijah Muhammad: Louis Farrakhan and The Nation of Islam,” he stated: “Farrakhan is able to attract a larger audience than any other Black Spokesperson … . Farrakhan has a unique capability … able to reach deeply into the souls of Black youths … is able to talk to them in a way that really makes them listen … this rapport enables Farrakhan to criticize and redirect destructive behavioral patterns.”

Minister Farrakhan’s mass appeal, particularly among those members of the community deemed most at risk is now viewed as one of the hallmarks of his ministry and evidence of the Divine Spirit of Allah (God) working in him.

Without letters, but learned

The critics of Jesus in the New Testament are reported to have made a startling observation regarding Jesus’ profound intellectual capacity. The Gospel of St. John states: “The Jews then were astonished, saying, ‘How has this man become learned, having never been educated?’” —John 7:15

This is also an element of the public ministry of Minister Farrakhan. Just as his teacher the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad only went to the third grade of school, Minister Farrakhan went to college for three years, but he never received a college degree. And yet over and over again, Minister Farrakhan has proven to possess an invincible truth when positioned against the best minds the American media has produced. He has been interviewed by Tim Russert, Barbara Walters, Cokie Roberts, Sam Donaldson, Ted Koppel, Richard Engel, Mike Wallace, Phil Donahue and more. The educational credentials of these journalists boast impressive achievements. But none of them were able to defeat the Minister’s arguments. This aspect of his has been amplified in the social media viral clip of Minister Farrakhan intelligently and passionately vanquishing CBS’s legendary journalist Mike Wallace. The Minister, as one “without letters, but learned,” was up against Mike Wallace who has the following educational credentials.

“Mike Wallace of CBS’s 60 Minutes also held a B.A. from University of Michigan where an investigative journalism fellowship bears his name. His biography says that he ‘earned 21 Emmy Awards, five DuPont-Columbia journalism awards, five Peabody awards and the Paul White Award, the most prestigious award given by the Radio and Television News Directors Association.’ He also won the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award grand prize and television first prize in 1996, and was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in June 1991.”

I could not conclude this tribute article in celebration of my teacher on the occasion of his 93rd birth anniversary on May 11, without acknowledging the profound connection to the 93rd Surah (Chapter) of the Holy Qur’an. This Surah is entitled “Ad-Duha: The Brightness of The Day.” It is very popular within the Islamic community, for it is a “pastoral” Surah, in which Allah (God) reveals a gentle, sincere, and emotionally moving message to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). And every believer who reads the 93rd Surah derives great comfort and solace from Allah’s assurances extended to Muhammad that “God’s delay is not God’s denial.” His blessed assurance to Muhammad that his future will be far greater than his past and that despite his own feelings of insecurity, Allah (God) was not displeased with him, nor had Allah forsaken him. An excerpt of this short Surah reads as follows: “Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased… Did He not find you an orphan and give (you) shelter? And find you groping, so He showed the way? And find you in want, so He enriched you?”—Surah 93: 3, 6-8

Allah (God) working through the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has been for me, a constant comfort. When I have felt forsaken, I could listen to the Minister’s lectures and know that Allah had not forsaken me. When I have struggled to find my way, his words guided me and uplifted me. And when I have been in want or need, I could find solutions to apply in remembering what Minister Farrakhan said to me. I thank Allah (God) for blessing me with such a wonderful example and such an extraordinary teacher. He is a modern-day example of Allah (God) working in a man; a profound demonstration of Allah’s (God’s) love for our people and a blueprint for how each of us can rise above the circumstances of our life to fulfill our tremendous divine potential.

Happy Birth Anniversary to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Blessed be the womb that bore you; blessed be the seed that produced you!
