“O thou who wrappest thyself up, Arise and warn, And thy Lord do magnify, And thy garments do purify, And uncleanness do shun, And do no favour seeking gain, And for the sake of thy Lord, be patient”.–Holy Qur’an, Surah 74, verses 1-7
Who are the rappers and what are they rapping about? Can we trace the art of rapping back to a divine origin, to simple nursery rhymes and bedtime stories, to the rhythms and sounds in Mother’s womb? The Holy Qur’an contains a mathematically coded message in the Number 19 revealed in Surah 74 entitled, Al Muddaththir: The One Wrapping (rapping) Himself Up. Who is this one who is wrapping himself up and is asked to arise and warn and to magnify his God and to purify his garments and to shun uncleanness and to do no favor seeking gain, and for the sake of his Lord be patient as described in these first seven verses?
This one who is being called refers in the first place to the Prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be with him), in the 7th century A.D. in Arabia. He was called in the time of ignorance and savagery on the part of his people who were sunk low in the mud of civilization, practicing every vice and immorality in an uncivilized social environment. Today, we have a parallel, a scenario in America. We, too, are living in a time of ignorance and in an environment of savagery being deprived of the true knowledge of God and self. We have sunk low in the mud of civilization practicing every kind of vice and immorality exhibiting an insatiable appetite for ludeness and sexual aversions.
It is in Surah 74, verse 30 where the Number 19 is revealed. The complexities of the Number 19 as a mathematical code in the Holy Qur’an is revealed in letters, numbers, words and chapters. This mathematical code was discovered through the use of computer technology by scientists and scholarly colleague, the late Dr. Rashad Khalifa. It is this study from the Holy Qur’an based on the mathematical number 19 that has given rise to the title of my column entitled, “Unveiling the Number 19.” This discovery is being applied to a new cultural revolution and spiritual dialogue in Search of the Messiah.
This theme is truly unveiling and revealing itself in every passing second, minute and hour of everyday in the fulfillment of prophesy. In the word wrapping, discloses the word rapping, which is the delivery of a Divine Message to the Muhammad in our midst today, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, who is making this unified call to our entire community and family of nations throughout the world. We are being called to use the mathematical language in its proper terms as a testimonial to the resurrection of our mentally dead people of America and to the entire world of man and mankind.
We are being mobilized by God’s spirit, to arise and call our people to a higher spiritual state of consciousness that we have inherited from our mothers and our grandmothers, from our fathers and our foreparents to orally transmit the hip hop language into a refined culture of peace resonating love, prosperity and happiness.
Look at the words, “Hip Hop,” now, change the initial letter “H” to “B” and we have “Bee Bop,” which was the expression of dance and song of many of our parents who grew up in the early ’40s with Rhythm and Blues. Now, generations later, we are the carriers of their soulful cries for freedom and liberation. So we are the Hip Hop, Rhythm and Blues warriors who have affected the Rock and Roll and Hippie generations before us. This would also include our influence over a new generation of White people, who are fascinated with all of the original beats and rhythms of our Native American, Latino, Reggae, Jazz or Blues entertainers.
As I sat for the first time in a meeting with my Brother, Russell Simmons, in Detroit, Michigan on the opening day of the Hip Hop Summit, all of these images of our collective musical experience, we engaged in a highly spiritual dialogue in which I proposed for the upcoming event of the Millions More MovementTM, to be staged in Washington, D.C., a presentation of a classical rap musical performance that would blend all of our musical expression along with traditional instruments from around the world in one unified presentation that would raise our vibrations to a new global reality and culture of peace.
Thank you, Brother Minister Louis Farrakhan, for making this universal call of unification and atonement by God’s permission. The rejector’s response:
“Then said: This is naught but magic from of old! This is naught but the word of a mortal! I will cast him into hell. And what will make thee realize what hell is? It leaves naught, and spares naught. It scorches the mortal. Over it are nineteen. And We have made none but angels wardens of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the Book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the Book and the believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus Allah leaves in error whom He pleases, and guides whom He pleases. And none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And this is naught but a Reminder to mortals.” –Holy Qu’an, Surah 74, verses 24-31
