In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful, The One God to Whom all praise is due, Who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad to Whom praise is due forever.  We thank Allah for blessing us, for our beloved leader, teacher and guide, The Messenger of Allah, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. 

‘What The Muslims Believe’: A Reminder on Our Position toward the abject, despised

I wanted to start class by reciting something from the 80th Chapter of the Holy Qur’an, called ’Abasa, which means “He Frowned.”  It talks about Prophet Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, in Arabia, talking to a very prominent rich man, and a blind man came tapping up to Prophet Muhammad.  Prophet Muhammad was bothered by this blind man—because he was into this conversation with this rich man—and he looked at the blind man, and he frowned, and turned away.  When Prophet Muhammad frowned at the blind man, and turned away from the blind man, Allah (God) frowned on The Prophet, and the following verses were revealed:

“In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.  He frowned and turned away, because the blind man came to him.  And what would make thee know that he might purify himself, or be mindful, so the Reminder should profit him?  As for him who considers himself free from need, to him thou dost attend.  And no blame is on thee, if he purify himself not.  And as to him who comes to thee striving hard, and he fears—to him thou payest no regard.  Nay, surely it is a Reminder.  So let him, who will, mind it.”

Allah (God) is saying to Prophet Muhammad: “Why would you spend your time with those who really have no need of you, when a man came seeking you, who would be benefited by what you have to say, and you turned away from him, and you frowned?” 

The Bible has something similar in the 14th Chapter of the Book of Luke, in “The Parable of The Great Banquet” (verses 15-23).  Jesus was at a feast in the home of a prominent Pharisee when he began to teach his host, and those gathered, about “a certain man” who was preparing a great banquet, and invited many guests.  When the feast was ready, this man sent his servant out for the doctor, and the doctor was busy; he the servant out for the lawyer and the businessman, and they both were both busy.  So, he (Jesus) told his servant (his disciples): “Go out into the highways, into the byways, and bring me the lame, the halt, the blind, the leper; they will fill up my feast,” and they did.

What is the moral, or the lesson?  Dear brothers and sisters, The Nation of Islam started and was built by the most abject of our people.  Yes, the people that nobody else wanted could come to Muhammad—he never would turn them down.  The people that had no home, no place to go, no one to love them, no one to care about them; yes, the prostitute, the pimp, the lowlife, the dope seller, the dope user, the wine drinker, the man that was so far down in the mud, nothing was looking out but his eyeballs… 

But that is the man that knew he needed somebody, that is the woman that knew she needed somebody, so they reached out for Muhammad, as Muhammad reached out for them; and they came, and in a matter of moments they were cleaned up!  Then when you looked at them again, you saw them clean, shining, and strong, doing things that the learned had not the courage to do.

Well, as it was that way in the first building of The Nation of Islam, so it is in the second re-building of The Nation of Islam.  Who are the people that are going to be the foundational stones of this re-building?  Oh, the doctor may come, the lawyer may come, the teacher may come, and what a blessing it is that such brothers and sisters come at the ground-floor level.  However, the brother and sister who is willing to make the sacrifice, even of life, is the brother and sister who feel that they don’t have anything to lose. 

To the brothers of The F.O.I., and the sisters of The M.G.T., and to those of you who visit with us: If you know that we are having a general meeting, go get the brother in the mud, go get the sister in the mud!  I mean, if your friend happens to be a teacher or doctor, we don’t reject anyone. But the brother and sister in the mud, they are the ones that nine out of 10 times will stand up when there is nothing there to stand on but The Word. 

Others who are used to going in and out of fine buildings, they can’t join you unless you have a fine building (“Oh, I would come…  But there?  That place, among those people?  I can’t come, oh, no!  But when you move up on Broadway, I shall be there!”).  Well, we understand.  But we have some brothers and sisters who don’t care where truth is, they will go there. 

Study the Holy Qur’an to understand God’s Nature, which is Your Nature

So I thought we would start on that note, to let the brothers and sisters who feel that nobody cares, nobody loves you, nobody respects you, I want you to know how the Honorable Elijah Muhammad looks at you!  When asked, “Muhammad, where is your God?,” the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said: “Every time I look at a Black man, I am looking at God.” 

I don’t take those words lightly.  When I look at you, sister, when I look at you, brother, I know who I am looking at!  There is no sense in me praying to God and then mistreating you, because if I mistreat you I am already a mis-treater of God, for the very essence of The Nature of God is in you both!  And if you doubt it, then study the Holy Qur’an.  The Holy Qur’an is an Index of The Nature of God; it is telling you what The Nature of God is, and really, it is a key to The Nature of Your Self. 

If you doubt that you are like the Holy Qur’an describes you, brother and sister, then let anybody come to you pompous and proud, and immediately you start closing off and rejecting them.  This is because the Holy Qur’an says “none comes to Allah except he comes as a servant,” and none can come to you and win your love, and your respect, except he or she comes to you as a servant.  They can’t come to you boastful and arrogant, and proud. 

The Holy Qur’an teaches us that “Allah hates any self-conceited boaster.” And you know what?  You do, too.  You may not know why people turn you off, but if they boast, if they are self-conceited, if they are arrogantly proud, it turns you off.  But you love the humble, yes, you do!  And it is something about you, that whether you are right yourself, you respect righteousness.  You hate hypocrisy!  It is in you, that you hate anybody that preaches a good word and then lives totally contrary to what he preaches.  (You can’t go for that!  There’s nothing in you to make you go for that.) 

You are, actually, the reflection of Allah.  And when you submit, and we submit our will to do the Will of God, and when leadership represents Allah properly, they get the goodwill of the people.  And the goodwill of the people is the very essence of the people, and that’s what Elijah Muhammad attracted from his followers.

Never has there been a Black man in the history of America who was able to get another Black man or woman to give him all that we had.  The Honorable Elijah Muhammad got it all. That’s the truth, brother!  He didn’t play no games, but we believed in him as The Messenger of Allah, and we submitted to him, and whatever he wanted for us, we gave it to him. 

When White folks saw Black men and women submitting to Black leadership in that way, it totally threw them, because they understand that when Black men submit to Black men, the end of their power over us has come.  Anytime a Black man rises up with good in him for us, they always try to come in between us and that leader by saying ugly things about that leadership so that you will never give your all to one from among your own kind. 

The enemy knows how to short circuit your respect and commitment, so he will say, “Yeah, they’re stealing from you.”  That will short circuit your respect and your commitment just so.  Or, “They’re jiving you.”  When they start talking like this, you pull back; and the moment you pull back, and you close up your support, then the enemy says, “We’re on the road to overcoming them.”

Understanding that ‘force governed by intelligence’ is The Reality of God in Man

Study Message To The Black Man in America by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the chapter “Program and Position.”  On page 172, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad makes a declaration on Allah (God) in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad:  “Who can be saved, you will ask?  The Muslim believers who have submitted to the will of Allah and His religion, Islam, and those who faithfully followed and obeyed His Messenger. Let us try to do something for ourselves.  Give praises to Allah for converting the people to me and blessing us with peace and security. Allah is one God. He is independent and has no need of us, but we have great need of Him. It is He the Prophets predicted would come in the last days of the world seeking us, the Lost People, to save us and restore us to our own. I declare to you that He has come in the person of Master Wallace Fard Muhammad by (1) a summary of His work for the past 33 years and (2) by the Messenger, who believes in what has been revealed to him by his Lord, as do the believers. They believe in Allah and His Prophets and His books. We make no distinctions in His Messenger. We hear and we obey.”

“Who is Allah (God)?”  “How can Allah (God) come in the Person of a Man?”  (These are questions that have been asked regarding the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.)  There is an old saying that “truth is stranger than fiction.”  Some of our people would rather believe that a spirit created the heavens and the earth rather than to believe that man is capable of doing this that has been ascribed or given to a spirit or nonentity.  …  And if we have misunderstood “God” all these years, we can’t say we are going to understand God in a day; but, the key to understanding The Reality of The Divine Being is understanding the reality of your self.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, in telling us that Allah (God) is a Man, that puts him on the outside of the whole Islamic world because the whole Islamic world believes that God is a spirit.  Well, consider this: We have heard said that God is a “Supreme Force,” right?  But there is no force that we know of in the universe that doesn’t have behind it intelligence.  Electricity is a force, but it is not intelligent.  We just can’t say that “the universe was created by a force” and leave it like that; there is too much intelligence in the design and order of the universe to say that it was just “a force” that created it, because forces don’t have intelligence!  So it must be something that is “force,” alright, but a force that is governed and guided by “intelligence.”

Brothers and sisters, the prophets said they heard God speaking to them in their ear.  What “force” do you know of that speaks?  Name any force that you studied in physics or chemistry, any force in the universe that communicates words in a language in the ear of men.  Can you name one?  No, you can’t.  So if the prophets said they heard God’s Voice, what “force” has a voice speaking words in a language that the prophets understood?  God didn’t present Himself to all of the prophets, but He communicated with them through what they call “dreams,” “visions,” and they heard His Voice.  Only one prophet in the scriptures says he saw God “face-to-face,” and God spoke to him out of His Mouth, and that is Moses.

If we want to understand The Reality of God, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said that we live in a material universe—and God would have no pleasure in creating a material universe if He, Himself, were nothing of “matter.”  Everything that He created, you see; and there are things that He created that you don’t see, but nothing that He created is outside of “matter.”  “Spirit” and “energy” are wrapped up in matter; even down to the most intense light, which is called a “wave,” that is also matter and energy.  Even with an x-ray, which is a lower form of light than laser; the x-ray passes through you, but the x-ray still is “matter.” 

Now if this is so, then Master Fard Muhammad, Who was born of a woman: How could He be God?  The Christians teach that Jesus was born of a woman.  Yes, they do!  And they say that Jesus lived like ordinary men, and then grew to become God; and all the powers in the heavens and earth were turned over to Jesus, so that Jesus became “The Christ” which means “True God,” “True Man.”  That’s Christian teaching!  But when you tell the Christian that God is a Man, they don’t want to hear it—but yet, Jesus was a man.  Before and after his resurrection, Jesus was man. 

Allah (God), The Best Knower: His Nature is Our Nature

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us that Master Fard Muhammad’s Father was “Allah” before Him.  What does “Allah” mean?  The Qur’an opens up saying:  “I, Allah, am The Best Knower.”  Well, The One Who is “The Best Knower” is Allah.  Remember, there is no “force” that you know that can say it is “The Best Knower.”  Though knowledge is the supreme force, knowledge must be contained in something!  “Spirits” don’t walk around talking and conveying knowledge, it is a mind that contains knowledge, and Man is The Supreme Life in The Universe, and he is formed right after God, Himself. 

This is why the Holy Qur’an says Islam is not your religion, it is your nature, it is “The Nature of God and The Nature in which God created man.”  Allah (God) gives you His same nature.  Well, if you have His same nature, then you and Him are the same!  So, you’re not a “child” of God, you are a God, a descendent of The Creator Himself! 

“The time has come”: All the prophets have been talking about how God “will come.”  There is no prophet that said “God is present,” they said “God will come.”  Moses kept saying, “And when He comes…”; Noah said, “And when He comes…”; Lot said, “And when He comes… .”  Even Jesus said, “And when He comes, the Spirit of Truth, He will guide you into all Truth.” Jesus wasn’t talking about himself, he was talking about somebody that he recognized as greater than himself. 

David, the great prophet of Israel, looking down in the wheel of time, saw the “master prophet.”  This is why when you call the Honorable Elijah Muhammad a “messenger,” that’s the cheapest title you could give him, because he is not just a “messenger,” he is the master of all prophets.  He masters what they taught!  They were in darkness, and they revealed words of light, but they themselves didn’t understand the depth of what God had given them.  But the one who comes in the last days doesn’t come as a “prophet,” he comes with God. 

It is written that God would come after the sheep that was lost.  Brothers and sisters, God would come after you!  He wouldn’t send a prophet, He would come Himself. The Bible teaches, “In that day when God comes, every eye shall see Him, every tongue shall be made to confess.” 

How are you going to “see” something, but you can’t see?  What does this mean, “In that day, when you see Him, you will be like Him and He will be like you”?  What is the scripture talking about?  This means that as long as you don’t see God as yourself, you won’t call out of yourself your capabilities!  This means that as long as you think that The Master of The Universe is “some spirit out there,” you will never see yourself with the capabilities and possibilities of mastering the very forces of the heavens and the earth. 

You are the natural master of the forces of the universe, but you are going to have to grow into that, now.  So when God say it’s time to “go after the sheep that is lost,” where are they lost?  They are lost in The West, among wolves.  Who lives in The West?  The Caucasian.  Think about this: Anyone with jet black skin, if He comes into that house, they would spot Him immediately!  So the old Christians said, “Prepare me a body, that I may go down…” 

Brothers, this is beautiful wisdom if you understand it.  Here is a Man coming that is going to judge two people, the White man and the Black man.  He has to judge them, so He has to have the nature of both in order to deal with both.  In order to produce one that can get among the devils, The Father of Master Fard Muhammad had to find the right earth to plant His seed in. 

Look, there’s all kind of products that a farmer can produce, but you have to know the nature and quality of the earth and the nature and quality of your seed, and what you want to produce; then, you find the right earth for your seed.  One thing that we have never been taught, as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad mentions it in Message To The Blackman, on “Knowledge of Self”: The White man never wanted to teach Black people the science of mating.

We just lay down and have children, and luck up on geniuses (because we are so great).  But wise men study themselves, and know themselves.  Wise men say, “Well, I know ‘the multiplier,’ now let me study what ‘product’ I want.  If I want to produce this product, then if I am ‘the multiplier,’ and I know what I am, then what is ‘the multiplicand’?”  (Where will I find what I’m looking for to make my product?  For instance, if I know that I am a “4,” and I hope to produce an “8,” then I have to find a “2” to multiply with to produce the “8.”) 

