“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn, From the evil of that which He has created, And from the evil of intense darkness, when it comes, And from the evil of those who cast (evil suggestions) in firm resolutions, And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 113, Al-Falaq (The Dawn)
In last week’s article, we spoke of the feminine connotation to the meaning of the name and characterization of the Planet Venus as the second position from the sun and the twin of our own Planet. Within that perspective, we referred to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s Divine Teachings on the woman and her role as co-producer and the second self of God and her paramount role as the Mother of Civilization.
In our current discussion, we will focus on the Mayan prophecy concerning the Return of Quetzalcoatl and what that might mean in the perspective of the double appearance of the Planet Venus in transit, which begins on the day when this publication of our newspaper goes to print on June 8. We will have to wait another 8 years, by astronomical calculations, to see this event reoccur on June 6, 2012.
According to the Mayan calendar, as well as to the calendar systems of all of Mesoamerica, this ending date in the year 2012 will bring the present world, or 5th Sun, to end, and another world or sun will dominate and eclipse the present dark age that has ruled through violence and bloodshed, great human tragedy, falsehood and deception.
As in all the world’s religions and creeds, it is prophesied that a Saviour or Redeemer would come to redeem mankind from their oppressors. According to the chronicles of the Prophetic Histories recorded by the Indigenous peoples of Central America, this redeemer, or Christ-like figure, comes under the name “Quetzalcoatl.” He comes under several disguises and legends, but His main characteristics are very much similar to the Islamic description of the Great Mahdi, Who, upon His appearance, would be likened to a mystical god-king returning from the east, from across the sea to liberate His people, reclaim His kingdom and usher in an age of peace, prosperity and justice.
As unbelievable as this may seem, this is His description in the Indigenous texts or codices. Furthermore, He would descend from a line of ruling Quetzal kings or rulers who came before Him.
The Name “Quetzalcoatl” has several meanings. The first of these refers to the highly praised quetzal feathers from the bird found in the Guatemalan highlands and regions of Chiapas. The name “coatl” refers to the serpent and also represents the twin sign of the Planet Venus. This title is thus rendered, “the feathered serpent,” who upon his departure was transformed into the Planet Venus.
From this picture, several meanings have been derived that deal with the dual nature of the human being (spiritual and material, human and divine), and his attempt to reconcile these dualities within himself to produce the ultimate perfection of the god-man.
In the last, or 5th world of the Mayan Creation story, is recorded the following date which coincides with the month of August 3113 B.C., when the Planet Venus, in her continuing cycles, was coming to birth once again as one of its greatest signs. Its ending sign would also correspond to the sign of the Planet Venus closing the age, which is now upon us.
Thus, the prophecy of the changeover of worlds, according to the Mayan prophecy, is in its final transition, with the correlative sign of the Venus transit with her second appearance occurring precisely in the year 2012, the predicted Mayan date of this world’s end.
“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men, The King of men, The God of men, From the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (devil), Who whispers into the hearts of men, From among the jinn and the men.” –Holy Qur’an, Surah 114, Al-Nas (The Men)
To be continued.