Well, it is the same way in mathematics as it is in life: If I know what I possess, my characteristics, my qualities, and I know what I need, then I set my sight to look for the woman that has what I’m looking for, so that when I multiply with her I will get the product that I am after.  The Wise Father of Master Fard Muhammad was after a product that could get in among the devils.  And the scriptures say this of Him: “He came in sinful flesh to condemn sin in the flesh.”

Master Fard Muhammad, The Supreme Being: The Proof is in His Works

Master Fard Muhammad: A Man, born February 26, 1877.  He is not The Originator of the heavens and the earth; no, He wasn’t here then, but He is from that same line.  However, His knowledge is so great, that it supersedes the wisdom even of His Father.  He is so wise, so says the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Master Fard Muhammad pictured and extracted the language of the people on Mars.  He spoke the language of the birds, talked to the wild beasts. He knew the language of the human families. I mean, He listened to you think; knows your thoughts! 

That’s no “heavy thing,” when you understand; that’s minor stuff!  But the heaviest thing is to control the universe and master its laws, and make the universe bow to His Will. That’s the kind of power that He has! 

Master Fard Muhammad comes to North America, as the scriptures teach “He came alone…”; and the Book teaches “He would measure the Earth, and tell its measurement.”  When He came, Master Fard Muhammad shot to us a barrage of questions: “What is the square mileage of the Earth?” “How much is the land? How much is the water?”  And He gives the answers: “196,940,000 square miles, that’s the square mileage of the Earth,” “The Water is 139,685,000 square miles,  and the Land is 57,255,000 square miles.” 

He starts running the circumference, the diameter and the distance between the Planets.  He is telling the Honorable Elijah Muhammad: “Look, I am The Master of this!  And I’m going to make you the master of this, so I’m going to give you a Flag that shows a master…  I’m giving you The Sun, The Moon and The Star—and the only man that is qualified to wear that Flag is a master!” 

And Master Fard Muhammad says to us, the Lost Sheep: “And you have to master the law that governs the universe in order to be qualified to wear The Flag of The Universe.  But I am going to give you that because I am a Master, and I am going to make you a master; but before I make you a master, I have to make one man among you a master.  Because, I am half-Original; I have a White-looking face, though my father is a jet-black man, but I’m coming to put a Black head on a Black body. 

I am not to be the head of that body, I am to be The Head of the head of that body; I am not to be the head of that body, therefore I searched among the Lost-Founds to find Me one man worthy.”  And Master Fard Muhammad found a little Georgia-born Black man that only went to the third grade of school, and He taught him three and one-half years, and went away. 

To prove that He, Master Fard Muhammad, is God, The Supreme Being: He leaves a man who didn’t go to school, and that man confounds the scholars with what His Teacher taught him!  To prove that He is God, Master Fard Muhammad tells little Georgia-born Elijah what was on Mars, what is on The Moon, and the nature of The Moon, and how The Moon got to be The Moon.  And the Honorable Elijah Muhammad reveals it, and the White man goes up and bears witness: “Elijah is right!”   Here is a little Georgia-born man telling you what was coming down the pike. We couldn’t even see the pike, much less what was coming!  And every word that Elijah spoke is right on it.  Who taught him but a Master?

Those who say that Master Fard Muhammad is not God:  Then who are you worshipping?  You say, “I worship the true God, Allah.”  Well then, what has your God taught you that is superior to what The Man, Master Fard Muhammad, taught Elijah? How come your scholars can’t handle the followers of Elijah?  How come the world couldn’t deal with that man Elijah? 

How come the White man, who is a vicious beast, brother…  God raised up a little lamb in the midst of a beast, and the beast couldn’t eat Elijah.  Who was The God shutting that man’s mouth, and opening the mouth of Elijah?  We don’t carry no guns.  We were taught by Master Fard Muhammad through The Messenger: “Don’t even carry so much as a penknife.”  And they have attacked us, and we’ve taken their weapons and killed them with their own weapons! 

What God has been with us?  And to prove that God is still with us: The Honorable Elijah Muhammad has left, but he left his word with us.  Now we take the same word, and go right back to what the White man tore down, with hypocrites among us, and we are building it back up, defying the world.  God is present…  And you’re going to see it more and more when the devil starts attacking in the future. You will see that they won’t be able to do anything with Elijah Muhammad, nor his followers.  No, there’s a God!  He is present, and He has power.

Go study into The Attributes and Characteristics of God as found in the Holy Qur’an and the Bible; they will show you that these are not attributes of spirits, these The Attributes and Characteristics of The Divine Human Being. 

God is Ever-Living, that is true!  The Nation of Islam: There is no end to us, we will always be here.  See how cells in the body die all the time, but the body continues?  Every time you get in the bathtub, you see that ring around the tub.  Those are dead cells.  You are alive, but the cells have died; but, they gave birth to other cells. You’re straight!  Well, that is the way it is with God: The body remains, and it keeps on producing one who will be the head of that nation; and that head is always the best knower.

How can you  tell that Master Fard Muhammad is The Best Knower? He is revealing that which no man ever considered before. And when they try to fight it, the more they fight it, the more they say: “Man, He’s right.”

We are in a very, very serious hour. The sun is setting on this world, and as we approach the darkness of the hour, we have to be much more prayerful and much more mindful of what we think, what we say, and what we do. This is the greatest nation in the history of the present world, and our presence in this nation was fulfillment of Divine Prophecy. As it is written in the scriptures of the Bible, “I did not try you with silver and gold. But I tried you in the furnace of affliction.” We have been thoroughly tried in the 450 years of our sojourn in America and in all of our trials, in all of our pain, in all of our setbacks as a people, we have never turned on Allah (God). Even though some of us have wondered why are we suffering as we are suffering, what is it Allah (God), what have we done?

There is a scripture in the Book of John where there was a man born blind and Jesus and His disciples saw the man that was born blind and the disciples asked him, “Who did sin that this man is born blind? Did his mother sin? Did his father sin?” And Jesus said, “Neither his mother nor his father. But he is born blind that the works of God might be made manifest in him.”

Who did sin that we, as Black people, are in the condition that we are in–having eyes but not being able to see; having ears but having not really heard the word of God that would change the reality of our lives; having tongues but not being able to speak? Who did sin that the oppression on us has been harder than on any people in the annals of history?

There is something about the way Allah (God) handles what He loves. The scripture says that those whom the Lord loveth He chastens much. What is it that Allah (God) wanted from us that He would put us in the hands of somebody that hated us as the racist, White supremacists of this nation have hated and still hate us? How, God, could you tell me that you love me and then allow my fathers to be brought out of Africa and come into something like this? Allah (God) would say, “Yes, I know it was rough on you, son; it was rough on you, daughter. But I created the human being to struggle and to face difficulties. It is only when you struggle, it is only when you face the difficulties of your life that it brings out of you what I, the Creator, put in you. I never meant for you to have an easy time, because you can’t come into Me or come unto Me except you come through trial and tribulation. You can’t come into Me to be one with Me, and I with you, except that you be a purified thing. And the means of purification is not easy.

The Bible talks about gold and silver and their process of purification. When you are a purifying agent, you have to put that which is being purified into the fire and you’ve got to hold it there. You can’t hold it too long and you can’t hold it too short. You’ve got to watch it just right. When the dross is burnt off and it’s white hot but not burnt out totally, then you can fashion it and shape it into what you want it to be. Allah (God) wants to fashion a people to rule forever. This is what Jesus was talking about when he said if you follow him you will have eternal life. It does not mean that any human being will live forever. But, he will put you in a position where you and your people and your nation and your world will never die. We have been living in a world seeing nations rise and fall, seeing empires come up and go down. But, when Allah (God) makes a people after His own likeness, you will be like the sun: You will have permanence and you will be a light for the nations of the earth.

The Qur’an says that the Ka’bah (in Mecca) is a sign. The black stone there is a sign. And just as the Ka’bah had to be rebuilt–it’s an ancient, ancient house, the oldest house of worship known–so are you, the oldest people on this planet, like a house broken down that has to be rebuilt. You are a house full of idols, from which you must be purified. Taking stones and idols out of the Ka’bah is not more important than taking us away from polytheistic beliefs. Taking idols out of the holy house in Mecca is not more important than cleansing the human being from setting up rivals or partners with Allah (God) that are His own creation. It is only when we, as a people, are purified of all those things that are less than Allah (God) that we bow down and give worship so that we are washed and cleansed. The Bible teaches that you can’t put new wine in an old wineskin, lest the wine skin break and the new wine spill. That means we, as human beings, have to be renewed, purified, before that new wisdom can come in. And if that new wisdom is from Allah (God) Himself, and we take it in, then He will be in us and we will be the Glory of Allah (God).

We are not that right now. We are caricatures of what Allah (God) intended when He created the human being. We have not seen what the human being is capable of accomplishing, if we were cleansed of polytheism; if we were cleansed of the worship of things, rather than the pure worship of the one God. That is why we have been in this period of great suffering.

Sisters, you have been in a period of great suffering. You are to us like Hagar was to Abraham— You are running in the wilderness, looking for help because your man is not a help for you. That’s a negative condition. But, when we go to Mecca, we know Sarah was Abraham’s wife and we honor and respect Sarah, but we don’t follow the path of Sarah. When we go to Mecca and run between those hills, we are following the path of Hagar. Why Hagar?

Every woman wants a man that will be as Allah (God) intended a man to be. And what did Allah (God) intend a man to be in relationship to the woman? He said in the Qur’an that men are the maintainers of the woman. That’s a big job. That does not mean just giving her food, clothing or shelter. It means maintaining her in all aspects of her being, from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet. You can’t maintain a woman with physical strength. You can maintain a woman with spiritual strength and with wisdom. She is not created by Allah (God) to follow you with just physical strength. She can be attracted to you that way, but she will never stay with you. She will always be looking somewhere else because her mind is not being fed as it would be by a man who is a man of God. She is created from Allah (God), and the only man that she can be loyal to, and faithful to, and honorable with is a man who is truly a man of Allah (God).

Allah (God) created the human being to struggle. And most of us don’t like struggle. We like ease. But the Holy Qur’an says, after difficulty comes ease or with difficulty comes ease. You’re not going to get ease without difficulty. When the difficulties come in your life, know that ease is coming. You can’t run from the difficulty with a bottle in your hand, or with a reefer in your hand, or with the pipe in your hand, or with a woman by the hand thinking that this is going to console you and comfort you in your hour of difficulty. That’s running; that’s trying to escape. When you’re in difficulty, you must say, “Yes, Allah, I’m going to face it. Whatever it is, I know You are my Patron, you are my Friend, and You will see me through this. But I’ve got to face it. I can’t run from it.” When we face the difficulty with the help of Allah (God), we find ourselves overcoming it. And every time you overcome it with the help of Allah (God), you’ve wiped out another idol. You won’t worship this or that idol any more.

But, you know something? The Qur’an says, “I delivered you from every distress and lo you set up other God’s beside Me. Surely man is ungrateful.” And do you know that the first line of gratitude to show your love for Allah (God) is to show your gratitude to your mother? Whether you think your mother is all that you wanted her to be or not, you are not your mother’s judge. Allah (God) did not bring you into the world to be a judge of your mother. She may be wrong, but she’s your mother. She may not have been able to give you all the things that you needed or wanted, but she’s your mother. She bore us with fainting and pain and she died in order to give us life because the pain of birth is equal to the pain of death.

If you are not grateful for your mother, then there is nobody that you will ever be grateful to or for, and you certainly will not be pleasing in the eyes of Allah (God). You can’t be grateful to Allah (God) whom you have never seen, and be ungrateful for the blessings that He sends to you through those whom you see every day.

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

I am honored to have a few moments to address you on what they call “Father’s Day.” However, The Enemy always has a way of commercializing on our natural love for those who have served us, and served us well.

On “Mother’s Day,” billions of dollars is spent to fatten the pockets of merchants who benefit from our love for our mothers. And last “Father’s Day,” billions of dollars went out of the pockets of poor people who loved their fathers and loved their mothers, and wanted to show in some small way how much we appreciate what our mothers and our fathers have done for us.

But the Bible, in the Book of Exodus (20:12), the scripture teaches us to “honor your mother and father, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord, your God, gives you.”

God didn’t say honor your mother and father “one day out of the year”; but that is an every day work for us to honor our mothers, honor our fathers, and make them to know we love them and appreciate them.

Prepare yourself for the role of ‘father’

My subject is “The Need For, and The Search For, ‘Father’.” Every human being needs a “father”; otherwise, God would not have ordained such. Every human being needs a father, but most humans who are fathers do not generally know how to be that.

We think that the sperm that is emitted which produces life makes us a “father,” but the sperm that produces physical life is what starts a man on The Journey to prove what he has learned up to that point, that prepares him to be a “father.”

The Bible teaches in Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way it should go: and when it is old, it will not depart from it.” But the question is: What is “the way” that the child “should go”?

Since the word should is the conditional form of the verbs “to go” or “should go,” then what are the conditions that must be present in order for a child to go in the way that it should go? And how can it go that way if mother doesn’t know the way? How can it go that way if father is not there to prepare the way?

So when you look at the word “father” in the dictionary, “to father” something means “to create; to found, to originate, and to acknowledge responsibility.” We call old and venerable men “father,” because the word venerable means “one that is worthy of respect or reverence by reason of character, dignity, position or age.”

Father’s Day… There are too few of us around these days who know the real role of a “father.” Well, how can you learn what your role as a father is? Where will you find a book, or something to teach us how to be what all of us eventually become as men?

If we live, we are born to procreate, so we become what should be a “father”; but because we have never known a “father,” or we don’t have a guide to how to be a father, we rarely become that.

So I thought I would reference the Bible, the Book of Genesis, and see how to be a father: How to be a producer, how to be a creator, a founder, an originator; how to acknowledge the responsibility that God has put on the shoulder of a man.

Since Genesis is “the birth” or “the beginning” of things, then surely we should find some record in here on how to be a father.

Well, who is our example for a “father”? If God made man in His own image and after His own likeness, then The Example of a “father” is God. In Genesis, Chapter 1, it teaches that God “created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void.

And darkness was upon the face of the deep,” and God went about separating the firmament from the waters, put light in the heavens … . He was busy doing things in preparation for His creatures! God made a way for each creature to fulfill that which nature requires of it.

Now you think about that: There is no “bread line” for worms; there is no “welfare” for sparrows. Even buzzards that live from the dead flesh always have something to eat. Somebody prepared for a creature before the creature came into existence, in order that the creature might sustain the life that The Creator gave it.

The Bible teaches that after “six (6) days” of work—while The Holy Qur’an says it a little different, in “six (6) periods”—here comes Adam. But the thing that fascinates me is that after “the sixth day,” God saw everything that He had made and said (pay attention to His words): “It was good; it was very good,” so He didn’t make a “bad” man; He didn’t make a “bad” woman!

But God, for His Handiwork, wanted a man that is powerful. In Genesis, Chapter 2, He said: “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.”

See, no man should be without work, because God didn’t create us to sit around and do nothing! God created the first man to go to work and “till the ground.” When you “till” something, you prepare the land for raising crops by plowing and fertilizing.

So God had given man a job; and the fruit of the job would be what he produced from his labor. God was teaching man how to be a father, because no father is better than Our Father which art in heaven.

It is interesting to me that if God made man and said “it was good, and very good,” how did we get into this condition?

God did not make a mistake. He made a man, and the one thing He did for the human that He never did for any creature is that all of the creatures have to obey the law under which it is created. They can’t deviate.

But the human being, male and female: He gives us what is called “free will.” You and I can choose.

A Father’s test for His son

The God, after He made Adam, put him in a garden. That is really nice; fathers should always prepare a place for their children… . As men: You don’t have babies and not the wherewithal to prepare a place for them to grow, and an environment in which they can grow in accord with their nature.

God put Adam in a Garden, and He said to him: “Look at all these trees here. You can eat the fruit of all these trees, but I have one here in the middle of this garden, ‘The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil’—and I don’t want you to eat from that tree.”

Now, I have never heard God talk directly, but Adam had a direct communication with God. Then the Book teaches God commanded Adam; so the first act of God after putting the boy in the garden was to give him a command.

But He also gave Adam free will: No man can come to The Father except he is tested or tried, so by every right, God had a right to test Adam. He gave him everything, so God said, “Now I want to see if you appreciate Me.”

Every father that makes a way for his child should be appreciated for the effort; so God wanted to know: “Adam, I did all of this for you as a Father would do for a son.” He didn’t call him a “son,” but what else was he? When you make a son and he doesn’t look like your image or your likeness, you are going on The Maury Povich Show… .

Therefore, if this one was made in the image and the likeness of The Creator, then in Him were the same qualities that are in The Creator. It’s very special.

God wanted to test him. It doesn’t say “I made the serpent,” but if a serpent was there, God had something to do with that. So, “I am going to see now if My servant, My son, will be obedient to My simple command, to show Me his gratitude:

Son eat of all of these things, but this tree is The Knowledge of Good and Evil, and you shouldn’t eat of it. For in the day that you eat thereof, you will surely die.” It is very interesting that the serpent then comes.

And snakes—human snakes, or humans that have the characteristic of a snake—are always looking for a way to interpret, or reinterpret, a command of God that will make you or me rebel.

Now what in the world is wrong with Adam, that when God gave him all these herbs to eat, all these trees with fruit to eat, there now is this tree in the middle of the garden which he thought was good for food? As though God didn’t give him food!

See, you and I surrender to Satan because he is always offering you something that God has not yet given you; or that God has already given you, but you have “pasted over” what God has given you.

So Adam, a Father to be, was being prepared to be a Father as God was to him, and all of a sudden he finds a reason to disobey. When Adam rebelled he did two things that were the original sin: He disobeyed, and he set up another god beside God.

‘Further what your father’: Knowledge to pass on for future success

To all the men who may be reading this: You can’t be a “father” without God. You don’t know how to be a father or a husband without God. And as men, it has been our failure to submit to God that has weakened us in our ability to be a father or a husband.

When you rebel against God, you weaken your own power to provide a place for your wife, to provide a wholesome environment for your children. Don’t come to church and “talk God,” go back home and live God! The more we live God, the more ability we will have to be a father.

Look at the words “father” and “farther”: When you project the seed, or the sperm, you have furthered your existence into the future. So a “father” has to be able to further what he fathers! You cannot further what you father by saying “I love you.” You can further what you father by doing what God did for Adam.

The Bible teaches that God breathed into Adam “the breath of life,” and he became “a living soul.” The Qur’an says it differently: When God made Adam, He taught him “all the names.”

When you teach your servant the names of things, you teach your servant the characteristics and the nature of things so that what you teach your servant will allow your servant to rule.

God could not give Adam supremacy over the foul of the air, the fish of the sea and every creeping thing that crawled unless He gave Adam knowledge of those things, and knowledge of himself.

So you cannot “further your children” and don’t know how to breathe into them The Word of Life from God. When you know God, know His Word—and live your life according to His Word—then you can further your children by The Knowledge that you give them.

But as parents, you won’t be able to stop your children from being tested; from being tried in life. They must develop The Value System of Christ in their own lives so that they can make a choice now whether “I am going to live for him”—or die in rebellion against him.

Obedience to God is the beginning of The Eternal Kingdom

Let us study Cain and Abel: Cain was a tiller of the ground, and Abel took care of the sheep. The Book teaches that there was “no man to till the ground,” so certainly if the first-born was a tiller of the ground, surely that is an honorable profession.

We all have to eat. If you live on a farm, you know farming is “no joke.” So Cain worked the field, breaking a sweat; and when he got the first fruit of the ground, he presented it to The Lord. And Abel, who was tending the sheep, took the firstling of sheep and presented it to God. God accepted Abel’s work and “rejected” Cain’s.

Now here is something I just want to say to the children: Sometimes you may think mom and dad are “rejecting” you if they show displeasure with some aspect of your work.

They are not rejecting you; but when you see mom or dad make over one of the children for something that they did to please them—because we are human; we want our children to do things that please us… . Well, doesn’t God want us to do things which please Him?

But suppose you do something that you see is good and doesn’t seem to get the favor as something that your brother or sister has done: How are you going to handle it?

In the case of Cain, he misjudged the whole thing. God is so far-seeing; that this is in The Genesis—but He knew way down “The Wheel of Time” that “a sheep” would be “lost.” And “the first born of God” is called “The Lamb of God”;

So God took a lamb from Abel not because Abel’s offering was better than Cain’s, but because in the end, when The Rebellious Day is over, a Lamb of God would be born Who would obey God and become The Eternal Father of a Nation that would obey God.

“For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given and a government shall be upon his shoulder and he shall be called wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the prince of peace, the everlasting Father and of the increase of his government of peace there will be no end.”

A “failed father” in the beginning; a “successful father” in the end: That is the beginning of an Eternal Kingdom of God.

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

For the past two Sundays, I have been talking to you, and to the world through internet, about a human-built planet that is above our heads, made like the Universe. Wheels within wheels. The enemy calls them “UFOs.”

This Wheel was seen by Ezekiel in a vision 595 years before Jesus the prophet was born. His vision has now become a reality, and it has frightened the scholars and scientists of this world, because the wisdom that is apparent from the way the Wheels move tells the scholars and scientists that they have no wisdom, science, or the technology to equal or touch what God has produced for two purposes.

You have heard it said when Allah (God) destroyed the wicked in the days of Noah by flood; and you have heard it said when Allah (God) destroyed the wicked in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah: Water that time—fire the next time.

You have read in the Qur’an and in the Bible of a fire that would burn. You don’t need to look for that after you are dead. If you live through these next few years, you would be wise to try and escape the fire that was not prepared for you, but was prepared for Satan, and all his hosts.

I told you two weeks ago, as I had said it when I made the announcement that Elijah Muhammad gave me to make, that before you can mock me, you would see these Wheels over the major cities. And for 10 days straight, The Wheel was seen over Lake Erie. However, Chicago newspapers; the news media are not talking about it, because it verifies what I said!

The Wheel is there to destroy the United States of America at the Command of God.

Why did God destroy Pharaoh? He was angry with Pharaoh over Pharaoh’s mistreatment of the Children of Israel.

Why is God angry with America? Allah is angry over America’s mistreatment of the Black man and woman of America who are His people!

As I said in my Saviours’ Day message two weeks ago, the Children of Israel are not the so-called Jews. The Bible and Qur’an, from one cover to another, is talking about you, me,—us—that would be in bondage in America under a wicked oppressor for 400 years. And, for 450 years, we have been here in America, and we have caught hell every day of that 450 years.

You may think: “Yes, but today we have a Black president!” President Barack Obama cannot save America. He would like to; he has a good heart, but unfortunately he has come at The Time of the Fulfillment of the Judgment that is spoken of in both these books.

You have read, in both Bible and Qur’an, that we should be looking for a man like Moses. And Moses is referred to more in the Qur’an than any other prophet. Why? It is because the People of Moses were subjected to harsh treatment and torment by a wicked ruler. And the man like Moses would come from a people who are also tortured, destroyed, and turned inside-out by a wicked ruler whose people were wicked also.

In the Bible, Pharaoh said, “Me and my people are wicked.” So, in the greatest nation of the last 6,000 years, here we are, in the worst condition that we have ever been in.

We are proud of our Black president, and the beautiful people that he has surrounded himself with that are Black. When you turn on your television, you look at Black news commentators; we have Black governors, Black mayors, Black police chiefs, Black city councilmen, Black sheriffs.

What do you think they are in office for? They’re in office to show us that we have the ability to govern ourselves if we are separated from our enemies, and have land and territory of our own. We have qualified people among us that we can run a Nation, a government—and even a world!

The enemy already knows this, so today, you are a lawful captive, as Isaiah the prophet said. You’re legally bound to your slave master. You wear their names; and you confess their religion. You’re a White person in Black skin.

They have made us into themselves, so the wickedness that we do every day of our lives is because of our sojourn with wickedness; with wicked rulers that we have looked up to. And through a religious teaching, that makes Jesus a Caucasian; and then call him the “Son of God,” knowing that if he is the son, and he has a father, he’s White, then the father must also be that, so this is a subtle way of making you worship White people, and hate yourselves.

Don’t be afraid! I’m doing the talking. But the fearful and the unbelieving will have their part in the Lake of Fire.

God Himself has declared war on Satan

When God comes, after the workings of Satan, He declares war on Satan. So the Coming of God is the beginning of The Final War.

Do you know why Jesus, The Messiah, is dangerous to Satan? Because Jesus first starts as a teacher, casting out demons. Then Jesus said, “Think not that I come to bring peace, nay, a sword….”

When a man talks about “bringing a sword,” well, you know what a “sword” is. But when you look up the definition, it means armies, where there is going to be violence and destruction, because when Jesus comes, he comes to set in motion that which will bring about the destruction of the world that Satan has made.

This means systems of government, politics, education, juristprudence, religion, art, culture, economics, social system. All of that is already here!

And in the Bible, the man that comes says, “Behold, I make all things new, and the former things shall pass away.” You will not live under the government of America. You won’t live under the politics of this world. You will come out of their educational system that makes you a slave to material things, so that you work more for money than for the service of the people who need your knowledge the most. You will come out of their system of juristprudence. Yes—and you will also come out of religion.

Satan has poisoned all of religion, so God is not coming to reform it—He’s coming to get rid of it all, and set a new thing down! There will be a New Islam! He makes all things new.

Christianity vs. Islam: Which one will survive?

“Which One Will Survive the War of Armageddon?”—this is a question that Master Fard Muhammad asked, where on a blackboard under this question was a picture of America’s flag of stars and stripes on the left side, and the Flag of Islam’s Sun, Moon and Stars on the right side.

Underneath these flags were the words: Christianity vs. Islam.

Islam (The Sun, Moon and Stars) or the Stars and Stripes? The American flag has great meaning, but the Flag of Islam has greater meaning, because the American flag cannot exist without The Sun, The Moon and The Stars. The people of The Flag of Islam are the people of Islam. The people of this, the American flag, are the people of the Cross (Christianity).

Now look at this: America right now is leading the nations of the West—England, the European Union; even Japan, and some other nations—against what? Islam. Master Fard Muhammad knew that America was going to lead the fight against Islam!

Do you really think America wants peace? Do you see what’s happening to your country? I’m talking now to the citizens of America. Do you think that the wise in America did not know that a showdown was coming between them and your God? I want to show you how America is preparing for The Great War, which she has already lost. It’s just a matter of time now.

What is the meaning of Armageddon? In 1972, at Mosque Maryam, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad went into that word: The first three letters, A-r-m, does not mean your arm strength, but it represents arms and armies.

“Armies,” the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, “gathered together for the doom.” All the armies of the Earth, now, are getting ready.

My dear Christian family, I hope that you will not say that we are enemies of Christians, because the Qur’an does not say that. The Qur’an says, “Those who are Christians and those who are Jews and those who are Sabians, those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, they have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.”

If you follow Jesus as Jesus would have you follow him, you don’t have to be afraid in an hour like this. I’m saying this to Christians who are White, or non-White. But you can’t play with Jesus, because he’s not to come—he is present.

And to be very frank about it, I represent him.

The Synagogue of Satan

America has now become a “fascist” country. Do you remember how Senator Huey Long is quoted as saying, “When fascism comes to America, it will be called anti-fascism.”

Fascism is designed, and defined, as an authoritarian political ideology that combines nationalism with a corporatist, economic system. Fascists advocate the creation of a single party. Do you think that the Democrats and the Republicans are different?

Who controls the U.S. Congress? Do you think it’s you? Can you really depend on the Senate and the House of Representatives to represent your interests? They’re in bed with insurance companies. They’re in bed with special interests. And they’re in bed with Israel.

Many of your senators and congresspersons are honorary citizens of Israel, and members of the Knesset control America’s wealth. President Bush was controlled! There’s not a president that is the real power! The real power are those money people! Barack is not in power! How dare you think that he could give you what no other president before him has been able to give you, even if they desired to do it!

Right next to the Holocaust Museum in Washington is where the Federal Reserve prints the money. The Federal Reserve is the Synagogue of Satan. They, along with the Rockefellers, the DuPonts, the House of Rothschild: These are the people that have corrupted the entire world. And I am here to pronounce your doom!

You will never kill me

I have to pay the price for what I teach, but you won’t say that I don’t love you, because I’m willing to die to prove it, as well as to live to prove it.

What I said today is a death sentence on myself. But you know, the Bible says, “My father, he sits in heaven, and he laughs at you if you think thatyou can put that small-time stuff over today on us!”

I know that when you write of me after what I said today, you will step up your anger and your hatred of me, and those that are with me. It is written that the Dragon was after the Woman that was pregnant with a man child who was destined to rule the nations with a rod of iron. So the Dragon spewed out of its mouth a flood after the Woman.

The Book of Revelation teaches, “The accuser of our brethren”—meaning the prophets—“who accuse them night and day before the throne is cast down…” so unleash your flood. It will only carry away those who are not firmly moored; firmly settled.

Come after me with all that you have. ButI want to tell you today, that before the week is out, God will answer what I have said today.

He wants you to know that your hatred of me will bring about the death and destruction of what you think you love. He may allow you to take me into your hands—my life, you can’t have. But He may allow you to take me, but you will never kill me. Never!

Recently, there was some wind blowing in New York, and the planes couldn’t fly. There was some unusual snow coming down, where nothing moved; tornadoes; and floods and mudslides on the West Coast. But earthquakes: You’ve been having little tremors. Within one week since I last spoke to you, there were 72 earthquakes that took place. And you haven’t seen anything yet!

There will be more wind, more unusual rain and violent storms. You all better start storing something in your houses—and I’m not talking about guns—I’m talking about food that is non-perishable, because this thing is falling, and falling fast. And when your people can’t find jobs, and can’t have money, murder and bloodshed will be all in the streets. There may come a time when you won’t be able to come to the mosque, but the Qur’an says, “Make your homes places of worship.”

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said that there will be hail stones coming out the sky like blocks of ice, killing all your livestock! Destroying your homes, and killing anything that it touches! So go ahead and come after us!

I am His Son, so to you preachers and rabbis: Call that blasphemy! And if you go to war with Iran, I can’t be with you, so call that sedition! I am not going nowhere!

According to the Bible, the Pharisees realized that Jesus was preaching their doom, and when they reached out to get him, he was gone.

When the enemy comes for me, know that when my feet are gone, the end of your world has come because God is going to multiply your calamities.

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

In The Beginning (“The Genesis”), “Satan,” as a serpent, only deceived two people in The Garden.  But in The Revelation—and the end of his time—Satan is now a huge dragon that has deceived the whole world.

In the Book of Revelation, the 12th Chapter, the 9th verse, it reads:  “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” 

Look at the evil that’s in the world:  Look at the hatred, the division, the schisms, the strife, the enmity that’s in the world; the bloodshed that is in the world; the wars and revolutions that are in the world—all of this is real. 

So if the wars are real, the evil is real, then The Cause that produced this is as real as The Effect.  We knew, before The Caucasian came into the world, we had many problems among ourselves; but not to the degree that it is now. 

So The Enemy knows that The Time is now for his deceit to be exposed, and for him to be exposed, and so he has to become a “universal snooper” … . 

In the Holy Qur’an, Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (“The Cow”), verse 30, when Allah (God) said He was going to “place a ruler in the Earth that would create mischief and cause the shedding of blood” the angels were confused. 

They said, “We celebrate Your praise, and extol Your holiness—but why would You do something like this?” and God said, “I know what you know not.”

Satan has a work to do in causing mischief and the shedding of blood.  So Satan says to God, “Please respite me”; “Delay my doom for the evil that I am doing, for the mischief that I am making, for the blood that I am shedding. 

Delay my doom until the day when they, whom I have put to sleep with the carbon monoxide of my lies, are raised.”  Raised how?  “Into the consciousness of me”—Satan—“and The Lies I have told, and The Deceit I have worked throughout the entire world.” 

Then Satan said to God, “Now that I am respited, I’m going to come at them.”  Come at who?  The People who are of Allah’s (God’s) Nature: 

“I’m going to come at them from before them, from behind them, from the left side and from the right side, and You won’t find most of them thankful.  In fact, I’m going to make them all deviate.”

Satan said:  “I’ll come at them from behind them; I’ll follow up their righteousness with mischief.  I’ll come at them from their right side, posing as a ‘friend’—and then I’ll come at them from their left side as their Open Enemy. 

And when I get finished with them, they’ll be so confused, they won’t know who their real ‘friend’ or ‘enemy’ is.”  Look at the confusion in Tahrir Square in Egypt:  Now, these poor people don’t know where all this started. 

But Satan does … .  Look at the confusion in Syria, in Qatar, in The Arab Emirates in Saudi Arabia—look at the confusion all over the world.  The people want to know  “Where Is God?”—while all these evil things are being done?

God has given Satan power and time to do his evil; God absented Himself to give Satan freedom to do his evil, as the scripture teaches in Surah 2, verse 36:  “… Go forth, some of you are the enemies of others. 

And there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time.”  So now, Satan has deceived the whole world:  The world is in confusion, utter confusion.  America is in confusion, utter confusion.  The government of America is in confusion; utter confusion. 

The Earth, now, is boiling, and is headed for hell and complete destruction—unless Allah (God) intervenes and stops our fall into hell by manifesting Satan, his deceit and his treachery.  The Lie and The Liar are now being exposed.

‘Universal Snooper’ fears exposure of his ‘Greatest Deceptions’

Satan is a “universal snooper.”  Satan has to snoop.  He has to look.  He knew this day was coming, but while the time was not yet, he was raising total hell; because he knew it was not time yet for The Truth to be told.  But the moment he comes into the knowledge that this is The Time of his doom, he has to do something about that.

When The Deliverer was to come in the days of Moses, Pharaoh hatched a conspiracy and killed the male children because he knew The Deliverer would be among The Oppressed—and he’s going to be a man.  When The Deliverer was to come in the days of Jesus, Herod said: 

“Kill the boy babies.”  Now, we are at the end:  The time that Jesus The Prophet prophesied of in “The Coming of Jesus The Messiah”—Who would come in his name into the world after The Workings of Satan; and Jesus The Messiah would begin to expose Satan.

“The Greatest Deception” along with The Deception of “The Reality of God” is The Deception of “Jesus”.  Because Jesus is The One that comes into the world and exposes Satan, then, in “the language of Christianity,” Jesus “goes to heaven with God” and becomes

“The Christ” anointed with Power to Crush The Wicked—so Satan has to keep us away from “Jesus” and from “The Christ”; And in “the Islamic language,” Satan has to keep us away from “The Presence of The Mahdi” in the world and “The Messiah” that is with The Mahdi. 

So if you fear somebody coming to tell The Truth, you have to set “watchers” wherever you think The Truth is going to come from, to keep you “informed” of anything or anyone that will disturb or expose your deceit.

But, since this Truth may be coming from anywhere today—but particularly in the West, in the United States of America:  He had to put “watchers” among us.  If you remember the Counterintelligence Program [COINTELPRO] of the United States Government: 

They feared that a “Messiah” would rise among Black people who would unite the nationalist element among us, and unite us as a people; and destroy their power to continue their wicked rule and oppression of us.

What does it mean “to snoop”?  “To prowl or pry; to go about in a sneaking, prying way; to investigate and look around furtively in an attempt to find out something, especially information about someone’s private affairs.”

In another of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s monumental books, “Our Saviour Has Arrived,” in Chapter 7 “Time Has Arrived That Allah Will Fulfill His Promise” on page 19 he writes:  “The devils are universal snoopers.

They pretend to be interested in your spiritual meetings, but [they come] only to listen to what you are saying among yourselves …”—they listen to the pastor; they listen to the people.  They want to see how awakened your pastor is becoming; and then they make moves to destroy his church. 

And that’s why there are thousands of churches today in America under “foreclosure.”  You may see him “listening in” on our meetings—and we are so “happy” to have them come among us; but, they come only to keep us from accepting The Truth, Submission to The Will of God. 

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad continues: “I am for the separation of my people from their enemies; that they share not in their enemies’ destruction, even though I may lose my own life in this daring attempt to save [my people with] the plain, simple Truth of God and Power.” 

And in Chapter 12 “Allah, God, The Supreme Being,” on page 60, he speaks about The Caucasians, writing:  “They are the only people on our planet whose time is limited.  We can clearly see today why Allah limited their time.”

The National Security Agency (“NSA”) is a “universal snooping institution.”  Why, they are even trying to listen in on that “Exalted Assembly,”  But, they find only “a flame.”  What is the meaning of “universal”?  “Applicable everywhere or in all cases; present everywhere.” 

In Surah 7, verses 26-27 it says:  “O children of Adam, We have indeed sent down to you clothing to cover your shame, and (clothing) for beauty; and clothing that guards against evil—that is the best. This is of the messages of Allah that they may be mindful.

O children of Adam, let not the devil seduce you, as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them their clothing that he might show them their shame. [For] He surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you see them not. Surely We have made the devils to be the friends of those who [disbelieve].”

Satan, a “Universal Snooper:”  Why does he need to know everything that everyone is saying and doing?  So that he can use it to silence us if we come into the knowledge of Truth, or to “blackmail” us—or “whitemail” us, either one—into submission to his will. 

He listens to your foolishness on Facebook and Twitter; and he sees your dislike of each other.  And whenever he gets ready to use you against each other, he just pulls up what you’re saying, and begins to manipulate your division, and “enhance” it.

Members of Congress:  Once you get too close to The Truth, he will show you what he has on you.  He has to know about you so that he can, from our weaknesses, take us away from The Truth and bring us into the sphere of his influence. 

So the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and the NSA are searching all of us out; so if the devil “sees us from whence we see them not,” who is the Holy Qur’an talking about?  It’s talking to The Messenger; saying that he is watched by Satan.  And he’s talking to The Messenger’s followers … . 

You should know, Nation of Islam, that we are on “The Watch List.”  We should know that there’s nothing that we are saying on social media that has escaped his attention, nor in emails or on phone calls, or on Twitter. 

Look at the hatred that America is showing for Muslims:  Don’t you think he’s listening to all our conversations?  How do you start your conversation?  With “As-Salaam Alaikum”—and The Universal Snooper is quick to pick up on those specific words: 

“Ah!  That’s a code term.  Zero in on that conversation!” If you mention The Name “Allah,” that’s a code; and when that code comes up, he’s listening.

He’s spying on China, Japan; he’s spying on Germany, on Italy, on France, on Russia—he is spying everywhere.  So here comes Mr. Edward Snowden to reveal something that was so secret, that even the members of Congress who are members of a committee on “intelligence.”  They did not know that such a thing existed that was gathering information from all of the social media.

Well, the government of America is spying on leaders from all over the planet to know their weaknesses, to make America, really, dangerous if this Truth is made known. In a July 2013 article appearing in The Guardian (United Kingdom) newspaper, the headline read: 

“Obama Orders The U.S. to Draw [Up] Overseas Target Lists for Cyber-Attacks.”  There is a U.S. federal court known as “FISA Court” [established and authorized under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 ].

With different districts; and with now 11 justices under The Supreme Court Chief Justice, their job is to give warrants, or orders, for the government to conduct surveillance on anyone whom they target or select to watch closely.

Well I’m not “blind”:  I know they’re watching me, and listening to me.  But I also know they’re listening to you.  And although U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder had to give orders, they spied on him.  The very Supreme Court Chief Justice that sends down orders, John Roberts: 

He’s spied on.  The president is spied on; so he has no “personal life” or “national life” where somebody is not watching him and listening to his most private conversations to see if he’s “toeing the line” [not “straying beyond a rigidly-defined boundary”].

They watched President Barack Obama night and day; they are watching all the members of The Supreme Court, they are watching members of Congress; they know any deviation from morality that any top person in government or out of government is doing.  Why do they do this? 

So that they can force you, just when you think you’re getting on good, and you’re rising, you’ll get a message from them to “come in”; that they have “something to tell you about.”  And they’ll tell us about ourselves.

However, study the Holy Qur’an, Chapter 31, verse 16.  Luqman is talking to his son:  “O my son, [even] if it be the weight of a grain of mustard-seed, even though it be in a rock, or in the heaven or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. 

Surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware.”  Also, study the New International Version of the Bible, in the Book of Mark, Chapter 4, verse 22:  “For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.”  How will God do this? 

Here is a 29-year-old man, Mr. Snowden, a high-school dropout who is hiding like he’s a little “mustard seed” hidden in the rock in the Earth.  Well, he came forward; so small, so insignificant, yet:  He had the government of America in a “tizzy.” 

And This is how God makes manifest what is being done in the darkness:  He brings someone or something out of the dark to make it manifest; and though it be like a Leviathan, or a creature in the depth of the ocean, yet will God bring it up and make it manifest.

‘Blood on their hands’:  The FBI’s secret relationship with organized crime leaders

During my address at Saviours’ Day 2011, I mentioned The Enemy, The Synagogue of Satan:  When they get ready to get after you, they use two organizations:  The IRS [Internal Revenue Service] and the FBI [Federal Bureau of Investigation]. 

And it has been reported that when someone went to the White House and asked officials about “hate crimes,” the officials said, “Oh, we don’t look into that.  We have the ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

The ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center are agents of the government.  So when you hear the ADL speaking, you hear the Southern Poverty Law Center speaking … . 

And when you hear that now we, the Nation of Islam, are being brought before courts—many of us are being asked to come before a “Grand Jury” (a Grand Jury that’s been sitting for more than 18 months)—the IRS is involved and the FBI is involved.  But let’s look at this “FBI” … .  There is blood on the hands of the FBI.

It is written in a book titled “Deal with the Devil: The FBI’s Secret Thirty-Year Relationship with a Mafia Killer” by Peter Lance that a man named Gregory Scarpa Sr. carried out more than 26 hits while acting as a paid informant. 

A secret relationship between the FBI and a mafia capo [“leader”] that allowed Scarpa to walk away from at least 26 murders while under the Bureau’s protection has been exposed. 

Scarpa’s most bloody killing spree period (between 1980 and 1992, when the Mafioso ordered or carried out at least 26 killings) came when he was in the pay of the FBI, earning millions of dollars in today’s money as a “Top Echelon Criminal Informant.” 

Scarpa wasn’t just supplying intelligence; Mr. Lance writes he was “… acting with the apparent consent of top FBI officials to commit crimes and induce other members of the mafia to break the law.”

What about the trial of James “Whitey” Bulger?  According to a reporter:  At Whitey Bulger’s trial, during the testimony of Bulger’s former FBI handler John Morris who was confirming to the court that Bulger cooperated with the FBI as an informant, Bulger screamed out, “You’re a big [‘f-word’] liar!” 

Here is a man, Bulger, who received information from the FBI agents Morris and John J. Connolly (Morris’ subordinate) about investigations conducted by other law enforcement agencies into his criminal activities—and these FBI agents tipped him off about potential informants in his organization, and Bulger killed every one that the FBI told him about.

This is the same FBI that is snooping around in mosques; listening to the conversation of Muslims who may not like Jews, who may be angry with Israel, and want to harm Jews because of something that the Israeli government has done. 

So the FBI approaches them, and sets up a plot with them—and then exposes the plot.  This is “entrapment” to show that “Muslims are planning evil against America.”  These are the enemies that are among us all.

Now look, FBI:  You are allowing people to kill, and you kill?  My sister, Assata Shakur killed no one.  She has been down in Cuba for nearly 30 years, bothering no one, yet you would call her a “domestic terrorist”? 

What about “The Son of Sam”—David Berkowitz?  [For over a year, beginning in the summer of 1976, Berkowitz shot, killed and wounded several people, and eluded a massive police manhunt.]  Weren’t the people terrorized when he was killing?  You never called him a “terrorist.”

You have serial killers; you have people that escape from prison using helicopters, and killing people as they exit prison:  Not one of them have you called a “domestic terrorist.” 

You hold this against my sister, because race is at the root of your evil against her, as well as your evil against Larry Hoover, your evil against The Cuban Five, your evil against The Nation of Islam—your evil against Black people that has been going on for 450 years.  And now, your time has come.

‘Go back to your ‘first love’: A Warning for ‘The Nicolaitans’ of our time

To The Muslims, I warn you, in The Name of Allah, from 2 Peter, the 2nd Chapter, the 1st verse:  “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among [us], who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” 

And in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 2, verses 6 and 15, there is mention of a group of people whom God “hated” their deeds and their doctrine, called “Nicolaitans.”  Study this chapter in the Book of Revelation.  These “Nicolaitans” are heretics.

What is a “heretic”?   A heretic is “one who teaches against the original moral teachings of the prophets.”  Well, God is saying to the mosque and to the Believers, “you see the wickedness that’s going on:” 

We saw when The Supreme Court knocked down the Defense of Marriage Act, and ok’d that it’s “all right” for same-sex marriage.  The church has agreed with this ruling, many of them;

government has agreed—and even our president, during his June 2013 trip to Africa, has gone to Africa saying that “We, too, should agree with same-sex marriage.”  This is “heresy:”  This is that which has entered the church, entered the mosque, and entered the synagogue.

And while we dislike the practices of “the Nicolaitans,” or the false teachers, and verses 4-5 of this chapter in Revelation teaches that we have found favor with God by disliking their practices; yet, we must repent for our backsliding—and go back to our “first love:” 

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.  Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” 

And what is the “first love” that we had?  To the Jews it is Moses; to the Christians it is Jesus; to the Muslims it is Prophet Muhammad; and to The Nation of Islam, it is both Prophet Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.  This is our “first love!”

So when you go back to your “first love,” the scripture, in the Book of Revelation, teaches you’re going back to “the Alpha and the Omega.”  (Study Rev. 1:7-13, Rev. 21:3-7 and Rev. 22:1-14.)  How is He “Alpha” and “Omega”?  He is ending The World of Evil, and He is opening The Door to The Paradise of God.

Brothers and sisters:  We have to clean up our act; we have to clean up from listening to the Inner Satan and the Outer Satan as well, for the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, “The Hereafter for my followers is now.”  Heaven does not start after you are dead.  It starts when you come to life in The Spirit and Knowledge of “God,” “Self” and “The Time.”

So we can say, in conclusion that “The Lie” is exposed, and so is “The Liar:” so let us feed on The Truth, and stop our lying, and become The Righteous again.

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

First, I am eternally grateful to Allah (God) for your presence this afternoon, for all of the many distinguished brothers and sisters, spiritual teachers, Imams, Muslims, Christians and Hebrews.

I’m honored by the presence of the family of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and by the presence of each one who took time to come out today to hear what we have to say.

I’m stunned by the words of our beloved sheik, and I can only say that all of us who come to this life are gifted by our creator with gifts and talents and skills. Our duty is to use our gifts and talents for the glory of Allah, our God.

Some of us use our talents for vain purposes, and for those vain purposes God will still make us successful, but in our vanities we truly die. But those who use their gifts and skills and talents for the glory of the eternal Creator, these are they for whom death cannot come.

Allah (God) says in the Holy Qur’an, Muhammad is but a Messenger. Indeed, Messengers have passed away before him. If Muhammad dies or is killed, would you turn back on your heels?

So here the Prophet of Allah passes from this earth and many did not wish to believe that he had passed and Umar was ready to kill anyone who said that the Prophet had passed.

But Abu Bakr went to the Mosque and quoted those words that I just quoted from the Qur’an. The words of the Qur’an calmed Umar and calmed the followers.

No human being, no community that serves Allah (God) is happy when the one who taught them of God, gave them the example of the life that Allah (God) would have us to live, when that person leaves there is tremendous sadness.

We never wanted to see Muhammad leave, but Allah (God) says Muhammad is but a messenger and we are not to worship human beings no matter if they carry the sacred word of Allah, and live in front of us as a perfect example, they are not worthy to be worshipped.

Only Allah (God), the Supreme, the Eternal, The One, the Mighty, the Wise; but then Allah (God) says, “Think not of those who are slain or who die in the way of Allah (God) as dead. They are alive but you perceive not.”

So the Prophet has passed but he’s not dead. Abraham has passed but he’s not dead. Death only comes to those who live vain lives and set up with Allah (God) partners, death comes to them; but those who pass from this earth in the way of Allah (God) are not dead and we should not speak of them as though they are dead.

How do you know that Muhammad is alive? Because a billion and a half people everyday are coming to say prayer. How do we know that Jesus is not dead; that Moses is not dead; that Abraham is not dead?

The Prophets are not dead because they left this life in the way of God, and if the way of God lives they who serve him and walk in his way live also.

Now, I wanted to say to the sheik and those who speak such great words of Brother Farrakhan, you know they gave me a lot of titles this past weekend and at my table the other night, I said, “You cannot give me a title. Allah (God) is He who assigns to all of us who we are.”

So you can’t make me. Only Allah (God) can make me. I said “Now, you may call me sheik. You may call me imam and all these great names, fine, but the best title is Muslim.” A man may be a sheik and not a good Muslim.

A man may be an imam and not be a good Muslim.  A man may be a king, a ruler, a potentate and not be a good person, but a Muslim, is one who has surrendered his will completely to do the will of God, and that is the greatest title and that is the one that God has given to every human being.

I appreciate the kind words and they really are wonderful, but, you know, I’m striving. I just want to be a good Muslim, and if I strive to be a good Muslim, then all the other titles are fine. And what is a good Muslim?

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “You are not a Muslim; you are not a believer until you love for your brother, what you love for yourself.” If envy and jealousy and greed and lust and these things have contaminated the heart.

Then we have to strive to clean up so we can be good Muslims, good righteous people. Well, there are Christians in the audience. There are Hebrews in the audience. They may feel offended if you say I want to be a good Muslim, that all human beings are made Muslim.

Well, now, let’s look at that. Christian is a name.  Jew is a name.  They have good meaning all right enough, but they are names given after a revealed word came down. 

In fact, in the Bible, it says, the followers of Jesus didn’t become known as Christians until at Antioch, where the enemies of Jesus began to call them Christians and the name stuck because they believed that Jesus was in fact, the Christ.

The name Jew came after the revelation of the Torah. So if the name Jew came after the revelation of the Torah and the name Christian came after the revelation of the Gospel, yet both Jesus and Moses claim Abraham as the father. What was Abraham?

Allah (God) says in the Qur’an that Abraham was not a Jew nor was he a Christian.  Now, don’t get angry, please. Don’t get angry. This is a classroom. Look, Allah (God) says in the Qur’an, “O people of the book,” that’s those who call themselves Jews and Christians, you are the people of the book and the book here is the Bible. 

“O people of the book, why do you dispute about Abraham when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him”? Do you not understand? Behold you are they who disputed about that knowledge.

Why then do you dispute about that which you have no knowledge and Allah (God) knows while you know not. Abraham was not a Jew, nor a Christian but he was an upright man, a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists.” Now, let’s look at that.

Wait a minute. We didn’t have Muslims on the earth until Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought Islam, and so Islam is the youngest of the three religions. Wrong. If Abraham is the father and he was not a Christian, he was not a Jew, what is a Muslim?

If he was an upright man and a Muslim, what is a Muslim? A Muslim is one who declares that he or she will bow down and submit their will entirely to do the will of God, the Creator.

Now, I said, all of us have that name, didn’t I.  Allah (God) says in the Qur’an that He created the human being in the nature of Islam. He created us to surrender totally and completely to God, and Allah (God) says, all submit except a rebellious devil.

Now, when we start rebelling against obedience to God, we become a devil. I’m going to say that again. There are a whole lot of devils everywhere, in the mosque, in the synagogue, in the church, in government, in school—a whole lot of devils.

It’s not what you claim, it’s what you do. I’ll say that again. It’s not what you claim you are, it’s what you do. Now look, I can say I believe in Jesus and I do. I can say I believe in Moses; I believe in Abraham; I believe in Muhammad (PBUH).

I do. That’s fine. You get credit for belief, but Islam is not belief. Islam is carrying into practice what you believe and if you do not practice your belief, you are not what you say you are.

Now, how many practicing followers of Jesus are there? How many practicing followers of Moses are there and how many practicing followers of Prophet Muhammad are there, peace be upon him? Well, I practice. I say my five daily prayers. That’s good. That’s a start but that’s not it. I fast during the month of Ramadan.

That’s good. I pay zakat. Oh, that’s wonderful. You haven’t reached it yet though. You’re on the road. No. We are not practicing until we surrender completely to carry out the will of God. Well, what is His will? His will is not just prayer. His will is not just fasting. Those are disciplines that get you ready to do His will.

Now, if you go to the mosque and stay in there all day praying, that’s not being a good Muslim. You can stay in church all day long praying. Prayer answers things. If you don’t get up and start doing something about your prayers, you won’t get any answers to your prayers.

So the call to Muslims, Christians and Jews is that we don’t talk about the Torah, talk about the Gospel, talk about the Qur’an; that’s easy to do. But what Allah (God) demands of us today is that we observe the Torah, observe the Gospel and observe the Qur’an, and to observe it means to follow Jesus, follow Moses and to follow Muhammad (PBUH). 

And if we don’t follow him and them—by follow I mean carry into practice exactly what they did when they lived among us—if we’re not doing that, we are not followers of the Prophet (PBUH).

We know his name, his book, but if we are not carrying into practice the will of God, then we are hypocrites in our profession of faith. Now, if what I’m saying stings a little bit, I don’t want you to be upset, because the intention is not to hurt, but to help us to see that we all must make a commitment to know the will of God, and then to do His will. 

And if all of us in this room just started doing what we know of the will of God and then increasing our knowledge of His will everyday, because the more you know, the more you’re responsible.

And those of us who are in leadership over God’s people are the most responsible to be examples for Him Whom we are telling the people about; and, most importantly, the sheiks, the imams, the pastors, most of them and the rabbis, are the ones who are misleading the people of God.

As I said last Sunday, the condition of the three communities: the Christians, the Muslims and the Jews, bear witness against our scholarship and our leadership, something has happened. We need to know what happened.

Have you noticed that when the prophets of God are among the people, their community is one? The moment the prophet leaves, the community becomes fragmented, divided. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was here, there was no Sunni, Shiite, Sufi, Hanbali, Hanafi, all these different schools of thought and sects.

It was only one. What is the Prophet (PBUH)? I am a Muslim. That’s what the Prophet (PBUH) was. What was Abraham? He was a Muslim. What are you? See, we say I’m Baptist. Well, what was Jesus? Was he Baptist? Come on. Was he a Methodist? Was he Episcopalian? Was he a member of the Church of God in Christ?

Tell me, what was Jesus? Then whatever Jesus was, you should be if you follow him. Prophet Muhammad would be displeased to see the division in his house. Jesus would be totally upset to see the division in his house, and the prophets that came to the children of Israel would all be totally upset to see the division in the house.

How did these divisions come? What precipitated these divisions that within the House of Islam we are fighting each other? Within the House of Christianity, we are fighting each other. Within the House of Judaism, we are fighting each other. Yet, we claim one father, Abraham.

Now, the father is all right. Ishmael and Isaac had different upbringing, different circumstances, I should say. A similar upbringing but different circumstances but they didn’t fight each other so God’s covenant was with both Isaac and Ishmael.

But now the people who say they are Muslims say well, we are from Ishmael. The people that are Jews, they say they’re from Isaac. So what difference does it make? If you’re from Ishmael or Isaac, if you are not like Abraham, you are not of Ishmael or Isaac. Let’s talk about it.

So Jews and Muslims are killing each other and hate each other and Christians and Muslims and Jews hate each other, have slaughtered each other and yet claim one father and one God.

Something is wrong, isn’t it? Allah (God) says in the Qur’an, listen to these words, “And they did not become divided until after revelation came to them splitting up their religion into sects and parties, each one rejoicing in their part”—not the whole, but their part.

We are wrong to make distinctions among God’s servants. Even though Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the seal of the prophets, we are not to say that Muhammad is better than Jesus or better than Moses.

His revelation was higher, but to lift one up to put some others down is not what Allah wants because all those prophets represent one God and one community and one basic principle—set up no partner with Allah (God) and bow down and obey God’s will.

One of the lessons that life teaches and one of the lessons that I have learned in my young days on this earth is that Allah (God) hates ingratitude. One cannot be grateful to Allah (God), whom we have not seen, and be ungrateful to those who Allah (God) has sent our way to make us who and what we are.

None of us in this room is privileged to use the independent pronoun “I.” For I, of myself, like Jesus said, can do nothing. I am not anything of, or by, myself. Whatever I am, a community of people helped to make me who and what I am.

So the soft pronoun “we” is better because when I stand, I don’t represent myself. I represent a beautiful mother who nurtured me. I represent a father whom I never knew. I represent teachers and persons who took an interest in me and gave me good words of encouragement.

I am who I am today because of a great community of persons who are gone on, many of them, but I remain as their representative. To come back home to St. Cyprian’s is a stopping off point to say how grateful I am that St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church nurtured me into the human being that Allah (God) is blessing me to become.

St. Cyprian’s was more than just a church. It was indeed an extended family. I never knew my father, but every male member of the church was like a father to me; every female member of the church was another mother for me.

As I grew in this church, I was always encouraged by the membership of the church to be the best that I could be. You did not know what you were putting inside of me. You did not know, nor did I, what Allah (God) would have me to do with my life.

But I say to each and every one of you, blessed is the human being who discovers his or her purpose for living. When you live and don’t know why you are alive, when you live and don’t know why Allah (God) put you here, that is not the best way to spend your time or your life.

Elijah Muhammad taught me that what one loves to do and what one does best is more than likely what one is born to do. When you do what you are born to do, it is never work, it is a labor of love, that as you give it, you also receive from it.

That’s why people say to me, “Gene,” they call me Gene because everybody knows me from way back, “you look so well, you don’t seem to have aged so much.”

It is true that when you hold things in your bosom that you should give up, when you, through the experience of life, become embittered rather than emboldened, when the heart becomes possessed of bad emotions, these are the things that age the human being.

But when we try to live in harmony with Allah (God) and to live in harmony with nature’s laws and you find your purpose in life and live your purpose, then every day that you live, you give, but in your giving, you receive and your soul is always watered by what you do.

In coming here tonight, my soul is already watered to be in the company of so many that nurtured me in my youth. When I was a little boy of three, I joined St. Cyprian’s.

In those early days, it was a group of sincere, hardworking persons from the Caribbean who felt a sense of rejection in American society, even among our own Black brothers and sisters. In St. Cyprian’s, you could hear the various accents of all of the islands. And it was those accents that nurtured my life.

I heard the various accents and my mother thought I was sleeping, but I was always listening to the older people when they talked. As Father (Henderson) Brome said earlier of the pain of these early pioneers who were rejected by White Episcopalians and had to find refuge among their own, I would hear these things.

And these things watered what Allah (God) had already put within me. And when I was in Sunday school, I would raise questions that were not normal for children my age.

But I wanted to know if Allah (God) loved us and He could send Moses to deliver the children of Israel and send Daniel and send David and send others to deliver suffering people, was there somebody that would come along that had us in mind, that felt our pain and our suffering, and would stand up for us?

I did not know that that spirit was growing in me to stand for our people. I didn’t know the pain that it would take to stand up for us, when we don’t have courage to stand up for ourselves.

I didn’t know what it would take to go up against the powers that be and watch your own people shrink in fear, worrying over some little position that you think you have, that you have never had, because whatever you have that somebody can frighten you to take away from you, you don’t have it at all.

I determined from my West Indian mother that I was going to be a man and that I was going to stand up for Black people in the midst of oppression.  If it costs my life, it did not make any difference to me.

And even though in some quarters I am evil spoken of and some may have been affected by what others say about me, all you have to do when you go to church tomorrow is think about Jesus. Think about him walking in Roman society.

Think about the things that they said about a good man who opened the eyes of the blind and made the deaf hear and the dumb speak and raised the dead to life.  But every miracle that he did, they said he did it by means of the devil. Think about that.

You didn’t walk with Jesus. But if you were living 2,000 years ago, if you didn’t meet Peter, if you didn’t meet James or John or Luke or Matthew, from whom would you hear about Jesus?

If you heard about him in the daily news from the Roman authorities, what did they say about him? If you heard about him from the religious leaders of his day, what did they say about him?

I know Jesus from another angle because I try to walk in his shoes. And when you walk in the shoes of the Master, He said, “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake.”

Then He said, “Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for so did they the prophets that were before you and great is your reward in heaven.” (Matthew 5:11)

I don’t live for the honor of men. I live for the honor of Allah (God). And living for God’s honor and living for His service and to serve the cause of justice has caused me to be loved in many quarters all over the world, but hated by those who are the oppressors of our people.

I would rather be hated by the oppressor and loved by Allah (God) than to be loved by the oppressor and hated by Allah (God) for selling out the people and the principles of justice and freedom and truth for a few crumbs from the master’s table.

Fulfilling Prophecy

I didn’t leave the church because I disliked the principles of this great teaching. I left the church because the church was not relevant to the struggle of Black people for justice.

I want to see a relevant church, a church that lifts people from where they are and stands up for the people, like Jesus stood for the weak and the poor and the oppressed of the society. The church must not walk by the drug addict.

The drug addict needs a home in St. Cyprian’s. The prostitute needs a home in St. Cyprian’s. It’s not just those who seem to have the strength, but it’s the weak ones that need the church and the family of the church. Please don’t walk by them, because some of them are the best that you would know if you could just wash the mud off of them.

Did you know that we are fulfilling prophecy by our sojourn in the Western Hemisphere? Did you know that it was by Divine mandate that we were taken out of Africa on a westerly course and dropped, as my Masonic brothers would say, in the North Country, buried in a shallow grave, with a little sprig of cassia to mark the grave.

You are not really dead as such—you’ve just been hit in the head and don’t remember who you are and your greatness in the world.  If you don’t know what was, how do you know what is, and how can you prepare for what is to come?

When our fathers were brought into the Western Hemisphere, it was by design that we would no longer be connected to our original culture, language, God or religion. We grow up now with the names of foreigners.

These names that we glorify today are not ours. They are the names of our former slave masters.  And just like you brand a horse or brand a cow, you name your slave after you. These are the invisible chains that bind us to our former slave masters and their children.

Right from the Caribbean they broke us and they brought those that were broken here to America. These were the most broken, the Blacks in America. But when you came from the Caribbean, you brought something to Black America that we never had.

You saw Blacks in the Caribbean in positions of authority that we never saw in the United States of America. When you got here, you always aspired to higher things.  And you would achieve what you aspired to and you would inspire Black Americans to want to do better. You did a great job.

Marcus Garvey did a great service to us in this country. So many from the Caribbean have awakened us. But now, in the time that we are to come into rulership, those that know this are determined that that should not happen.

Twenty years ago, there was a study on Black population that said if our birthrate continued as it was 20 years ago, by the year 2056 we would be equal to or the majority population in America. When those figures came out, somebody went to work.

And now in every city in America, the funeral parlors are filled. And guess who they are filled with? Grandma—not you. Grandpa—not you. It’s filled with your children, your grandchildren, babies from 18-40 years old. 

And the number one killer is AIDS; the number two killer is gunshot wounds. Those of us who came through the ravages of slavery never committed suicide, but suicide is the third biggest killer among young Black people today.

We can’t see these statistics and be blind. Crack cocaine, that’s chemical warfare. AIDS, that’s biological warfare. These are weapons of mass destruction that are being used on us.

That’s why religion has to be preached with great fervor and not rituals, because rituals contain the truth, but the ritual, in and of itself, is not the truth. If we just become ritualistic, then religion loses its meaning and you just go to church because it’s a place to go, something to do, but it has no more effect on your life.

Religion should be a transforming experience.

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

Thank you, thank you.  I love you, with all my heart.  I thank Allah (God) so much for allowing me the privilege to be a follower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and to love him, and The God he represents, above all of creation; and to offer him my life, and every aspect of my being.  And this is why he sat me in his seat; because he knew that I loved him, he knew that I loved The God Who raised him. 

He knew that I loved you, the people of Allah’s choice—and he also knew that I would give my life to see the freedom of our people and the relief of humanity from the grip of Satan.  I greet you all with the greeting words of peace: As-Salaam Alaikum.

First, to Brother Minister Ishmael Muhammad and to the co-host of the plenary session, Jaleela Muhammad, and to all of you who spoke so eloquently, so beautifully, so inspiring: To me, as a young man …  Not that I’m “young,” but you have made me to feel so good; because when I saw you, when I listened to you, when I observed you, you lifted my spirit! 

And you made me to know that the sacrifices that those who have gone before you, that have made The Nation of Islam what it is: That you stand on their shoulders.  And because of what I heard today, as I said in the subject matter (for Saviours’ Day 2017): “There is No Fear for The Future!  The Future is Ours!”

Beloved, the devil wants you.  He needs you to give him hope that he has more time.  But from what I saw and heard today?  He can take that hope off the table!  I am so proud of all that spoke.  I am so proud of the grip that you have on the word, and I am so proud of the grip that the word has on you!  I am honored to be your brother, and I am honored to be one who is The Chief Helper of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, who was given by Master Fard Muhammad the hardest job ever given to any man that ever lived! 

‘I was born, made, for the task of sharing in my Teacher’s burden’

One day, when I was the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s minister in New York, he sent for me (to come to Chicago); and when I got to 4847 S. Woodlawn Avenue, he said: “Brother, my head pains me at night; I feel sometimes like I’m going to have a stroke.  I called you here to give you some of my burden.” 

I didn’t know what he meant.  So, I was waiting, after coffee, for him to lay out, you know, the “burden” that he wanted to give me; and after a few more minutes, he said: “Well, thank you very much for coming, brother.  You may return to New York City.”  Sometimes, when a wise man is talking to you with wisdom, you don’t always understand it at first; so I went back to New York, a little perplexed. 

But in reading the Holy Qur’an, in Surah 20, “Ta Ha,” God is talking to His servant Moses, and Moses is praying to his God for a “helper”; and in his prayer, Moses said these words: “O Allah!  Loosen the knot in my tongue, that they may understand my word.  And make him to share my task; strengthen me by his hand.” 

Well, 44 years later, the task that he gave me is you, is a nation of 50,000,000, and a world of 4,400,000,000.  “Is that part of your task?”  Yes.  “What must you do to bring the world to the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad?”  One day, he was telling me of my value to him, and he started with “a mound of gold and diamonds.”  Well, that’s pretty valuable. 

The next time, he told me: “You are more valuable to me than a thousand airplanes, and a thousand sheep on every plane.”  I said, “Wow, that’s big!”  But on the third time, he said: “You are more valuable to me than all the wealth that is in the earth.  I met that wealth when I came here and I will leave it when I am gone, but through you I will get all of my people.”

I want you to think about that.  One man—you’re looking at him—born of a woman, grew up in hell; longing for him; loving God; coming to The Nation.  And when I heard the word, the first time I heard it, I was critical of his command of English. 

Saviour’s Day, February 1955, his subject was “A Saviour is Born for The Black Man and Woman of America”: I was in the balcony at 5335 S. Greenwood Avenue, and the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad said: “Brother, I did not get that mighty fine education that you got; when I got to the school door, it was closing.  So I don’t want you to pay no attention to how I’m sayin’ it, you pay attention to what I’m sayin’, and then you take it, and put it in that fine language that you know.  Only try to understand what I am saying.”

I became a follower, like you; I was just 22 years of age.  And my first day in the F.O.I., when I had a chance to speak I broke down as I was talking, and I told my brothers in the F.O.I. (it was about 60 of them at that time): “I’m going to take the word of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad to every nook and cranny in the United States of America!” 

Now, I just woke up!  But I gave my word.  Brothers and sisters, you all spoke so well today, but it does not mean that you are what you said until and unless you have been tried by your word!  I don’t sit before you like a man that has not been tried, and I don’t sit before you as a man not willing to be tried again.

The Messiah is in your midst

I ask myself over and over again: “Why, Dear Apostle, did you say that I am more valuable to you than all the wealth that is in the Earth?”  “Why, Dear Apostle, did you say, ‘Take that Crescent out of your Flag; it stands for “equality,” and you have no equal!’” Now listen to me, I’m not bragging, I’m not boasting; I’m telling you what God said—the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad has already become the mouth of God! 

In 1958, as a new minister of his, I had his picture plastered all over the city of Boston because he was coming to speak (“Muhammad Comes to Boston!”).  At the table, he looked at me and he said, “Brother, everywhere I looked I saw myself!  Brother, one day they’re gonna do the same thing for you.”

How far-seeing was Elijah Muhammad, to tell me when I was first in his presence, as he shook my hand: “You remind me of David”?  I didn’t know what he was talking about.  I went home and studied David.  David is the prototype of The Messiah!

“The Messiah”: The whole world has been looking for The Messiah…  And I was looking for him, too!  No, I mean, I’m just being truthful to you; I didn’t know who he was.  I’m looking, too.  And then The Messenger, one day, he looked at me…  I mean, he is such a great teacher, so wise: He knew all about me before I knew anything about myself, and he gently led me, lovingly led me (“Come this way.  Come!  Come on…”)—and when I ended up conscious of where he had led me to, I was at The Cross.

How did Jesus bring the world to his father?  He gave his life on a cross of suffering, when his people had turned away from him, when his people chose a thief, Barabbas, rather than the man who had done so many wonderful miracles among them!  He gave his life.  And when he looked at his betrayers, who said they loved him, and one-by-one they all walked away. 

Even Peter, his chief disciple, when he was asked, “Aren’t you that man?  I saw you with that man!” (“Uh, no, I… I don’t know that man!!”)…  It’s something to be a hypocrite; it’s something to say from your mouth what is not in your heart!!  Because if you say it from your mouth, and it is in your heart, every day of your life you’ll be proving your word!

“Damn!  I mean, Farrakhan, your voice is very strong today!”  You inspired me.  Because it is you that I live for, and it is you that I will die for.  When I say to you “I love you,” don’t say to me “I love you more”—you don’t have it in you to love me “more” than God has made me to love you!

‘We will be tried by our words’: Young Muslims, study The Examples before you toknow meaning of true love, sacrifice

To the youth of The Nation of Islam:  I wanted to come out and see you.  I could have been in the suite, like I was at the Laborers’ meeting, talking from a nice room.  But not to you: I wanted to come out, because when I look at you, I see why my suffering has been worth it. 

This has not been an easy road for me, because I am in the footsteps of the man we all love, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.  But if you don’t love deep enough to want to see your people free; if you don’t love deep enough to clean your life up to make your life a recipient of His Mind and Spirit, then you need to learn what “love” is. 

Our Father, Elijah Muhammad, showed us the meaning of love.  He lived it every day that he was among us; through prison time, being chased by hypocrites, because he began to teach them Who that Man was that taught him.  They called Him “Prophet Fard.” 

Elijah knew that we were being visited by God…  You know how when you know something, and you can’t “sit on it,” you want to tell somebody?  The Messenger of God was out there trying to “sneak it in” on the people “Who” this Man is.  “Who is this Man?”  And The Saviour called him up, and said: “Brother, I don’t want you telling the people that about Me.  Wait.  Wait until I am gone.  And when I’m gone, you can begin to tell the people Who I Am.”

Damn!  There is so much in his life to think about.  He’s so obedient to Master Fard Muhammad.  And I can tell you the truth, I pride myself in obeying everything he asked me to do—except one thing.  What’s that “one thing”?  He said, “I want you to master eating one meal a day.  And when you have mastered that, then I want you to eat once every other day.  And when you have mastered that, I want you to eat once every three days, and I want you to stay there for the rest of your life.” 

(I haven’t done that yet.  I did the one meal a day; I did the one meal every other day…  I fasted three days, I fasted seven days, I fasted 10 days, I fasted 12 days, I fasted 40 days.)

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad wanted to make me a spiritual teacher, but he never took me aside.  But there was another One guiding me…  You didn’t hear me.  At a certain point in my development, listen to his words: “Brother, I did not make you.”  That was like stabbing me with a knife.  I don’t know nobody else!  I said, “Oh, yes you did!”  (I even raised my voice.)  And he said:

“No, I did not make you, brother.”  Pay attention to his next words: “I never took you aside to teach you nothing of the prophecies that The Saviour taught me.  I gave you the same thing I gave everybody else!”  And then he said, “Only Allah could have shown you how to place the Teachings like you do.  No, brother, I did not make you!  Allah made you for me.”

(I have to make this short, because I told them I’m going to behave myself today.  But to tell you the truth, it’s your fault (smile)!  It’s your fault, because you all brought all of this out of me by the way you were bearing witness to The Greatness of Master Fard Muhammad and The Honorable Elijah Muhammad!) 

Jesus said it like this: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  If you believe in me,” in words, “you will find eternal life.”  Our Father, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad: He knew that I would die for this Mission.  He understood it.  It took me time to understand it.  (Let me close.  That isn’t what I wanted to say to you; because He came to me in the night to tell me something for you.) 

Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to find your place in God’s kingdom.  You all were hitting it today!  And some of you hit it right on the head; you didn’t mess around with it.  But the sad thing is: We’re going to be tried by our words.  Satan’s seeing this, and he is angry, because your words say his end is nigh; because the next generation of Muslims is going to love The Law of God. 

And if God has allowed me to represent him after The Nation was gone, and lift his name back up again; and call for a million men (never been done before), and nearly two million came…  After witnessing that, did you know that the devils said: “Oh, there he is!  We’ve been looking for him, and Elijah Muhammad was making him all the time.”

When I say “making me” (I said it to the Laborers yesterday):  He told me he is going to “make all of my enemies bow down, and come at my feet, and then you will know that I have loved you!”  He is going to do something that proves himself, and me. 

“What are you gonna do, Dear Apostle?”  “I’m going to prove that my minister is a greater light to the world of man than Satan, his man, the whole of them!”  “Now stop a minute!  This is crazy talk, man!”  If it’s some individual who wants to be a “big shot,” then that’s a “nut”!  But when God says it, about what He wants to prove, He is working on the proof as we are sitting here!

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad: He has not made me afraid!  I don’t give a skip what power you think he has—I am taught and backed by The Lord of The Worlds and His Exalted Christ!  And another name for “Exalted Christ” is Al-Mahdi, “The Crusher of The Wicked.”

How To Win Against Satan: ‘Level up’ your conversations, energize your words using God’s Words

I close with this:  Satan wants you.  They say: “Farrakhan will soon be 90.  Hell, he won’t be around a year long!”  You better not say what you don’t know.  If I am blessed to go to The Wheel, there’s a whole new life for me there.  I’ve done what I was sent to do to earn my ticket! 

Here is what Master Fard Muhammad said to me to talk to you about…  Brothers and sisters, see, you are young, gifted and Black—but stupid, too, because you do great things and then destroy them by your love for aspects of the White man’s world.  Did you see Rihanna at the Super Bowl?  (Audience:  Yes Sir!)  I know.  (Smile)  “I, uh, I don’t look at no Rihanna!”  Shut up.  I damn sure was lookin’ at her!  “Well, what was you lookin’ for??”  I was looking to see.  That’s what you “look” for; to measure her growth, her development.  She had a baby, and she was pregnant that night.  She ain’t the same Rihanna. … … 

Now, this is what He wanted me to say to you (although He gave me all these nice words for you, too!); He said: The weight of the world is in the word that He revealed to the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.  Not the weight of this world, the weight of the new world coming in is in that word.  Look at this.  One day the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad told me: “Brother, when a person is sick and you go to their bedside, and you speak into their ears the word of God, within 8 minutes and 20 seconds you will see a change.” 

I was on death row one day, meeting with those who had been condemned either to life imprisonment or death, and I wanted to minister to them, and I met a big strong-looking man, like some of you who go to these workout sessions.  (I know I got a grandson that’s like that; and I mean, when you look at him, you say, “Boy, look at that!”) 

Some of you that are so physical: You like to look at physical displays of beauty that may cover a world of ugliness.  You have to set your eyes on higher goals than the bust size, the hip size of any female.  And you, as a female, have to look at more than somebody who is handsome.  Yes, this is “the rough side” of this mountain; the “rough side” of this mountain is outer beauty covering inner ugliness. 

The real you is not the you that you show up as, the real you is the one that you hide.  Some of you love social media, and you just can’t seem to get enough of attention in social media.  I love social media, too!  But the way I use it?  They have taken me off of every platform because they don’t like the way I use what they came up with. 

But if you are a follower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad through me: Why don’t you follow me?  Why is it so hard for you to make up your mind to clean yourself up from this nasty woman (or man), this dirty mind, and “Accept your own and be” who?  (Audience: “Your Self!”)  Hm, y’all said it right.  But between saying it right, and doing it right, there is a world.  You can mean well, but the road to hell is always paved with “good intentions.”  We want you to win.  We want you to be pleased with yourself.  And if you accept a freak life, you’re a very unhappy person sitting in here with me.

Why are you unhappy?  Why are you sad?  Why do you cry a lot?  Why do you wonder, “Where do I fit in this?” See, it’s because you don’t really know how to be you. 

The God, in one of these nights when I really couldn’t sleep well, He told me to talk to you about your level of conversation.  Ifyou’re a savage, it’s reflected in your conversation.  If you don’t like being around Muslims, who are trying to live the Teachings—and you’ve got your set of savages that you hang out with—then your talk on social media reflects who you are becoming.

Sisters in the M.G.T.:  Never show yourself to the world as you do sometimes.  You want a man.  I don’t blame you; glad you don’t want another woman.  But some of us have gone that way, too.  Your level of conversation helps you with the strength to win.  What do you talk about?  Worse, who are you talking about, and why?  See, if your conversations are negative; you don’t like this one, so you get on the phone, “Did you see what that so-and-so said?”; and you may use a few “nice words” to talk about your sister, or somebody.  That’s a sick level of expression.  See, our words… 

“Words”:  I spoke a lot of words, but the words that I spoke have a level of energy in that word!  And I can speak that word, and in eight minutes and 20 seconds, you’re up (“I want to hear more!”).  The electrical energy in the word of Allah is the highest energy of any word!  So if you don’t read His word, if you don’t converse about His words, then your conversations bring you down instead of bringing you up!  I want you to feed your minds better food. 

Now, the rappers are rapping, you like the beat, but on that beat is a dirty, nasty word; and when you listen to that, and dance to that, look at your motions.  I saw a deaf girl doing Rihanna’s word, and that girl was so into that word; every action that she took had meaning!  She studied Rihanna’s words, and then in delivering that word through the medium of sign language, she became the star of that night. 

If you transformed your speech pattern…  Just try it out!  A Man gave us a body of knowledge.  I don’t know what you read, I don’t know what you listen to, but I know if you took some time, take the word of Elijah Muhammad found in Message To The Blackman, feed that to your mind, and then get on the phone with your sister and discuss what you read, that conversation is so uplifting, you don’t even know where the time goes!  You’ll be up talking all night, and you’ve got to go to work the next morning—but you don’t even feel no way tired, because the energy of the word of God is what will keep you from Satan’s grasp.

You were talking about it (in your plenary session): You know what I am saying is what you’re not doing, but it’s what we should be doing.  Because if you want righteousness, you must feed the word of righteousness into your thought process, and it will translate to your actions. 

That is what He told me to tell you.  Did you get the message?  I love you!  (And no, no, no!  You can’t say “more”!) Be kind and loving to each other.  And the best way to live is with the word all in your head, governing your speech; governing how you talk, how you walk, how you live!  And then Satan says: “Those are some negroes that we won’t be able to trick.”  Don’t let him win.  He is a loser.

On March 12, 2000, Pope John Paul II apologized for the sins of the Catholic Church against the Native peoples and other religious beliefs. He apologized for the use of violence that some Christians have committed in the service of “truth.” The United States was settled by persons who claimed the love of Jesus Christ, yet, our fathers were sold, bought, transported, sold again, and bought again mostly by so-called Christians and Jews.

The great sin that has been committed against Black people, in particular, is the destruction of the Black male and the corruption of the Black female; the denial of our natural right to marriage and the raising of a family. This purposeful destruction of us can never be corrected by an apology, but, the apology, the acknowledgment and confession of sin, is the prerequisite step toward doing that which will repair the damage that has been done. The destruction of the Black family is a sin of huge proportion, therefore, the effort to rebuild this family must be aided by those who destroyed the family, and, the responsibility of helping must be accepted by the generations that have benefited from the institutional slavery and the destruction of our families.

We can never rebuild the family without starting where Allah (God) started in the beginning. He started by the creation or the making of man and woman.

Therefore, the Million Man March and the Million Woman March was our first step in the process of rebuilding the Black man and woman. However, unless we destroy the effect of White Supremacy, on our men and women, we will not be able to make man and woman again in the image or likeness of Allah (God). White Supremacy, and its resulting racism, has poisoned the systems of religion, education, justice, governance, and economics. Until there comes from Allah (God) that which is able to penetrate the heart and mind of the Black man and woman and destroy that mind produced by White Supremacy, we will never be able to build a family that properly reflects the values that Allah (God) desires manifested among us. There is no school of higher learning that can help us in this regard.

It will take the intervention of Allah (God) to enable us to escape the sphere of influence of the philosophy of White Supremacy and the racist institutions that have sprung from it.

In the Bible, the Apostle Paul admonishes the early Christians in these words: “Be not conformed to this world, but, be ye transformed by the renewing of your minds.”

All of us who are educated by our former slave masters and their children are trained in the educational system to conform to this world. We are trained theologically to conform to this world, and, those who find it difficult to conform are classified as social misfits who end up on drugs, in prison, or suffering untimely death, but, those who conform are the ones that society accepts and puts upon them a stamp of approval. How can there ever be a renewing of our minds except that something comes to our ears that does not come from the architects of this world. It is this that is feared most by the present rulers.

It is written in the scriptures, “Behold I make all things new. There will be a new heaven, a new earth and the former things shall pass away.”

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught us that this means a new spiritual and political reality that will replace the old spiritual and political reality. This does not necessarily mean that there will come to us a new book, but, it does mean a fresh new approach, understanding and interpretation of the Word of Allah (God) that will break us out of conformity to a world that is in opposition to Allah (God) by bringing to us that which will renew our minds and give us a new way of thinking that will result in a new way of behaving. It is this new understanding that must be applied to make a new man, a new woman, a new family.

Again, the scripture teaches, “My thoughts are not your thoughts. My ways are not your ways. I am from above while you are from beneath.”

This teaches us that our thoughts and our ways are far beneath what Allah (God) desires for us. Therefore, what we have produced as the man, the woman, and the family by our thoughts, and, our ways are far beneath the man, the woman and the family that Allah (God) desires for us.

So, in order for us to make a new family, we have to return to Him who created the man, the woman and the family and we must be willing to accept His Thoughts and His Ways.

What are Allah’s (God’s) Thoughts and His Ways?

In the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 55, Verses 8-9, it reads: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” These words being addressed to the people of Allah (God) manifest how far off the mark the people are from that which Allah (God) intended the human being to be.

In the Qur’an, Yusuf Ali translation, the 113th Surah, Verses 1-2 reads, “Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn, from the mischief of created things.” This teaches us that natural things created by Allah (God) are used by Satan to create mischief.

The male and the female are far beneath Allah’s (God’s) intentions for us. The institution of marriage and the resultant family are far beneath what Allah’s (God’s) intentions are for us. As hell is beneath heaven, and, Satan is beneath Allah (God), this being the world of Satan, these scriptures are teaching us that Satan has been and is the director of the lives of most human beings, and, has taken the natural order and creation of Allah (God) and has made mischief with Allah’s (God’s) creation. Therefore, we are far beneath the high thought and purpose of our creation; and our marriages, for the most part, represent hell. Therefore, our communities and nations universally have a hellish existence.

What are Allah’s (God’s) thoughts and ways for human beings, for the institution of marriage, and, for the development of family? His thoughts and His ways are found in the nature of what He created. Let us then look into the Bible and Qur’an to find Allah’s (God’s) purpose for the male and the female and His purpose for marriage, and His purpose for family.

In the Bible we are taught that Allah (God) made man and woman in His Image and after His Likeness. This tells us that both male and female are created by Allah (God) to manifest His Divine Characteristics in their pursuit of life and in their relationship with each other and in their relationship with other human beings. We are the exact opposite.

Allah (God) says in the Bible that He created the human being to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. In the Qur’an Allah (God) states that He created man to stand in His place. This means that He created the human being to rule the earth and even the heavens, but, to rule in the way that He set up His creation to be ruled. Our fall, by sin and the resultant spiritual death of the human being, causes us to be in a state so far from what our purpose is that both man and woman are nothing more than a caricature of themselves. The Bible teaches that Allah (God) gave the man instructions to multiply, replenish and subdue the earth. This teaches us that the human being by nature is to be productive. In the very nature of the human being is the potential to subdue the earth. This means that we have the potential to bring the earth completely under our power by mastering the laws under which the earth and all therein are created. Adam was told to “dress the garden.”

“Dress”: “To trim; ornament, or adorn. To prepare for use. To cultivate.”  This word “dress” implies that Allah (God) intended for man to adorn, beautify, prepare and cultivate the earth for his use. This tells us that we have to master the sciences that would allow us to dress the garden or cultivate the earth and prepare it in such a way that it would be a heaven for ourselves.

Education must teach us to master the sciences. If education does not prepare the human being to do what Allah (God) intended for us to do, then, it is not the proper education for us. This improper education is called training—training us to fit into a world order that is controlled and dominated by Satan, the enemy of Allah (God). The more the human being has grown into the knowledge of the sciences, the more we have been able to cultivate the earth, develop it, and mine out of it what is in it that it may serve our purpose. However, because of sin and our disconnection from the source of our existence, we have developed knowledge of the sciences for evil as well as for good, but, the evil of the human being now threatens the existence of the human family. The suffering of the human being—the poverty, ignorance, neglect and disease of the human family—bears witness that we are indeed a long, long way from what Allah (God) desires for us.

According to the Bible, Allah (God) did not desire the man to be alone. Therefore, He created from a single essence the man and the woman, but, He created the woman for the man. The word that is used in the Bible is help meet. The female, according to the Bible, is created by Allah (God) to help the man meet the obligation that Allah (God) has put within the nature of the male. The Qur’an teaches us that Allah (God) created the woman as the consoler of the man. This teaches us that in the very nature of the female is her ability, desire and will to console.

“Console”: “To alleviate or lessen the grief, sorrow, or disappointment of; give solace or comfort; cheer up.”  Allah (God) teaches us in the Qur’an that He created the woman that the man might find peace and quiet of mind in her.

The very nature of the female offers to the man that which enables the man to find that natural relief of the stress or the pain involved in the struggle of man to obey Allah’s (God’s) instructions.

The Qur’an teaches that Allah (God) created the male “a degree above” the female.

“Degree”: “A stage in a scale of rank or station.”  This teaches us that Allah (God) intended for the man to be in authority over the female. This is why He created him a degree above the female. Satan has created so much mischief with the nature of the male and the female that there is a prophecy in the Bible that says, “The younger shall rule the elder and the weaker shall rule the stronger … women shall rule over them.”

The Black female in today’s society literally is several degrees above the male. She is manifesting superiority in education and in the work force. Whereas the Black male for the most part is unemployed, most of our educated females are working and generally making more money than the male, and, in many instances is providing for the man that lives with her. So, we can say that Satan has reversed the roles that Allah (God) intended for the Black man and woman demonstrated in our relationship to each other.

Black male and female relationships are at an all time low. The Black female can hardly find her equal in the Black male to form a successful marriage and partnership. Therefore, the Black female may be more attracted to the White male and the male members of other races because of the inferior condition of the Black male.

The Black woman is completely frustrated and hurt by the lack of development in the Black male. We can reverse this trend only if the Black man can be reflective of the characteristics of Allah (God) by submitting to Allah (God) that He may guide the Black man to being himself. When the Black man is himself, reflecting the characteristics of Allah (God), the soul of the female will be satisfied, then, she can be as Allah (God) created her to be, man’s consoler; and, man will find peace and quiet of mind in her, for, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said to us, “The only heaven for man is found in the woman.”

In The Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

I am honored to be here this afternoon, and I greet all of you, my dear brothers and sisters; and especially those parents and grandparents who have lost their loved ones to gun violence, with the greeting words of peace. We say it in the Arabic language: As-Salaam Alaikum, which means Peace Be Unto You. This is a greeting that we should learn, and a greeting that we should practice. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, or Jewish, all of the Israelite prophets greeted their community with: “Shalom, Shalom,” which means peace.

When Jesus walked this earth among us, he never came to his disciples and said, “What’s happening?” or, “What up, Dawg?” He said, “Peace Be With You.” He didn’t speak English; he spoke Ancient Egyptian Arabic, Hebrew and Aramaic, so when Jesus greeted the people, he said, As-Salaam Alaikum, because he, in that greeting, crystallized a prayer. That from his lips and from his hands and from his life you should expect that which would bring peace into your lives.

The cause and effect of wicked policies

There is a saying that reads like this: “Children do what is natural until they learn what is normal.”

Any child that you see, whether it is Black, White, Asian, Hispanic or Native American; whether it is Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu or Buddhist, the child does what is natural, like learning to crawl, pull up on things that will help it to become erect and to walk—we didn’t teach it those things.

But then, the child learns to become normal. Normal means that you learn the norms, which are the folkways and the mores of the society or the culture in which you live. But then if we keep watching, we go further and further away from the natural; but yet, we are still considered normal.

Everybody is looking for somebody to straighten out a mess that was made, unfortunately, by those in authority. We cannot stem the violence that is here at the bottom, which is an effect, unless we look at the violence that begins at the top, which is the cause. We are the effect of a cause that we did not stem the tide of, and now it’s manifesting in the children.

Every mother; every grandmother that lost a child, we who are here today feel your pain. Although we are trying to be good and righteous people; we go to church; we pay our tithes; we do what good parents and good people should do, some of us lose faith in God when a misfortune comes into our house. While we can never bring back what we lost, we have to ask the question, “Why should this come into my life?”

There is a verse in the Holy Qur’an, which is the book of scripture of Muslims, that says, “No soul dies but by the permission of God.” God gives life, and He is the ultimate cause of death, so why did He permit this? If these children had not died, would we be here? Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me,” because he had some disciples who were disrespecting the value of children.

We live in a society where we are not looking out for the elderly or the young; and many of us who are pastoring, we pay no attention to children because they don’t tithe! So it is only when something affects children that it wakes us up to something terribly wrong!

Dear mothers: Your children did not die in vain, because nothing advances in civilization without the sacrifice of life. Let us refer to the example of the life of Jesus: He had a mother that nurtured him; he came from among a people and a group that evidently were not so good, because the scripture says, “Can any good come out of Nazareth?”

As it is with people today who think the same: “Can any good come out of the South Side or the West Side? Can any good come out of Chicago—the murder capital of the world?” Yes. Of course good did come, but that good died young.

Those in positions of power lied on Jesus, because they didn’t want to deal with his truth, so they brought him to court. The people hated Jesus, and the Book says they hated him without a cause. He was rejected of men. He knew what it was to suffer, and he knew what it was to be scourged. And ultimately, he died a violent death, so that others might have a right to the tree of life.

Beloved family; those dear mothers and fathers and grandmothers and grandfathers, and friends and relatives are in great pain because someone they loved died in their youth. Grandmothers had to bring their grandchildren to their final resting place. But remember: Your child, your friend and your companion did not die in vain. Every life with God is sacred! And those children that lost their lives are martyrs for the Cause of Justice and Peace!

The culture of violence starts at the top

We say we want sensible gun laws, but we are demanding it from government at the same time that our government has the highest military budget of any nation in the world; developing more and more weapons to kill more and more people! How can the violence stop on the bottom, when the violence is perpetrated by policies at the top?

It is painful to me to say these truths in the presence of the superintendent of police and in the presence of other government officials here today, because the truths that I speak, sometimes, are uncomfortable, but it is not done out of hate. I speak these truths because I love; and I want to see things better. Not just better for my people or for my children, but better for all children.

Are our children our assets, or are they liabilities? Do we have problem children? Or do our children have a problem? And if our children have a problem, they are not the cause—they are the effect.

Every mother in here that has brought forth a child, that child came through you, but not from you. Since it is God Who gives life, then He permits life to be formed in your womb. The Qur’an says that to God is the eventual return of all life. So we come in at some point, and at some point, we have to leave here. If the eventual return is to God, because it is from Him that we came, then every child is a gift from God. Not only to the mother and father, but a gift to that family! A gift to that community! A gift to that nation! A gift to the world!

Jesus said, “I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life.” Why do we, as parents, lie to our children? Violence begins with lies, because you’re violating the mind when you tell a lie. When Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free,” what is it that you would be set free from? It is freedom from the things that are the reason why we are assembled today.

In the Bible, Paul said, “We war not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers and the rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places.” High places are where the problems begin!

When you have a lust for something, like Air Jordan shoes or designer clothes, and mother can’t get it for you, why would you steal from your brother or your neighbor because of an inordinate value placed on something that has no real value? The real value is you and your life! Your friendship and brotherly love! The real value is the ability to live together in peace!

But in those high places, there is a lust for oil. Our government and our country is a slave to the energy crisis produced by an inordinate need for oil. The government is just like the drug addict, who will lie and cheat and steal to get their hands on a drug. Any parent in here that has a child that has unfortunately fallen victim to drugs, you know they are artful liars and manipulators. The addict will manipulate their parents and friends who love them, just to get their hands on something that will allow them to get something that will make them high.

In those high places, there are bad policies developed that are so wicked and deceptive so that our government can extract the wealth of others. You can’t stop drugs in the inner cities or in the suburbs if you don’t understand that the government of the United States is in Afghanistan where all the poppies grow.

These drugs weren’t so easily accessible when the Taliban had power, because the drug growth was down then. Once the Taliban lost power, now the drugs are flowing; heroin everywhere, and someone is getting rich at the top, while our children are going to jail for what they have in their possession.

Our real wealth is in our children

In the scriptures of Matthew and Luke, it reads, “For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” As parents, and those in positions of authority, our treasure is not where it should be. Our priorities are not where they should be. And in the Holy Qur’an, you always have the following words shown simultaneously: “Your wealth and your children …” because our children represent our real wealth. But where should our hearts be?

Should our hearts be on the latest Gucci or alligator style? The latest designer-this or the latest “bling-bling” that? Where should our hearts be? It should be where our treasure is, and our treasure is our children.

I have been practically all over the world, however, everywhere I go in Chicago, I find that it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We who live here are blessed to live in this great city, but it’s a great city that needs a lot of great work to be done. Billions of dollars are spent on constructing huge building projects, but when you look at the education budget, we are not constructing these beautiful young lives as they should be.

The greatest asset of America is her people, and if our treasure is in our people, then the billions of dollars that the government is throwing away to bail out corporations like AIG, Bear Stearns, and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, why not put those billions of dollars to work on making giants out of these precious gifts—our youth—that God has given to America?

President-elect Barack Obama was a child just like these children who are here. He struggled in his young life, conflicted because he had a White mother and a Black father, and wanted to find his place. However, that young man got a grip on his life, just like we want you, youth, to get a grip on yours. Mr. Obama received an education, and then rose to the top of his class. And, in a meteoric rise, has become the first African American to become president of the United States of America.

Who are our youth now? Who will they be tomorrow if we cultivate them properly? Our youth are like putty; but putty is only valuable in the hands of the one that is going to shape it properly. As we are being shaped by our homes, our churches, and our society, then all of these shapers have to shape up.

The misconstrued power in weapons

Do we need guns? No. Where did they come from? Who gets these violent weapons into the hands of our children? Why aren’t those responsible being prosecuted instead of our children?

In this world, power is what moves people, and because many of us don’t realize that the real power is in the youth, a gun is put into a child’s hand, where they are told, “This is power.” This misconstrued concept of power in a weapon is what causes you to get a man to give up his wallet; or causes somebody to give up their own self to you if you are going to rape them. That is the misuse of weapons.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad is our teacher, and he taught us that none of us, as Muslims, should carry a weapon—we don’t need them. We are not permitted to carry as much as a pen knife, because our aim is to show the world that we are a people of peace. We are not even permitted to argue with one another, because when you quarrel with one another, you destroy the spirit that would bring you unity, which would give you power to eradicate the impediments in the pathway of your progress.

But if we are always arguing and fighting, particularly in our homes where most of the problems take place, then it’s “I reach for my gun to settle my problem;” or “I shoot my wife,” or she shoots her husband. Now the child sees guns every time they look at the TV. This is violence that is being promoted, so the violence is now down in the kindergarten. If we have a problem, then we must practice talking it out, because we must not harm our brother.

Let’s be truthful in our dealings with each other. Let’s learn how to love, which starts with loving our own self. If you don’t know you, you can’t love you.

Black children have to know themselves in order to love themselves. If our children knew their rich history, their rich culture, their rich heritage, we would have a healthier view of who we are, and Whose we are.

When we see our brother, though he may be a “Crip,” a “Blood;” or he may be a “BG” or a “BD,” we must see that I am looking at my flesh. I am looking at my blood. I’m looking at myself. So if I love my self, and love my neighbor as myself, we can start building community.

I want to work with Father Pfleger, and I want to work with the Police Superintendent and others, to let us try and make this city a peaceful city.
